Not hot at all. That's Sam Page and he has a horrible underbite that is very distracting when he speaks. He is in a lot of Hallmark movies and I just can't watch him.

Fraus don't want to watch some hot slut, they want someone as dowdy as they are to wind up with Prince Charming.

It makes sense that the female leads would be more "relatable" to the fraus for the sake of fantasy. But apparently Lacey Chabert is attractive to straight guys, so I'm not sure OP is right to call her "fugly."

Even Dolly Parton's recent charmer had a decent looking man paired with a fat frau. The fat fraus dream of men like this and the movies are there dream. Just like Mike Pence dreaming of the Handmaid's Tail and he gets to be the handmaid.

I wouldn't ever be able to force myself to watch one to find out. But count me in as one who thinks the guy in OP's pic is hot - obviously I haven't seen him in action, though.

Same reason the men in most straight porn historically have been disgusting looking. Men want to lust after the opposite sex and imagine a gorgeous woman would get off on a guy like them, who is as average or as below average as they are. Women want to see the same: an average woman with a hot dude.

They want Girl-Next-Door-At-Best types, but the kinds who would be a lot cuter if they could afford better plastic surgeons. Enter Lacey Chabert. With the right surgery in her late teens, she could now be a Jennifer Love Hewitt type. As it is, she's a Hallmark girl.

See a young Jennifer Lawrence. Without all her styling she's ordinary. But her onscreen charisma was enabled better jobs, more money and best rhinoplasty and hair dye money can buy.

With a few exceptions, most of the men are pretty blah as well. Lifetime has the better looking men.

Well the camera adds 20 pounds and proportionally that's more on a woman.
