Jamie Bell IS Fred Astaire and Margaret Qualley IS Ginger Rogers!

I hate to ask such an impertinent question, but I loathed La La Land.

He's way better looking than Fred Astaire, and way more hair.

Isn’t he a little bulky, no offense or shaming, to play Fred? He just strikes me as fireplugish where Astair was lithe and looked tall, though for all I know he was short?

At least they can both dance, right? That's a good start.

Bell is a tiny man. I don't even buy the 5'7 that sites has his height as. But he can dance very well. Despite it being a vastly different style, he choreographed his own dancing in FILM STARS DON'T DIE IN LIVERPOOL. I'm sure he can copy Astaire's style.

I didn't get this job because of my mother. Look at my hideous sounding name Margaret Qualley.

Bell can dance but I agree with R4 that his style of movement would match closer to Gene Kelly than Astaire. Honestly, someone like Robert Fairchild would be better from a dancing perspective, but he's not anywhere near as good an actor as Bell.

So much for artistic verisimilitude.

R2 - It was one of the worse films I have ever seen. If I hadn't gone with a friend, I'd have walked out.

Interesting. Fairchild actually kind of looks like Astaire.
