I like her, OP. She's not an artist I think I could ever be passionate about -- I can't imagine her having the longevity of a Kylie, Madonna, Janet etc. or even Beyonce, but she seems like a good egg, has a good head on her shoulders and knocked it out of the park with Future Nostalgia and Club Future Nostalgia. She just always seems a bit awkward and nervous when performing. Charts and preferences will shift, but if you're a great touring artist, you can survive in the industry for decades.

Studio 2054 was very good. It was filmed at Printworks in London and they made the most of that very unique venue. Kylie was great. Mylie and Elton were just pre-filmed things.

I love Future Nostalgia. Only good thing to come out of 2020. I’ve seen the videos of her atrocious dancing, but she deserves an award for most improved with Studio 2054. The last two numbers in the crystal bodysuit were a knockout.

Her album was one of my faves of the last year, but the livestream which had a lot going on, didn't keep my eyes on the screen throughout. She doesn't have that great of a screen presence. Meanwhile, Kylie's which was much more sparse production wise, kept me glued to the screen from start to finish.

Also, every time I see The Black/Blessed Madonna, I still can't believe that is what they look like. When I first started hearing remixes and productions by them, I never imagined that is what they would look like.

R38 - I was pleasantly surprised at how much Dua appears to have grown as a performer. She actually did keep my engaged throughout the whole evening and I was NOT expecting that.

You're not wrong. She's NEVER going to have that incredible star presence that Kylie has. But that kind of presence can be refined... but not really taught. So few younger artists have it in the streaming age.

I don't pay a lot of attention to pop stuff these days, but every time I hear one of her songs, I find it enjoyable.

She is basically a disco artists. She has next to no range and everything is all beats. It never feels like she's really there or connecting similar to the disco hits from the past. Compare her to someone like Selenna Gomez who, despite her limited vocal range tries to pretend to sing. Dua's team knows her limitations and just let the beats carry the tune. It's a smart choice and she is a fun no-drama artists to cover. I really appreciate her stuff for what it is.
