Also, I like Eddie’s demeanor quite a bit.

Cake or death, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | December 3, 2020 3:14 PM |
You should rent his stand up - he's quite intelligent and funny.
Also, if you can find it, he starred in a show called The Riches about 15 years ago (?) with Minnie Driver. Excellent series.

R2 Neither. Dick, me thinks. A rather large one.
Thanks, R3.

Good God, that picture.

Long hair is not flattering on a woman of a certain age.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 3, 2020 3:35 PM |
The hair made me think it was Kelly Loeffler
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 3, 2020 3:37 PM |
He DOESN'T identify as a woman.
He just likes dresses.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 3, 2020 3:40 PM |
Some of his early comedy specials are genius and worth finding online. Saw him live a few times. Super clever, literate, and smart
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 3, 2020 3:44 PM |
he actually does now r8, I lost all respect for him after he did that.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 3, 2020 3:51 PM |
He DOES identify as trans. Fluid gender. In the above video he mentions coming out in 1985.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 3, 2020 3:51 PM |
one letter from "gizzard."
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 3, 2020 3:53 PM |
Always has been a character.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 3, 2020 3:53 PM |
He’s a surprisingly good dramatic actor.

Your only choices are cake or death.

Wikipedia says:
[quote]Izzard is genderfluid[74] and calls himself "somewhat boy-ish and somewhat girl-ish".[15] He uses transgender as an umbrella term.[75]

One of my (Catholic!) high school history teachers used to show us Eddie’s World History sketches. He was the only liberal at that school.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 3, 2020 3:54 PM |
He looks like Tony Curtis in Some Like It Hot.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 3, 2020 3:56 PM |
I've only known them from Hannibal where they played a campy serial killer. Was kinda surprised that they are trans IRL.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 3, 2020 3:59 PM |
“They”, R20?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 3, 2020 4:01 PM |
I loved his first hbo special. So smart so funny. Things I have seen since, including this aren't as funny to me now.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 3, 2020 4:01 PM |
Isn't that the right trans pronoun? R21

Was in a Broadway revival of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg some 15 years ago and he received good reviews playing a father of a vegetable who's only sign of life is an occasional epileptic fit. The parents deal with the situation with humor and irreverent comments. The name they give her is Joe (Josephine) Egg. Albert Finney played the role on Broadway and Alan Bates appeared in the 1973 film. I believe Izzard was nominated for the Tony.

To me, he's a classic transvestite. Goes by he/him, sexually interested in women, likes to wear some women's clothing, makeup, etc.
If he's now calling himself transgender rather than transvestite, I think that's just a reflection of the current culture, which seems to now want to pretend that drag and transvestism never existed.
Also, he can be funny, but WOW does he need to be the center of attention at all times.
Finally, he was terrific in that film he did about the making of Nosferatu.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | December 3, 2020 4:23 PM |
he has a hilarious story about how 3 13 year old girls terrorized the poor, helpless, weak, timid real and true woman in the female bathroom years ago.

[quote] If he's now calling himself transgender rather than transvestite
Whatever happened to “executive transvestite”?

Eddie is a comic genius. Top five of all time for me. I saw him live not long before lockdown and he seemed to have lost some of his fire, but it was a Trump year, and everyone was in a bad mood.

*Thank you for this thread, DL. I've been looking for something to watch again, and some Eddie specials sound perfect.

Dress to Kill really was genius.

R16 CakeS, then. Preferably beneath my hands and in between my legs so that I can squeeze them as I get fucked.
Everyone else, thanks for all the info. At first, I was ready to make fun of Eddie, but I finished the video in op and checked out a few other videos and am impressed and beguiled!

Congrats to Eddie - she is is now officially a lesbian!
IMDB are still midgendering her though.

An unstable sense of self is a hallmark of many personality disorders.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | December 20, 2020 12:22 PM |
He was much funnier in his earlier work, I think, although he still does have moments of pure gold.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | December 20, 2020 12:26 PM |
I used to find him hot but then he became more and more trans. He's looking grotesque now. But his comedy routines were gold.

Praise Eddie!

No one would notice him without the cross-dressing thang, and he knows it.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | December 22, 2020 1:22 AM |
He played Grandpa on the reboot of the Munsters...1313 Mockingbird Lane

His trans thing is such a disappointment. Eddie Izzard used to be so different and brave as a performer by openly wearing women's clothing items and talking about it as an innate part of him. The way he used to put it was something like, "All man, plus an extra 5% girl." It seemed to show that he was an individual thinking for himself and living life on his unique terms. While his explanation of what "transness" means for him still seems like something a bit off the beaten path, if he's really declaring himself a woman and insisting on being called "she," I think he's lost to the trans groupthink.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | December 22, 2020 2:20 AM |
He's too haggard for the whole transition thing. He looks like the operations manager in an Insurance Office, who's a heavy wine drinker at night, and in shit mood every morning!!!
