As gay men what do you think of fujoshi?(women obsessed with gay men and gay porn)

A lot of gay men feel oppressed and fetishized by them but personally I like the idea of gay sex being perceived as hot, usually everyone think it's gross. Other people compare these girls to straight men who fetishize lesbians but I think it's stupid to compare them because male and female homosexuality are treated in a different way by society

by Anonymousreply 57November 19, 2020 3:37 AM

It's great! I love yaoi and shounen-ai manga, which are created by women and for girls. More can only be better!

by Anonymousreply 1November 7, 2020 11:01 AM

These people are fraus

by Anonymousreply 2November 7, 2020 11:08 AM

It's cringey.

by Anonymousreply 3November 7, 2020 11:11 AM

I agree OP. I’d take them over most other straight people. And unlike straight men fetishizing lesbians, they are actually much more likely to support and accept us and help advance our rights.

by Anonymousreply 4November 7, 2020 11:15 AM

R2 mug cradling pumpkin spice worshipping fraus.

by Anonymousreply 5November 7, 2020 11:17 AM

Pathetic, like most things women do

by Anonymousreply 6November 7, 2020 11:51 AM

Lots of women, even lesbians, like gay porn because it’s the one type of porn where the all actors generally appear to be enjoying themselves. Women know that nearly all other women who wind up in porn are there entirely because of trauma and addition and nearly none of them of are good enough performers to pull off convincing anybody that they love their work. Straight men don’t notice this because they never look at women’s faces. 75% of the guys in gay porn, even if they, too, are doing it because their lives have been a wreck, appear to at least be enjoying the fucking.

The fetish fraus who write slashfic are a different breed. I read an article that asserted writing gay sex gave them agency in a way that is lacking when writing (and being) women. The few I’ve encountered all seem to be sexual assault victims with unprocessed trauma who don’t have any sex in real life. Maybe it is a power fantasy thing that removes them from the equation so they can continue to try to ignore their own emotional garbage while engaging with a “safe” side of sexuality. Ultimately, I think it’s a mental health issue and that if straight men would just stop fucking women people there would be no MPREG.

by Anonymousreply 7November 7, 2020 11:53 AM

Wow, so much pseudo psychoanalysis to come to the conclusion that straight men should only fuck YOU, R7!

by Anonymousreply 8November 7, 2020 1:20 PM

Years ago there was a Japanese movie called Okoge. Anyone else see it? Okoge basically translates as 'fag hag', so it sounds like fujoshi and okoge are basically the same thing.

[quote] Other people compare these girls to straight men who fetishize lesbians but I think it's stupid to compare them because male and female homosexuality are treated in a different way by society

Yes, but how does this relate to the concept of "fujoshi"?

by Anonymousreply 12November 7, 2020 1:33 PM

It's easy to spot straight female fetishists of gay men. I don't care if they watch porn in the privacy of their own home, but don't expect every gay man especially the young ones to become your purse holders and personal shoppers or escort you to the gay club. We know that their offers of friendship come with demanding loyalties, and having gay friends is drama enough without adding females into the mix. I've heard of some of them begging gay men to let them watch them have sex, and that part, I find really sick.

by Anonymousreply 13November 7, 2020 1:39 PM

It’s usually written and read by unatttactive women who are insecure at the thought of the object of their desire having sex with a beautiful woman. Removing the woman from the equation allows them to forget or ignore their own undesirability.

I lived next to a fat, homely frau who wrote and read “slash” fan fiction with her equally grotesque friends and it was pretty apparent why they’d be uncomfortable including an attractive woman in the story. They always talked about “hawt buttsex,” knew nothing of actual anatomy and often had one of the men of the couple get pregnant. You read that right. Those stories were called “mpreg.”

Some of their most frequent pairing were various male characters from the Harry Potter movies (usually Alan Rickman’s repellent Professor Snape) and the two Supernatural guys whose names I can’t recall.

by Anonymousreply 14November 7, 2020 1:44 PM

R13 adding on here. Most of the straight women I know that hang out long-term with gay men are older and have different reasoning than what is described in the opening post. They could care less about their friends sexual activities, but enjoy them for the companionship they bring. With women like that, particularly in my experience, I can tell that they are sincere, care unconditionally about their friends, and to us, we are simply human beings they enjoy being with who just happened to be gay. Certainly, fashion advice and other such typical subjects are a part of conversation, but it's not obsessive, and the friendship is much more than what the females described in the opening are after.

A related phenomenon: Japanese ‘BL’ (an acronym meaning ‘Boys Love’, also known as ‘Yaoi’), a rubric for a subcultural artistic movement of cheaply-made homoromantic/homoerotic melodramas, mostly made by and for women, about gay male relationships featuring ‘bishounen’ (eng: ‘prettyboys’, androgynous or feminine-looking young men) characters.

The majority of BL stories share a specific emphasis of a relationship based on tenderness and equal partnership that conflicts with jealousy and insecurity. Also common to most BL (but not all) is also the clear stereotypical distinction between roles in the gay relationships portrayed – following the ‘Seme-Uke’ formula (eng: essentially, ‘pitcher and catcher’), where one is naturally inclined to act as the strong decisive yang partner while the other is the more passive nurturing yin one - and this causes some tension or conflict.

BL originally began as a descriptor solely for a type of parodic self-published fanwork, generally a light-novel or ‘manga’ (comic book, known as ‘doujinshi’) with these characteristics published in the 1980s & 1990s, but now the genre has been legitimised and encompasses full-length hardback novels, ‘keitai’ (eng: cellphone) novella, movies, tv shows (both live action and anime), stage-plays, video-games and dating sims, and even pop-groups.

Today, BL is a popular and familiar subculture in the media & Arts of most of the countries in Southeast Asia; particularly in Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, and strangely enough even in China. Further, both translated and original BL is now available in many countries and languages for commercial purchase in mainstream stores and catalogues and on streaming.

Note that there is a different genre of subcultural literature & media made by Japanese gay men for Japanese gay men, unrelated to BL. Also be aware that, though the genre is called popularly referred to as ‘Boys’ Love’, the male characters depicted in these works are late-pubescent or older. Works of Japanese/Asian romantic or erotic fiction featuring prepubescent boys are labeled ’shotakon’, and are seen as a distinct genre that is not related to BL nor socially accepted in the same way.

The most famous and stereotypical films in the Japanese BL canon - and the best ones to see first, as they originated the tropes - are the tragic BOYS LOVE (2006), the angsty ITSUKA NO KIMI E (2007), the dreamy TAKUMI-KUN: SOSHITE HARUKAZE NI SASAYAITE (eng: AND THEN I WHISPER INTO THE SPRING BREEZE...TAKUMI, 2007), and the domestic AI NO KOTODAMA (eng: WORDS OF DEVOTION, 2008).

by Anonymousreply 17November 7, 2020 2:13 PM

Straight woman here. Sorry to invade your space.

Gay porn is 1000 times hotter than straight porn. The guys seem to actually enjoy it and they are so much more passionate. Absolutely more “natural” than hetero porn. Their bodies fit together better. Also I think dicks are hot so seeing two men sucking each other and fucking - it’s superior. It’s hard to go back to straight porn once you’ve watch gay porn.

Does that make me a fetish person? Maybe. I just know when I watch porn - I click the gay tab.

Lesbian porn.... not so much.

by Anonymousreply 18November 7, 2020 2:15 PM

Hags.

No. They never have clean motives.

by Anonymousreply 19November 7, 2020 2:17 PM

Straight porn is too abusive to be fun.

by Anonymousreply 20November 7, 2020 2:17 PM

Sorry, r18, you tried too hard. Once you added the bit about not liking lesbian porn, I knew you were a gay guy.

I don't give a shit.

That's a good thing 😄

Self hating much? Somehow i don't think everyone else would agree with you if for example Sam Smith and Perez Hilton got together.

by Anonymousreply 22November 7, 2020 8:43 PM

R22 in the context of porn you dumbass. I don’t see Sam smith and Perez Hilton making a ton of porn. And that’s a pretty self-hating reply to someone saying they prefer gay porn. Pot kettle bitch.

Another female gay porn lover here. I'm definitely an insecure wallflower type. However, I'd say the main reason I watch gay porn and fantasize about gay sex is not my lack of sex appeal, but that I like seeing a guy in a vulnerable position. Before I turned to gay porn, I'd often watch femdom stuff (also tried it in real life), but it didn't turn me on as much as I expected it to. I found it too staged, artificial, unspontaneous ... Ultimately, I just wanted to see a guy get fucked.

When I watch straight porn, I only look at the woman. I often wonder if I am actually a lesbian and avoid admitting it to myself by fantasizing about (feminine) gay men. I'm genuinely bored by lesbian porn though. There has to be 'real' penetration involved, or I'm not interested.

I often wish I had a dick - and/or a prostrate. I think anal penetration feels much better for a man than vaginal penetration for a woman. I don't identify as trans; I would never have my genitals hacked off, and there are a lot of things I like about being a woman. But when it comes to sex, being female fucking sucks. I haven't had a lot of sex in my life; partly because I couldn't have the guys I was attracted to, partly because I hate the feeling of being penetrated. If I were a man, I think I'd be an insatiable bisexual slut. I'd probably already have spent tens of thousands on escorts.

Btw, I wonder how many of the gays on here making fun of 'fat, unfuckable fraus' fetishize straight men and can barely muster up an erection for their own. Something tells me that a gay man who's comfortable with his sexuality doesn't feel the need to trash straight women ...

by Anonymousreply 29November 8, 2020 2:08 AM

Have y'all heard of Girlfags? They are women who are very attracted to gay men and feel like they identify sexually as gay men. The reverse for men is guydykes.

Datalounge is message board for gay people. You opinions are worthless. Go back to Pinterest, you sad straight twat.

by Anonymousreply 31November 8, 2020 2:21 AM

Well, the alternative is to watch straight porn - and that's a horror show for most women. Plus it must be nice to see adult men expressing affection.

Most straight porn is denegrating - and that's putting it mildly.

by Anonymousreply 32November 8, 2020 2:25 AM

How is that a concern for gay men r32?

Gay men don’t care whether straight porn is a “horror”. Sounds like women have brought it on themselves

by Anonymousreply 33November 8, 2020 2:31 AM

R33 - the question is what do gay men think of women who watch gay porn. I answered.

And stop being such a hater - women did bring on degrading porn onto themselves. Stop being a little misogynistic bitch - nobody likes that.

by Anonymousreply 34November 8, 2020 2:33 AM

R34 you women come to DL to bitch about your problems with straight porn.

Twat, we don’t care. You add nothing to the conversation.

by Anonymousreply 35November 8, 2020 2:39 AM

by Anonymousreply 36November 8, 2020 3:28 AM

[quote]The reverse for men is guydykes.

Really? I always referred to those guys as creeps.

by Anonymousreply 37November 8, 2020 3:33 AM

What I have been told by a couple of women is that they find it hot to see a man surrendering fully when they are being fucked. They related to that ecstasy and while there is plenty of rough gay porn not all of it is about fucking somebody like you are taking revenge on their hole.

by Anonymousreply 38November 8, 2020 4:02 AM

And yet straight women are disgusted by the thought of a bisexual boyfriend/husband. The real reason they like gay pron is because it's degrading to the man. Whether gay people think it's degrading is besides the point. All heterosexuals find gay male sex degrading. Obviously, in a patriarchal culture, women feel empowered by seeing men degraded.

by Anonymousreply 39November 8, 2020 4:34 AM

r34 / r36. You’re not a man. Your hysterical shrillness gives you away.

by Anonymousreply 40November 8, 2020 5:23 AM

R40 - look in the mirror. I know you don't like what you see in yourself. Be more positive. Be a change in the world.

Don't let your unnecessary and unwarranted hatred fuel your life. You're lashing out against people on a board for no other reason than to express some anger deeper in yourself.

Look into yourself. You can be a better person than you are right now. Because tonight, you've shown you have a lot to learn and a lot to grow. You're better than this.

Your friend, R34 and R36.

by Anonymousreply 42November 8, 2020 5:55 AM

No one like animal haters either, R34.

by Anonymousreply 43November 8, 2020 8:01 AM

Everything that normalizes gay sex and being gay is good in my books. Personally, I think most shounen-ai or yaoi stories are clichéd crap, but young girls soak that shit up; they'll grow up as allies and slowly bring more and more acceptance.

by Anonymousreply 44November 8, 2020 8:24 AM

R24 bet Marcia would have been into watching Greg fuck his friend Tommy. Maybe she was fujoshi.

by Anonymousreply 45November 8, 2020 9:53 AM

This trope is so old by now that it has grown out of parody, become legit, and now is parodying itself.

This movie, DOCCHI MO DOCCHI (eng: SAME DIFFERENCE) makes fun of all the dumb cliches so ubiquitous in Yaoi stories. One of the main leads, Kotani Yoshikazu (aka 'Konii'), starred as the co-lead in the first hit BL movie and the genre codifier BOYS LOVE, making the whole thing even funnier and crazier.

I can understand why some gay men would have found these women strange, but then finding them oppressive is too much. The word oppression has lost its meaning due to attempts to include in it experiences of mere discomfort and strangeness. Besides, sometimes it's nice to see that other people besides gay men think guys kissing is cute or hot, and not just gross.

As far as I can tell, the people who hate these women the most are not gay men but lesbians. Lesbians are obsessed with TV and with issues of representativeness, always insisting on the inclusion of more lesbian characters and more narratives depicting lesbian life. Fujoshi, on the contrary, want more gay boys. And in certain media, as in Western animation, gay male characters are almost completely absent, leading to more strident demands on social media that such characters be acknowledged. And lesbians, in order to maintain their monopoly on this type of media, attack these demands by saying that they come only from fujoshi, that real gay men don't care about it (which is not true).

And here, the fujoshi have my support, because their interests are the same as those of young gay boys who are tired of seeing the whole LGBT existence in the cartoons they watch boiling down to girls.

I have to say, too, that I have already consumed products made by fujoshi - for example, the game Coming Out On Top - that I really liked. When I need a saccharine dose of gay romance, or at least of more average gay experiences, it’s the works of fujoshi that I need to turn to, because gay creators, on the contrary, prefer to emphasize extreme narratives, about drug sex parties, serial killers, ephebophiles, and whatnot, and at the age of 32 gratuitously edgy content has long started to grate.

by Anonymousreply 47November 8, 2020 6:59 PM

They're irrelevant and to be ignored. This has nothing to do with us (or any gay male porn actor)

by Anonymousreply 48November 9, 2020 4:10 AM

R47 My heart breaks, to see such noxious vitriol slowly poisoning you, and to hear how guarded and disillusioned and embittered you’ve become.

It’s understandable that in this dimension of seemingly perpetual war, strife, disease, and injustice, there is no solace. It seems like everything has to be a war. Please know, that’s all an illusion; in the cosmic reality, you don’t have to live in these lonely shackles of hatred, anymore. Your life doesn’t have to be about subjugation of yourself or your sisters & brothers, from now. You don’t need to look for enemies around every turn, el-Ahrairah.

How hard and how tiring it must have been to bear the weight of resentment. Imagine it is a dark polluted cloud heavy with rain inside you. Take one huge breath in, swelling the cloud, then let it all out, pushing the cloud’s energy out. Release the enormous burden you carry. Please cry, or scream, or even shout and dance if you need to.

Your brethren, regardless of sex or sexuality, love you and want you to be free and at ease in the world. You’re secure, Be at peace, be absolved, and walk with whatever Creator Force you believe in, back to a place of light and love.

Most of you made interesting points but I know a lots of lesbian fujoshi, how can you explain their existence? I think they like BL and yaoi because it gives them the power to sexualize men even if they're not attracted to them and maybe some of them feel empathy toward the characters.

by Anonymousreply 53November 10, 2020 10:00 AM

R53 interesting question.

Can’t remember where exactly I read this (I’ll cast about for the source), but I do recall reading in a research paper once that this phenomenon is thought by some to stem from female readers wanting to vicariously enjoy the agency of males without being reminded of their own constraints and socialisation. In a patriarchal society, this does make sense.

by Anonymousreply 54November 10, 2020 11:06 AM

Fujoshi died out in the early-to-mid 2010s. Instead of simply outgrowing their fetish and overcoming their emotional issues related to heterosexual intimacy, these maladjusted (often autistic as research has shown) young women have now started calling themselves "gay trans/nonbinary boys/men"; they are now living their fantasies. Since nowadays it is considered "problematic" for someone who is not a gay man to enjoy gay porn, these women will pressure any and all women who simply enjoy yaoi to also assume a trans moniker. Actual gay men are also the target of their harassment, as we are seen as the ultimate validation trophy ("If gay men are attracted to me, that means I am a real gay man"). An actual gay man standing his ground and defending the reality of being exclusively same-sex attracted is immediately labelled "transphobic" and unpersoned in so-called LGBTQIA2S++ circles and on social media.

All in all, these young women can best be described as the real-life equivalent of a very autistic, very acrimonious, very mentally ill, very homophobic version of The Borg.
