Wasn't he supposed to be the next great teen Hunk?
Why did Devon Sawa's career go straight down the shitter?
by Anonymous | reply 69 | January 8, 2021 1:16 AM |
He's dead.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 22, 2020 3:59 AM |
No, he's very much alive. It's his career that's dead.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 22, 2020 4:07 AM |
Is that really him at OP?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 22, 2020 4:09 AM |
Yes, R3.
He actually walked away from acting for about 5 years because he decided he was tired of it. That's understandable as a child actor transitioning into an adult actor. I guess he had to decide it if was really for him.
He also had problems with alcohol and has been sober for years now.
He returned when he joined the cast of USA Network's "Nikita" for a few years. He's worked consistently, just not in anything big since then.
He also has some ... interesting ... tattoos.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 22, 2020 4:18 AM |
Is he gay? If not, who cares?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 22, 2020 4:27 AM |
He was an alcoholic and celebrated being sober for 12 years recently. His social media is mostly bashing Republicans and conservatives and also memes about Idle Hands and Final Destination. He's very entertaining and funny which adds to his appeal. He's what I would imagine Brad Renfro would have been had he kept himself alive and got sober.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 22, 2020 4:40 AM |
Devon also tried to help Aaron Carter get sober. But Aaron of course didn't listen. Devon seems to be a good person, very no-nonsense and doesn't put up with fuckery.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 22, 2020 4:48 AM |
He has drug nose.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 22, 2020 4:50 AM |
Teen hunks rarely transition to Hollywood stars though. Very few avoid falling into obscurity. Even if Devon didn't become a druggie and alcoholic, have a few kids and remained focused on acting. He likely still would not have made any significant progress. They was and is a very clear line between child/teen star and Hollywood star. The best option after child/teen stardom are indie films or if they are really desperate TV movies/direct-to-video.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 22, 2020 5:07 AM |
Shane West has done fine.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 22, 2020 5:13 AM |
So then who is Jonathan Brandis?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 22, 2020 5:52 AM |
Christina Ricci's fivehead sucked the lifeblood away from his career.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 22, 2020 6:04 AM |
I don't remember his nose being so...crunched in?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 22, 2020 6:05 AM |
He was beautiful when he was young because of his haunting eyes and busted nose and otherwise great features.
Middle age + alcohol means he's good looking now still, but will probably only be good for character roles.
He should have gone to an acting school; that seems clear.

Who was also on Nikkita.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 22, 2020 6:32 AM |
Jay R. Ferguson has done well too.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 22, 2020 6:36 AM |
With all those drugs he'll look like this soon—
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 22, 2020 6:38 AM |
Isn't he a Canadian stanksleeve?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 22, 2020 6:43 AM |
As previous posters mentioned with Shane West and Jay R Ferguson. Television is the best way for former child/teen stars to go.
I'll also throw in Ryan Phillippe, Skeet Ulrich, Joey Lawrence, Tia Mowry, Chace Crawford, Macaulay Culkin, Alicia Silverstone, Penn Badgley and Melissa Joan Hart to that mix as well.
Some did make it to Hollywood and stayed like Amanda Seyfried, Emma Stone, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Jennifer Lawrence, James and Dave Franco, Seth Rogan, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Michelle Williams.

[Quote] Blake Lively
I don't think Blake is a child star. She didn't become relevant until GG.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 22, 2020 11:49 AM |
Blake was in those Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies with America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 22, 2020 12:20 PM |
Is he the father of that social media creature Jojo who dresses flashy and pretends to dance?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 22, 2020 12:40 PM |
I can tell this guy is an emotional time bomb just by looking at him. I wouldn't want to be around when he goes off.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 22, 2020 12:41 PM |
He looks awful.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 22, 2020 12:50 PM |
I love the sound of his voice. He will be back.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 22, 2020 1:52 PM |
His nose wasn't flat(ttened) in the Eminem "Stan" music video.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 22, 2020 6:00 PM |
Devon fared better than Eddie Furlong and Nick Stahl who are really fucked up but still alive and aged poorly. And fortunately he did not end up like Brad Renfro and Jonathan Brandis who both sadly died too early. All of them had that 90s curtained bang hairstyle that is coming back in fashion now with people like Gus Dapperton, Aaron Maine and Timothee Chalamet.

[quote] All of them had that 90s curtained bang hairstyle
Oh, geez -- the kiddies are bringing that do back? Why?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 22, 2020 7:34 PM |
Yes that hairstyle is back. It's funny I'm in my late 20s and I remember that curtained hair was still a thing until like 2003/2004 then shorter haircuts became popular. Most people I see with the curtains are Latino boys.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 22, 2020 7:41 PM |
He seems to be doing a lot better than most former child stars. He woks regularly, even if the films aren't great.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | December 6, 2020 4:06 AM |
I can't remember what he looked like at the time, though I remember it wasn't my type of thing. But based on the pic OP put up there, I wouldn't mind the chance to swallow his babies.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | December 6, 2020 4:14 AM |
Yeah nah, I was a tween at the time and those 'teen dreams' never did it for me, even as a kid it was all about daddies for me. I definitely prefer him these days (well, one would hope so too, obviously! But I mean that the way he looks now would've appealed to me more back then too).
by Anonymous | reply 34 | December 6, 2020 4:19 AM |
R34 present him hole on Twitter!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | December 6, 2020 4:20 AM |
Mmm, I'm more in the mood to take it in my mouth right about now.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | December 6, 2020 4:22 AM |
Devon could have been the greatest bottom In gay porn (of all time) but instead he decided to just be a forgotten D list actor.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | December 6, 2020 4:25 AM |
I've always wondered why a white guy has a Japanese last name.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | December 6, 2020 4:31 AM |
R38 It’s also a Polish last name. Devon’s father is from Poland.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | December 6, 2020 4:55 AM |
DS is aging into Jeremy Renner.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | December 6, 2020 4:58 AM |
That’s the widest nose I’ve ever seen at R4. Could he even wear glasses? It wasn’t like that when he was a kid at R33.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | December 6, 2020 6:02 AM |
[quote]All of them had that 90s curtained bang hairstyle
I call it the Butt Cut because the top is shaped like an ass (see R29)
by Anonymous | reply 42 | December 6, 2020 6:24 AM |
Devon Sawa resembles Nacho Vidal at r31.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | December 6, 2020 10:41 AM |
R31 thanks for posting that interview. I love their sense of humour.

This is the iconic moment twin girls around the wold fell in love with him.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | December 6, 2020 10:56 AM |
*tween
by Anonymous | reply 46 | December 6, 2020 10:58 AM |
Yeah R44 people give Culkin a lot of shit but he seems to have a great sense of humor about life. And he hasn't pissed all his money away so he can just hang out and have fun.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | December 6, 2020 5:48 PM |
What movie is R33 from?
by Anonymous | reply 48 | December 6, 2020 7:18 PM |
Probably Casper.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | December 6, 2020 7:22 PM |
At R31, why does Devon look like he got deep fried in rancid oil but Macaulay still looks basically the same as in Home Alone?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | December 6, 2020 7:48 PM |
R48 thanks for making me feel old 🙃
by Anonymous | reply 52 | December 7, 2020 5:41 AM |
I jerked it to the shower scene in Slackers.

Is that Jason Segel and Steve Carrell at R53?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | December 7, 2020 7:38 AM |
R56 Jason
by Anonymous | reply 57 | December 7, 2020 8:46 AM |
R47 I was surprised to see his sense of humour in an interview years back now. He seems pretty decent. Devon was a babe!
by Anonymous | reply 58 | December 7, 2020 9:10 AM |
Devon was always very coarse looking.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | December 7, 2020 9:56 AM |
He looks good for his age to me. He's in his 40s. Also like William Zabka, his voice even still sounds like a young man despite being middle-aged.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | December 13, 2020 1:45 AM |
Macaulay is a survivor for sure. Grew up in a big working class Irish Catholic family. His dad, a failed actor, was a nasty abusive jerk who forced his kids into showbusiness to live vicariously through them. Was verbally and physically abusive to poor Macaulay on the set of his movies. When Mac would mess up his lines, his dad would threaten him. No wonder he gave such great performances with pathos, he was scared for his life. He got freed from acting when his parents got divorced and his mother didn't force him to continue it. Apart from hanging out with Michael Jackson's weird Neverland Ranch and getting involved in that mess. Mac looked like shit for years, obviously on drugs, he married Rachel Miner when they were barely 18, hanged out with druggie Harmony Korine, he and Rachel split and he began dating Mila Kunis and doing some weird band called Pizza Underground. Now he came back into the mainstream and is enjoying a new career in acting.
I like his brother Kieran more though.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | December 13, 2020 1:55 AM |
Is he enjoying a new career in acting? The Michael Alig movie was supposed to be a comeback but it didn't pan out. I know he did a commercial a while back that got some attention.

Back in 2002, in LA, a few of us were at McCormick & Schmidt's in Beverly Hills, and I could have sworn the waiter who served us was Devon Sawa.

That's a Catholic thing.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | December 13, 2020 2:53 AM |
At least Devon is still working and aged into a ruggedly handsome man.
The other blonde pretty boys like JTT, Erik Von Detten, David Gallagher seem to have retired.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | December 14, 2020 1:42 PM |
I'm good friends with Jeff Reddick (he wrote the first Final Destination) and I've met Devon a few times over the years through Jeff. Super nice guy.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | January 8, 2021 1:00 AM |
He looks mercurial.
