What, exactly, is wrong with Mitch McConnell?

He's a pig and a panderer to the MAGAt Mob, just like Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz..

No there’s something wrong with him. He has a complete lack of empathy for anyone. Sure he can cry on the senate floor when one of his goons retires from the senate, but he is singlehandedly blocking financial relief to hundreds of millions of people for no good reason. That’s cruel. That’s evil. It’s inhumane. Far beyond just “pandering”.

A bigger question: what exactly is wrong with the millions of Americans who keep electing him? What's the appeal?

I believe besides simply being stupid Republicans, which they are, apparently McConnell gets them plenty of federal appropriations, he gets lots of money from the federal government directed to the state..

All these assholes in the Red states "hate socialism" but they are fine with it when the tax money from states who pay MORE than their fair share(nearly all blue states) pay states that pay way less than their fair share(nearly all red).

They are against Socialism until the check is made payable to them.

He's a predatory closet case with a Roy Cohn-type level of vindictiveness and dishonesty, in hock to various special interests and foreign governments (including Russia) that have paid him and treated him to favors, close to the end of his life and thoroughly - gleefully - amoral and pathologically indifferent to the harm he causes to the nation and to the people in it.

R17 already answered you, R19, and he's right: McConnell gets money for the state. He also has power in Congress and KY voters like knowing they're controlling the entire Senate, and then some. Plus he's been in the job for ages, it's hard to get rid of an incumbent.

For R4 and others = the biggest problem is that Repugs only and I mean ONLY watch their vile propaganda TV (Fox "News", Newsmax, OAN), listen to radio toads like Rush, only frequent RWNJ websites and only consume trash from far right Facebook posts. All of those sources praise Moscow Mitch as the second coming of Christ (never to rival the Führer of course, but you get it). Their news blames all of Mitch's evil deeds on that terrible Nancy Pelosi and proclaims what a patriot he is to constantly battle the evil, socialist left and China. Period. All lies. That explains his popularity amongst their base. In reality, he only answers to his very wealthy masters who control his puppet strings behind closed doors and compensate him very well for his service (something that the new administration might want to look into). He doesn't give a shit about any "little people" in our country - no matter which party they affiliate with.

A relative who is a Kentucky native and a fundy preacher started a church several years ago in a more liberal part of the country. The church was a total love-fest of Jesus-lovers until this election season, when a large number of members started saying they were voting for Biden because Trump. Duh. My relative agreed Trump is a horrible person, but he made a big deal out of abortion and started insisting they couldn't be Christians if they voted for a Democrat. The members weren't having it and fired his ass.

Many of those Kentucky Christians really are single-issue voters, and they're all peeing their pants right now, waiting for Barrett and Kavenaugh to overturn Roe v. Wade. McConnell is right up there with Jesus Fucking Christ for giving them those three Trump appointees on the SCOTUS.
