Israel is a terrorist state. Do not support anything that is filmed in that country.

It's nothing like Trick. (I don't think I saw Ciao).
A gay middle-aged travel writer from NY sublets (for a few days) the apartment of a young gay man in Israel. The young man gets the dates wrong and winds up staying with the older guy, and becomes his unofficial travel guide. There's not much of plot, but it kept my interest, and it has a rather unexpectedly poignant scene towards the end when the younger man invites the writer to meet his mother.

I saw it and it was decent.

Hickey is such slime in real life. Grifter, sycophant to the stars, mean to the crew.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 25, 2021 8:15 AM |
Hickey's fivehead is looking even more massive in that clip. You could show an IMAX movie on that thing!

I have also heard a lot of negative things about him R16. Like he truly goes out f his way to be an asshole to people. That's the kind of guy that will have a huge light "accidentally" dropped on him.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 25, 2021 10:17 AM |
Is it in English or subtitles?

John Benjamin Hickey looked good NAKED in Love Valor Compassion (1997)

This NIV and his boyfriend look like two STEREOTYPICAL scene queens. I thought the two guy in that Argentinian movie were hotter.

r16, that's so disappointing to hear.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 25, 2021 1:08 PM |
R18, He was directing Plaza Suite with the Brodericks in Boston before it got hit by COVID-19 on its way to Broadway.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 25, 2021 1:14 PM |
Niv is very sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 25, 2021 1:20 PM |
As soon as I saw Hickey was involved, I immediately disliked the project.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 25, 2021 1:24 PM |
People like SJP and Broderick respond to Hickey's fawning and want him around to flatter them.
If you are a regular person who can't advance his career....he's not that nice.
His "boyfriend" relationship is so odd. They've been "together" for 20 years but only moved in together now because of the pandemic.
The boyfriend buys them fancy real estate while Hickey seems embarrassed to be seen with him in public. What the guy gets from it I don't know.

Just saw this movie. Niv was amazing. JBH was gross but it didn’t matter because you just watch Niv. I recommend.
It’s playing in NY and streaming through the Avalon in DC.
