Patricia Cornwell
She was a very successful writer - why were none of her famous books made into movies or tv series?
The Dr Kay Scarpetta novels could have been an excellent film franchise. There are plenty of other books that could have been successful films/tv series too.
She is also a lesbian.

Kathy Reichs beat her to it.

My favorite Cornwell moment was her Jack the Ripper/Walter Sickert moment, and ripping up one of his paintings. That could be a TV series in and of itself.

They tried to get Scarpetta movies made, but time went on and the moment kind of passed. There was already so much forensic stuff in the market.

"Let's Write A Patricia Cornwell Novel" was one of the funniest threads, I wished I'd saved it.

She really is not a very stable personality and I suspect she scared Hollywood off. She was probably very demanding too.

What R6 said. I don't think the lesbians want her.

She may have been like Sue Grafton and told Hollywood to fuck off.

I find the niece really annoying.

She’s a hack, and not a very good detective/investigator, judging from her breathless declarations about Jack the Ripper. She has a high opinion of herself, and you can tell that she’s desperate to be seen as “ballsy” and “tough.”

A lesbian pathologist lead character? I’m seeing a world of fibromyalgia and boundaries being stated.
