Trump rushes to sell off drilling rights in Alaska's Arctic refuge
The revolting Orange Bowl has decided to leave a nefarious legacy by devastating the arctic and very likely, driving polar bears in Alaska to extinction.
Way to go, Orange Bouffant Twat! Instead of pardoning Assange and Snowden, you leave a legacy that is just as bad as Obama's...

How is Obama's legacy bad OP?

His entire raison d'être is to destroy this country, and it's not because he lost the election. He has been doing it since he won the election in 2016. He has caused us irreparable harm, and that includes environmental deregulations that will make an already sick country sicker in short order. This is why I have felt the entire time that despite Mueller's findings of no conspiring with Russia in certain specific regards, he absolutely has been working against American interests in a way that is most certainly in Russia's interests.

Apparently that's exactly what a majority of people in Alaska wanted, because they voted for them again.

R1, Obama left a horrible legacy - drone strikes that have killed hundreds of thousands in the Middle East and Africa, extending and reinstating the Patriot Act, further deregulation of the financial system, opening up the Arctic for drilling, detaining and torturing Chelsea Manning, going after Assange and Snowden, accelerating evictions after the 2008 crisis, keeping the atrocious Crime Act, punishing and prosecuting whistleblowers, taking the US from three wars to seven, selling 10bn in weapons to the Saudis and providing them with logistic support and troops for the Yemen genocide (which the Obama administration silenced for years), and creating ISIS.
Obama was a HORRIBLE president - so much so, that Orange Bowl almost looks mild and moderate by comparison.

R1, don't ask a troll to troll more, good lord, man. The guy's name is "Arrian" and he's complaining about Obama while saying Trump isn't that bad. If you still don't get it, say "Arrian" out loud.

Bah, think whatever you want. The truth won't change just because it doesn't fit what your obtusely choosing the believe.
Yes, R8 - you're completely right. Sadly, people are much more concerned about style than substance, and they become outraged whenever their beliefs are changed by inconvenient truths, since they are not in concordance with what the media indicate that we're all supposed to believe.

When have I said that I disagreed with all of what R2 has said, R10? Besides the nonsense about Russia, which is ridiculous and has been proven wrong a million times, it is undeniable that Orange Bowl is a deranged narcissist and as much of a corrupt, corporate shill as the rest of politicians. The only difference is that other politicians pretend that they are saintly beings, when in reality they are working against the interests of the people they supposedly represent. Trump just does it all openly, which makes the faith that many people have in him all the much sadder.

R12, Russia would help Hillary Clinton to justify the fact that she lost the 2016 election and, most importantly, that would allow the US government to start a full blown war against Russia, China and their allies!
Why are the Russians so selfish? American weapon manufacturers and mining, oil and transportation companies deserve to make money out of the suffering of a few more million people! Helping to murder Iraqis, Afghans, Libyans, Yemenites, Syrians and Somalians isn't enough: they need MORE money, and the way to make it is to massacre a few Russkies, Chinkies and Iranians!
Why is the world so cruel to the donors of both the Republican and Democratic party candidates? Hath not a corporation selfish, environmentally destructive and politically corrupt interests; driven by the same greed, bailed out by the same public funds, protected by the same cronyism and revolving doors as... Well, other corporations? If they murder you, do they not get rich? If they destroy the planet, do they not get even richer?
Why won't the Chinese and the Russians and the Bolivians, Venezuelans, Cubans, Somalians, North Koreans and a myriads of other expendable people allow themselves to be annihilated? WHY?!???!!!!
The Clintons, the Obamas, the Bushes and McCains, the Trumps and Pelosis of this world and their Wall Street and Silicon Valley overlords need more luxury and power to stroke their psychopathic egos!

I voted for Obama both times. Supported him. Volunteered.
While I don’t think there ANY comparison between Trump and Obama, I do believe Obama failed on several fronts.
As the Vox article above noted, Obama’s legacy is NOT pure. There are many questionable things HE and his administration pushed.
Ha. Nobel Peace Prize. What a disappointment.
And his post-presidency phase where he is out hobnobbing with celebs, book touring with his wife, partnering with Netflix is well......(besides bringing in $$$$$$$$), not the most stately post presidential period in history.
What happened to grassroots community activism? Did it go all Hollywood?
You could have done better, Obama. So much better.

Lawsuits. Trump is looking to get that land sold IMMEDIATELY. If Biden were to reverse it, the US govt would be taken to court by the owners of the land.
You know how loathe the US govt is to get involved in protracted lawsuits that will cost them $$$. Billionaires have cadres of lawyers on retainer who specialize in environmental law - hell, some of them were congressmen & senators & former dept of interior heads who wrote the laws...and they wrote them specifically to favor selling those lands to the corporations they knew they’d later be working for.
Trump sued the govt in the 1970s. He was guilty of racist housing policy, but he nonetheless sued the govt for making him obey the law. It dragged on for 2 years. Then he negotiated a deal where he lost the suit, but got to say he didn’t lose the suit. A sheer waste of time & money. It was kicking the govt in the shin. It wasn’t a fatal blow or even a major blow, but it was a blow. Enough lawsuits that kick the govt in the shin will make the govt fall down.

I am not OP.
Am an Obama voter.
But Obama has his flaws. And as others have noted, his presidency and post-presidential period brings up some questions.
We are not MAGAts to march lockstep with unity in condemning those that bring up questions about those we support/supported.
Why not address the things brought up about Obama rather than labelling those “who question BO” as trolls?
Would be interested in hearing your thoughts,R23.

No difference at all in terms of lawsuits whether they own the land or own the drilling rights. They’ll sue the govt. Govt signed a contract & took their money. You don’t get to just “reverse” that.

The government can pretty much do anything it sets its mind to. Take it back. Give the money back. Deal with the lawsuit. Big deal. You have the White House.
The public will applaud.

If the government signs contracts for companies to get drilling rights and then Biden tries to reverse them, there will indeed be lawsuits.
Given all of the awful crap that the Trump administration is doing now to hamstring Biden (and, of course, make him a one-term President), it would be very useful to have a running list of those things that Biden could reverse immediately, those that will take more effort to reverse (and what that effort entails), and which people appointed to various agencies can be fired or sidelined.

Trump wanted to ruin a wildlife preserve that is beloved by birdwatchers in order to continue building his stupid wall.

But then,
[quote]Birdwatchers just shut down Trump's attempt to build the border wall in a wildlife preserve
[quote]In addition to losing the presidential election, soon-to-be-former President Trump took another L last week in a battle with birders. The Trump administration had planned to purchase a 2.5-acre stretch of land in Texas that is home to the Salineño Wildlife Preserve with the intention of building its border wall on the plot. But that plan was rejected, thanks in large part to the vocal objections of birders who have long treasured the territory for its population of rare birds.

I loved Barack Obama more than ANYONE in the whole world but now he is just sad.
“consensus cracking.”
Here’s how we develop a consensus crack: Under the guise of a fake account, a posting is made which looks legitimate — but the critical point is that it has very weak back-up. [Ed.: We assume this counterfeit posting contains some of the same points being made by those attempting to reveal the truth, but in a weaker form. Think of it as an “inoculation.” ]
Once this is done, then, under alternative fake accounts, a very strong position in your favor [Ed.:“your” meaning the disinformant’s favor] is slowly introduced over the life of the posting.
It is imperative that both sides are initially presented, so that uninformed readers cannot determine which side is the truth — but assume they have seen all the relevant facts on both sides of the issue.
As postings and replies are made, the stronger “evidence” or disinformation in your favor is slowly “seeded in.”
Thus, uninformed readers will most likely accept the disinformation. But even if they don’t, they will probably drop their opposition to your posting.
However in some cases where the forum members are highly educated and can counter your disinformation with real facts and linked postings, you can then “abort” the consensus cracking by initiating a “forum slide.”

R5 On December 20, 2016, President Obama used the authority granted by a 1953 law to remove the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas from the federal Arctic waters that are considered available for lease. Combined, the two seas make up 98% of the US Arctic water territory — a total area of more than 100 million acres. So you are wrong about your charge that Obama was keen to drill in the Arctic. I don't have time to refute many of the other things you posted.
