‘True Blood’ Reboot in the Works at HBO!
True Blood is being rebooted at HBO!
Sources are telling Variety that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Jami O’Brien will write the script and executive produce and the original show's creator Alan Ball will executive produce.
The show debuted on HBO in 2008 and starred Anna Paquin, Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Manganiello, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten, and Rutina Wesley. Unfortunately, at this time, none of the original cast is set to return at this time. We hope that changes!
The show ran for seven seasons on HBO. So far, there has been no official word from HBO about this news, but stay tuned as we find out more.
This news has unfortunately reminded us of the tragic death of one of the stars of True Blood, Nelsan Ellis. RIP.
ARE YOU EXCITED for more episodes of True Blood?!

I would LOVE to see more True Blood but only if it's the original cast. Otherwise I'm not interested.
R1 - I thought we banned that word...

A show that's been over for 5 years and had a slow, terrible creative death.
No. No. No.
There should be a 15 year minimum for all reboots.

So sick of her. She wants her paws on everything.

Are there no new ideas? The countless reboots are so tiresome.

My busy schedule on True Blood is preventing me from participating in the True Blood reboot.

I agree that reboots should be a once-a-generation thing. Not for shows that just went off the air a few years ago.

Moyer needs buff up. He always looked malnourished, puny, weak, and scrawny next to Skarsgard.

Only the first season was good.
Skarsgaard is like a beige column in a scene.
Why hasn't he played Jeffrey Dahmer?

The state of the entertainment industry is depressing. Rebooting something that went off the air just a handful of years ago? Pathetic.

Jesus Christ can Hollywood come up with ANY original ideas anymore?

The original show was only good for 1 and a half seasons.

I didn't watch it the first time. Anyway, it hasn't been off long enough to justify a reboot (six years). Much like everything else, I won't be watching.

R13 - excellent list but you forgot Billy Porter for something. She is gender-adjacent so would fit in perfectly.

Aw, hell no!

Why Roberto? Sabrina and Riverdale sucked after the first season.

Only if Alan Ball writes every single episode or else, no deal.
I will watch three episodes and only three. If they stunk they are dead to me but I do this out of blind loyalty to the original.

HBO cannibalizing itself. Give us time to miss the damn show, idiots.

Rather than reboot why not they make a spinoff instead ? Love see backstory of Eric and his maker Godric. They'll have so much vamp-gay -sex it will make Anne Rice wet.

R30 i would love to see Godric again. It was a mistake to kill him off so soon.

Maybe it will be more of a spin-off, R 30. Or about the *younger generation*, in which case it’ll probably be more of a Vampire Diaries reboot.

R32 ugh i hope not. The Vampire Diaries sucked.
