Today I'm binge watching films starring the great Kim Darby.

Here they are,

The Grissom Gang

A Glimpse of Tiger

The One and Only

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Better Off Dead

Flatbed Annie & Sweetiepie: Lady Truckers

The People

Norwood

The Strawberry Statement

Generation

Good lord, OP.

When it comes to film fandom, there really is a lid for every pot.

I always loved Kim Darby -One of the few "quirky" actresses that didn't come across as affected (Sandy Dennis, anyone?).

Her haircut always seemed a little dykey to me

So far it's been a dream.

Where did you find Flatbed Annie and Sweetie Pie? I'd really love to see that movie again.

by Anonymousreply 5November 16, 2020 1:07 AM

LOL @ the great Kim Darby.

What's on your agenda next week?

The magnificent Kay Lenz?

by Anonymousreply 6November 16, 2020 1:11 AM

In one day? Please get some fresh air.

She was great in Rich Man, Poor Man. I really believed her as the spoiled daughter of Ray Milland's department store owner character.

She would not let Rudy go. On her wedding day, she tells him that she'll have the guy she married as a husband and Rudy as a lover.

Reminded me of a girl who would not let me go. This is going way back. I let her hang around me and I should not have.

When someone is SO INTO YOU, you've got to cut them out, sooner rather than later.

Ha!

by Anonymousreply 10November 16, 2020 1:19 AM

She's no Debra Lee Scott

by Anonymousreply 11November 16, 2020 1:20 AM

Her best performance was on Star Trek. So vulnerable, so real.

She was the poor man’s Pamela Franklin.

Pamela Franklin is the poor mans Pamelyn Ferdin.

She looked like John Denver.

by Anonymousreply 15November 16, 2020 2:18 AM

I don't believe I've ever seen the words "great" and "Kim Darby" in the same sentence before, OP.

by Anonymousreply 16November 16, 2020 2:24 AM

Personally I couldn’t stand her, but everyone is entitled to their favorites!

OP - you might enjoy this TV movie she starred in from 1983. Kim is annoying as ever but it co-stars Barry Bostwick and Hunt Block, both of whom were in their prime.

Will she make a comeback ever?

by Anonymousreply 18November 16, 2020 2:53 AM

The Strawberry Statement is a great movie.

It also stars Bruce Davison, Bud Cort and Bob Babalan.

by Anonymousreply 19November 16, 2020 3:09 AM

She's no Season Hubley.

by Anonymousreply 20November 16, 2020 3:17 AM

Season Hubley is the poor man's Whip Hubley.

Who the fuck names their child Season or Whip??

by Anonymousreply 22November 16, 2020 3:36 AM

You couldn't throw in The Curse of Michael Myers into your love-in?

by Anonymousreply 23November 16, 2020 4:06 AM

Season and Whip Hubley are sister and brother.

Season was briefly the queen of TV movies. Whip was a hottie in TOP GUN. He should have had a bigger career.

by Anonymousreply 24November 16, 2020 2:34 PM

Wikipedia says Kim's career declined because she was hooked on speed.

by Anonymousreply 25November 16, 2020 7:00 PM

TV movies don’t go for booooze an’ dope.

by Anonymousreply 26November 16, 2020 7:17 PM

I'm not one to repeat gossip so I'll just say this once but I heard she dined at the Y if you catch my drift.

by Anonymousreply 27November 16, 2020 8:37 PM

..............

by Anonymousreply 28June 4, 2021 12:42 AM

Sounds delightful.

by Anonymousreply 29February 21, 2022 9:34 PM

“We want you, Sally!”
