Wait -- we have seen her before. I remember on two separate occasions we discussed how awful the interviewer was who was interviewing Bonnie Franklin and Beth Howland, respectively.

Leta's varying makeup and hair styles in OP's montage remind me of a drag queen finding their way in life. She also reminds me a bit of Fanny Cradock. I watched the interview with Beth Howland (whom I never knew was a single mum), and although the questions seemed incredibly intrusive, Beth rolled with the punches (which makes me love her more as an actress and a person). I'm just confused how the hell Leta never changed the blade of the razor she used to shave her legs in 16 years...that can't be normal.

Beth relaxed somewhat when Leta revealed that she too was a single parent.

She reminds me of Barbara Howar, a correspondent on Entertainment Tonight in the 1980s who I could not stand. Apparently the gossipy character played by Catherine O’Hara in “Heartburn” was partially based on Howar.

Ironically, I'd watched the first one featuring Liberace years ago and hardly noticed her in the interview at all. It seems she got much more abrasive with those she didn't like (as most of us are prone to do). I just watched a few more with Mary Frann, Julia Duffy, and Carrie Fisher/Mark Hamill and Leta was completely pleasant. I'm going to watch a few more and will post any that she's a raging bitch in.

Her show was syndicated on one of our local stations when I was a kid, after the cartoons but before the news shows started, and my memory of it was that she was fine about half the time, the other half completely off the rails. I swear the station interrupted one of her interviews and started showing cartoons instead, which made me think the show was live, but it couldn't have been.

This is actually a great interview, she just isn't sophisticated like the NY/LA interviewers.

The stars didn't travel to Nebraska. This woman was flown to LA and NYC to be a part of full-day "junket" interviews in which stars sit in a room and ask answer the same question over and over again. Like in the movie "Nottinghill" where Hugh Grant pretends to be a journalist for "Horse and Hound" magazine in order to get close to the Anna Scott character played by Julia Roberts.

The Beth Howland one is hard to watch. It's obvious she doesn't want to talk about being divorced, a single parent, and money issues... but Leta keeps pressing.

I watched several of her interviews and she obviously didn’t mean any harm. The Beth Howland one went too far but otherwise the celebrities did not appear offended. Even grouchy pants Gene Hackman seemed to get a kick out of her.

I can understand an actor disliking someone like Drake, though. Because if it were a normal situation, you could give it back as good as you got it. But celebrities, especially then, have to play the "likeable" game, which usually involves being phony and impossibly sunny/kind.
