Love Shelley Duvall. She was an original

Things have been quiet about her the past few years.

A few months after she was on Dr. Phil, Radar Online did a interview with her and she was said she was broke, only getting by on social security. You'd think she'd be drawing a pension from SAG along with residuals given the amount of acting work she did.

It sucks that people exploited her illness. She was nice crazy. She wasn't running around, doing drugs, flashing her cooch and shaving her head. Though I did enjoy that spectacle. Shelley is old and broke and mentally ill. leave the old gal alone or, at least, post a go-fund me for her.

I think she may be doing better now. She was inducted into the Texas Hall of Fame but I don't know if they had a ceremony due to COVID.

R5 Here. They did have the ceremony but Shelley didn't attend. Her agent and brother accepted the award on her behalf.

R4 Yeah, it's quite sad. Her boyfriend seems like an enabler to me and her was very elderly but tried helping her out.

R5 Ironically Shelley's mother died of COVID back in April at age 91. I'm sure that was tough on poor Shelley.

R4 I think she did quite a bit of drugs actually. They could have been at least partially responsible for her mental break, as it is for so many especially in this business.

Wonderful actress—should have won the Oscar for ‘3 Women,’ and seems like a sweet lady. Sad life has been so hard on her lately.

Been there, done that. Several thousand dollars raised for her, sometime in the past few years.

For Shelley junkies there’s an Instagram fan account and I believe the (I think gay) guy who runs it either has contact with her or speaks to people who do. It’s called “soshelleyduvall”.

Ok I just checked it and the gofundme is an ongoing thing. She gets money from it periodically.

Rich actors and directors who love 3 Women and The Shining and have found inspiration from it could step up and pay some of her bills and get her help.
