Was Peppermint Patty a man?

I don’t get any feminine vibes from her. I can’t believe she invited herself, Marci and Franklin over to Chuck’s house for thanksgiving!

by Anonymousreply 53November 25, 2020 6:20 PM

She was a tomboy.

by Anonymousreply 1November 22, 2020 11:41 PM

You are stupid.

by Anonymousreply 2November 22, 2020 11:44 PM

She's also an ungrateful bitch.

by Anonymousreply 3November 22, 2020 11:48 PM

Yes sir.

by Anonymousreply 4November 22, 2020 11:51 PM

Lez.

So was Marcy.

by Anonymousreply 5November 22, 2020 11:54 PM

This.

I'm glad you brought this important issue up, OP. I'm pretty sure Peppermint Patty was the first lesbian character to appear on American TV. And is she ever given credit for her pioneering role? Not a word is ever spoken about it. I guess because she's a drawing, but still it seems an injustice has been done.

by Anonymousreply 7November 23, 2020 12:00 AM

Weren't both her and Marcie in love with Charlie Brown? I remember a strip where Marcie took ages to build up the confidence to talk to him and finally kissed him (prefacing it with: "I know you could never love a girl like me who wears glasses" or something) and he was so startled he couldn't speak and because he didn't respond she decided she maybe didn't like him as much as she thought.

by Anonymousreply 8November 23, 2020 12:03 AM

Actually, I might be mixing up two storylines with Marcie and Charlie Brown there, but this is one of the ones I was thinking of:

^...both her and Marcie..

Oh dear, R8.

by Anonymousreply 10November 23, 2020 12:06 AM

Eh, English isn't my first, or even my second language. It's bound to happen, sometimes.

by Anonymousreply 11November 23, 2020 12:17 AM

What the fuck could anyone ever see in Charlie Brown?

by Anonymousreply 12November 23, 2020 12:23 AM

Well, I guess he was a lot kinder than any of the other cunts in that neighbourhood.

Would you top Charlie Brown? I fucking doubt it.

R12 - I feel triggered by that comment.

by Anonymousreply 16November 23, 2020 12:29 AM

She was... abrasive.

by Anonymousreply 17November 23, 2020 12:29 AM

She wasn’t a man but I’m sure she was the one who wore the strap-on.

by Anonymousreply 18November 23, 2020 12:30 AM

I always detested Peppermint Patty. She was ugly, dumb, and rude. I really disliked the Peanuts special "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving." She rudely invites herself and others over to Chuck's for what she expects will be a lavish Thanksgiving dinner. Charlie Brown (and Snoopy) gamely try to appease her by throwing together a meal made of popcorn and toast and other what have yous (neither one of them are cooks). When Peppermint Patty sees what she's been served she explodes "Where's the turnkey?! WHERE'S THE PUMPKIN PIE?!!" Poor Charlie Brown is hurt and mortified. God, I hated Peppermint Patty. She had an unrequited crush on Charlie Brown as I remember, but Charlie Brown had the good sense to continue to pine after The Little Red Haired Girl.

by Anonymousreply 19November 23, 2020 12:31 AM

As long as she was careful R18. I wore one once with my lesbian lover and put my back out!

by Anonymousreply 20November 23, 2020 12:32 AM

And pine was all Charlie would do. No one will ever want to fuck Charlie Brown.

by Anonymousreply 21November 23, 2020 12:33 AM

R1 - tomboys are not allowed anymore. Neither are lesbians. She's an early case of FTM trans.

by Anonymousreply 22November 23, 2020 12:34 AM

R21 - Seriously now, I'm starting to feel attacked.

by Anonymousreply 23November 23, 2020 12:34 AM

Don't ask if Peppermint Patty was a man.

It wounds.

by Anonymousreply 24November 23, 2020 12:34 AM

R22 Yep, macho dykes are being forced to become transmen now. See Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.

by Anonymousreply 25November 23, 2020 12:35 AM

R12 & R14, Charlie Brown has a 10 inch Dick and will be fucking BOTH YOU UNGRATEFUL BOTTOM PIGS .

by Anonymousreply 26November 23, 2020 12:36 AM

Phil, you see plenty of action because you are rich and famous. Charles will have to save for months to get the money for a red-haired hooker.

by Anonymousreply 27November 23, 2020 12:36 AM

Trans. She used to be Hamburger Patty.

by Anonymousreply 28November 23, 2020 1:51 AM

R28 However she tastes and smells more like a Fish Patty!.

by Anonymousreply 29November 23, 2020 2:18 AM

I liked Sally, Chuck's sister. She was kind of simple and blunt.

by Anonymousreply 30November 23, 2020 8:45 AM

Hehe, I remember her screaming out the window at Charlie Brown while he was dithering about with Marcie: "KISS HER, YOU BLOCKHEAD!"

by Anonymousreply 31November 23, 2020 8:48 AM

We're going to debate the manners in 'A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving' and not speak of Franklin being segregated on one side of the ping pong table by himself?

by Anonymousreply 32November 23, 2020 8:52 AM

You remember wrong. She clearly said, "Fuck her, you fuckhead!"

by Anonymousreply 33November 23, 2020 8:53 AM

Charlie Brown today is a hot muscle top.

by Anonymousreply 34November 23, 2020 8:54 AM

Forget the segregation. How about those plates being violently tossed at the guests? Snoopy wanted to decapitate these bitches.

by Anonymousreply 35November 23, 2020 8:55 AM

Now we're talking about Peanuts, I've just gone and had a look over a few strips... is it just me or is it actually quite a depressing strip? Schulz clearly understands human nature very well, but it's a very grim view of it.

by Anonymousreply 36November 23, 2020 8:56 AM

Charlie Brown is a bottom, you blockhead.

by Anonymousreply 37November 23, 2020 8:57 AM

Nope. She is clearly a Dyke just waiting for her first Bike.

You know them titty bits are just waiting to fly free at Pride.

by Anonymousreply 38November 23, 2020 8:57 AM

Considering that Charlie Brown was suicidal over Christmas, yes, I would say it's a depressing comic.

by Anonymousreply 39November 23, 2020 8:59 AM

I've never seen the Christmas special, or any of the TV specials come to think of it, only the strips in the paper.

by Anonymousreply 40November 23, 2020 9:01 AM

Why didn't anyone report Pigpen's parents to DFS?

by Anonymousreply 41November 23, 2020 9:02 AM

Lucy would've been better off being sent to a psychiatrist than be one.

by Anonymousreply 42November 23, 2020 9:02 AM

R41, we discussed this in the Great Fucking Pumpkin thread. The parents didn't give a shit about these kids. Apparently this was the norm back then.

by Anonymousreply 43November 23, 2020 9:08 AM

One story that cracks me up is that in the early days of the strip, Schulz introduced a character called Charlotte Braun, who as you might guess was a joke on Charlie Brown. This character was loud and obnoxious and one girl ended up writing to Schulz to ask him to remove her from the strip because she and her friends hated the character. He agreed, but in the letter added: "Remember, however, that you and your friends will have the death of an innocent child on your conscience. Are you prepared to accept such responsibility?" and signed off with a picture of Charlotte with an axe embedded in her skull!

Charles Schulz's strip was groundbreaking until it become over-commercialized in the 60s, starting with the Happiness is a Warm Puppy book.

All the TV shows and movies that followed were crap.

I liked the stage musical, however.

by Anonymousreply 47November 23, 2020 12:17 PM

I always hated how badly Charlie Brown was treated by all the females in his life. Lucy and Peppermint Patty needed to be capped and buried under Snoopy's dog house.

by Anonymousreply 48November 23, 2020 1:11 PM

Marcy always seemed a little "slow", if you know what I mean.

by Anonymousreply 49November 25, 2020 3:16 PM

OP on the left.

She was FTM trans, you stupid whores. It sounds like you all missed the 30 years later reunion documentary on A&E.

by Anonymousreply 51November 25, 2020 3:20 PM

Remember the wing nut blogger/artist Peppermint Patty. WHET her?

by Anonymousreply 52November 25, 2020 3:33 PM

I didn't think Marcie was "slow." She was kind of weird, but not slow. I liked her.
