Susan Collins would be concerned, the news outlets would, yet again, proclaim we are approaching a constitutional crisis as if we aren't in the midst of one, Republicans will be happy, Democrats will post on social media and have protests. He failed to steal the election. Biden won both the popular vote and electoral college by very comfortable margins, and none of the Trump gang's attempts to challenge the results have succeeded because they have no legal standing. The only way now for him to remain in office would be for the Republicans to abandon all pretense of legality and install him as dictator with the full backing of the U.S. military, and the only place that's going to happen is in the fantasies of his most fanatical devotees.

Republicans in general have a much more realistic take on this situation than Democrats do. Democrats are looking for the path of least resistance, they'll play pretend along with Biden until it's too late. Republicans are already holding rallies and organizing because they realize the election hasn't ended. Don't be caught off guard when Trump is declared the winner.

The only path for Trump to win a second term is for election to be moved to the House where there are more Republican dominated state delegations than Democrat dominated state delegations (each delegation gets one vote). This is what Trump is trying to achieve. This is why the Republicans are mostly sitting on the sidelines. They want to see if he can pull it off. It's a long shot (possibly a no shot), but the strategy is to prevent the states from certifying their results before the deadlines come, and thereby prevent the Electoral College from being able to conduct its vote. If that happens, they will ask the Supreme Court to rule that the only recourse is to have the House decide the election (as the Constitution prescribes).

What complicates things is that even without the fraud allegations, there is no question that early voting, mail in balloting, and giant fundraising hugely benefit the Democrats.
