I couldn't find a thread on this - gorgeous gay British actor John Fraser has died.
First noticed him in the '90s as a young gayling when "The Horsemasters" (also starring Annette Funicello and fellow gay Tommy Kirk) played late one night on The Disney Channel. Even back then, I sat up and took notice of his striking good looks...and pressed "Rec" on the VCR, haha. Years later, I was delighted to see him in "Repulsion," and even *more* delighted upon learning he was gay as well. Sleep well, sir.

A very good looking actor in his day who I was amazed to discover some years ago was gay. His autobiography, Close Up, is a good read about his career and being gay, especially the 1950s through to the 1970s. Although he appeared in Hollywood blockbusters like El Cid he is less well known in America. His obituaries in the UK press say this was because he avoided a major Hollywood career because of the natural attention this would inevitably bring on his sexuality. It is good to know he had a good career and was able to lead a long and open life with his longtime partner. It seems he died from cancer after declining treatment. As an aficionado of old British movies I mourn his passing.
