Dear OP, we did this 23 months ago.
Delicious treats like this are like chocolate and Tchaikovsky. They are treats which should be kept for special occasions. Because, you know, that if you rub too hard, it loses its shine.

Black Narcissist? Is this about Beyonce?

Orientalist claptrap that is much admired by white people.

R1, that was the theatrical film. We're talking about the TV miniseries

Is this the new Woke TV version where every Englishwoman role is played by Indians and Africans?

The reviews describe it as "tepid", and it "struggles for three hours to justify its existence" and "a failure".
But, OP, does the late Dame Diana Rigg add a soupçon of subtlety into this aggressively idealogical venture?

R10, you seem racist. The lead is a white woman, if that makes you feel better.

It's not any good. I don't know why you would even bother to try to make this show happen by starting this pathetic thread. I hate you OP.

The very rich BBC employ a large, well-funded social media team to infiltrate EVERY form of social media to push their products. We have encountered them pushing product on Datalounge before.

R15 is stupid. If you aren't interested, don't post in the thread.
R16 sounds as loony as Trump's conspiracy theory legal team

It's not bad so far

I’m enjoying it. I love the movie and it’s not fair to compare. Glad FX decided to run all 3 parts together so I can binge watch.

Why it gotta be black?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 24, 2020 2:31 AM |
God, I love this movie. Bought the Criterion Edition months ago.

I thought you were talking about the Kanye West documentary Black Narcissist

Why bother remaking perfection?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 24, 2020 3:47 AM |
The actresses playing the nuns in the original movie all had very distinct looks. Aside from the black nun I couldn’t tell the others apart. And I missed the sheer lunacy of the original Sister Ruth who was fucking brilliant. It was a very bland remake.

I just realized this thread is about a remake. I actually thought they were airing the original on FX.
Um, what? No. Just no.
I am curious, though...

Ok, just saw the trailer. Um, I love it?
I think I might check this out. Perfect aesthetic.

Any frontal?

"I just realized this thread is about a remake. I actually thought they were airing the original on FX."
Because FX is known for airing 70-year-old movies during primetime....

Moreover, even if it were about the theatrical film, if you're bitching about someone re-posting a thread topic that was covered [italic]two years ago[/italic] you're absolutely pathetic and need to leave the forum for the sake of your own metal health.

R28 Bitch, I know! What was I thinking?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 24, 2020 7:28 PM |
I ended up liking it very much. There were some things that didn’t make sense in the original (like how did Ruth manage to get a dress and lipstick delivered to the convent....Amazon?). I did miss the original Mr Dean who was sex on a stick in his short shorts. Gemma Arterton gave me serious Glenn Close vibes. The whole thing was very well done HOWEVER the commercial breaks were annoying so I dvr’d and fast forwarded.

R31 Thanks! Will check it out!

3 hrs and it didn’t drag at all which is pretty amazing.
