She deserves every penny.

A carrot, specifically.

She's had to suffer terribly for her art.

Sean Lennon has it made
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 5, 2020 10:33 PM |
Would anyone begrudge her?
Think of her contribution to Western civilization, rivaled only by da Vinci.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 5, 2020 10:34 PM |
Dear Yoko
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 5, 2020 10:34 PM |
Hopefully Sean will share some of his inheritance with his half brother.

Yoko for president!
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 5, 2020 10:57 PM |
Yoko's got a good eye and she held onto things. John put her in charge of the money and she started buying everything from real estate to cattle. Now she's cashing out. Just sold this Palm Beach place for $36M. Paid $725,000 for the mansion in January 1980
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 5, 2020 11:23 PM |
Oops. She bought the place in 1980 for 11M and sold it in 1986 for $3.15M
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 5, 2020 11:26 PM |
Jeez. I'm a little high celebrating. Just forget my idiotic post at R17 and read the AD thing.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 5, 2020 11:29 PM |
She’s not worth it. Lennon was.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 5, 2020 11:38 PM |
The ultimate grifter. And proof that straight men don’t mind saggy tits.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 5, 2020 11:41 PM |
Where did she get $700 million dollars from? Lennon has been dead for 40 years now.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 6, 2020 12:12 AM |
She bought cows R21 !!! John said "Only Yoko could sell a cow for $250,000
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 6, 2020 12:14 AM |
Cows generate that kind of $$$?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 6, 2020 12:15 AM |
This wll not go down well... (?). If Yoko hadn't come along, John would've OD'd soon after The White Album. Yoko gets so much shit. John was what is known as a "northern man." Whilst it was perceived that Yoko was behind the louche parlour games he started playing, anybody who knows anything about The Beatles knows that John's "Jesus" statement was the beginning of the end for him and the band. The incident in Manila in 1966 really brought the whole thing right into his face (the drug addled manager of the band, Brian Epstein, failed to acknowledge an invitation to visit Ferdinand and Imedla Marcos).
John and George were sick of being Fab. If you listen to it, "Sgt. Pepper" is arguably Paul's first solo record. Practically no input from John (although Lucy in the Sky & A Day in the Life are masterpieces), and a lovely sitar influenced song by George. Ringo said he learnt to play chess during the recording of the record.
John used Yoko as a shield to suffer for him. He hid behind her and checked out. She was a Japanese artist who fought her way to the top. Robert Fraser, an eminent art gallery owner, and leading member of Swinging London, hosted an exhibition of Yoko's art in November 1966. She didn't get there via nepotism, but rather with hard and determined work.

John Lennon described how he and Yoko Ono traded roles in a 1980 interview with American magazine: “Yoko became the breadwinner, taking care of bankers and deals, and I became the housewife. It was like one of those reversal comedies. I’d say (jokingly), ‘Well, how was it at the office today, dear? Do you want a cocktail? I didn’t get your slippers, and your shirts aren’t back from the laundry.’ ”

R24, most here know little of Yoko's years in NYC, in Soho and that she also grew up in Scarsdale, she attended Sarah Lawrence. These people assume Yoko was some groupie who latched on to John. She came from a wealthy family, she moved to Soho when most people wouldn't go anywhere near that dangerous area. Think her first space was on Bond Street, when Mapplethorpe had a loft on the same street.
Yoko was part of the downtown Soho Fluxxus art scene. Al Hansen, Beck's grandfather, was also part of that art movement, think he actually started Fluxxus.
Yoko's first husband was an avant-garde Japanese musician. There is so much rabid Beatle and Lennon fans don't know about Yoko.

All true R24. The reason she's a bitch is because of Julian. I think she finally gave him some money. He was talking to the press. And of course Sean will get it all.
"Yoko Ono took to the role like the banker’s daughter that she was. She methodically studied commercial law. She became versed in the art of deal making. She held meetings with lawyers and accountants. She directly supervised property purchases."
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 6, 2020 12:48 AM |
She took away the houses Lennon bought for his aunts but left in his own name. That tells me all I need to know about her.
R24 She did heroin with him.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 6, 2020 12:53 AM |
[quote]She did heroin with him.
AND???? What rocker and their GF/wife didn't do heroin back then?! Most of the rockers did heavy drugs back then. Some never stopped.
You poor delusional child.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 6, 2020 12:56 AM |
If only Mark David Chapman was a Yoko Ono fan. If only.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 6, 2020 1:18 AM |
You just know that Julian Lennon is sore about this.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 6, 2020 1:19 AM |
R27 she also kind of ditched her daughter with her second husband.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 6, 2020 1:24 AM |
Julian has never married and has no children. He blames his father for this. He also has a net worth of $50 million, which presumably came from Yoko and his song "Too Late for Goodbyes" which was sad but a hit and better than some of his father's stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 6, 2020 1:30 AM |
Sean Lennon is gay, right? Closeted for Yoko but seen out with this BF.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 6, 2020 1:37 AM |
Here's Julian's other big hit, Valotte. He sounded so much like his dad.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 6, 2020 1:39 AM |
R34 he has a model girlfriend.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 6, 2020 1:41 AM |
R29 I was pointing that out to the person who said she “saved” him. They were both junkies.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 6, 2020 1:41 AM |
"Sean is a planned child, and therein lies the difference. I don't love Julian any less as a child. He's still my son, whether he came from a bottle of whiskey or because they didn't have pills in those days." --John Lennon.
Imagine reading the interview where your dad said this. And knowing your dad quit working to take care of his golden child though he barely spent time with you. And forcing Cynthia to talk with Yoko to arrange Julian's visits.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 6, 2020 1:44 AM |
She's actually the most talented Beattle.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 6, 2020 1:45 AM |
Sean’s girlfriend is the definition of “thirsty skank” with the most basic bitch, wanna-be edgy musician Instagram. I feel dumber for having looked at it.
In sum, he must be gay.
