We have not, and I miss it very much. Used to be one of my biggest pleasures.
How Many of You Have Eaten in a Sit-Down Restaurant Since the Pandemic Started?

My s.o. and I did it... once. But it made us uncomfortable, and we kind of counted down the next 14 days, so until this thing is over, forget it.

I did for the first time last week. We had a friend from out of town come and visit, so we reluctantly went to eat at a restaurant that had outdoor seating under a covered patio. It was fine. I still don't want to eat inside though.

My husband and I did it. Tables were well spaced apart and people were generally good about masks. We've been fine since.
I would do it again as long as there aren't too many patrons there.

The tables were spaced six feet apart with four foot high Plexiglass panels between. Servers had masks and latex gloves.

I had mixed feelings; it was good to get out, but I felt kind of guilty that I was exposing the wait staff (can't eat with a mask on), but they need the business so...

Haven’t done it and I miss it.

I'm too scared to take my mask off in public, I had Covid for 6 months and fear catching it again. I have terrible anxiety now around people that don't have a mask on.

Many times, no big deal.

I've done outdoor dining a lot.
Indoor? Nope.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 25, 2020 9:55 PM |
Frequently, but I’m in Cairo and few give a shit.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 25, 2020 9:55 PM |
I did it but I was uncomfortable. I feel sorry for the waitstaff. I see however, Starbucks, by me is closed. This is like the 3rd time since Covid. Yikes!

Not since last December. Take away and delivery, though not often. My partner goes out with his family often however. I'm sure they think I'm a loon.

Once, at a table outside, no roof. There were quite a few people there but everyone was spaced apart appropriately.
It was in June or July, uncomfortable and weird and we never did it again.
We cook, we order takeout and delivery and that's the way it's going to stay until who knows when? We miss dining out with friends but we'd like our friends to live through this too.

I've been dining outside w/my Covid circle and doing take outs in LA ever since former was allowed
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 25, 2020 10:03 PM |
I’m in one now but it’s pretty empty and we have masks.

I did it once back in June and it made me very uncomfortable. I won't do it again until there is a vaccine. I have done drive-thru and takeout a few times, but I have cut back on that as well.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 25, 2020 10:06 PM |
I've done it 3-4 times without any worries. People are giving this -- and other viruses -- waaaaaay too much power.

Newp.

I only go to places with hot busboys.

I’ve dined outdoors five times total and something about each experience made me uneasy so unless it was a special event I haven’t wanted to go.
However, today I was starving, had no food in the house and couldn’t bear to go to the store. I called up my friends, a lesbian couple who live near me, with a host of food issues and a reputation for being less than spontaneous, on the off chance they would want to meet for a late lunch. They jumped at the chance.
We went to a place with a menu they liked and a patio. It was chilly (52 degrees) but we were dressed appropriately and they had heaters. Only 2 other tables out of 10 were occupied. Servers were masked.
It was so nice to be out and have someone else wait on me. I could only finish half my meal so have leftovers for tonight or tomorrow.

I have it was no big deal. Just a bunch of screeching fear porn MARYs in here. This is how the Chinese will win.

Only at our private club and at a resort- all spaced out. We've convinced ourselves the club is immune.

I went out to eat with a friend about 2 months ago. The next week she called and told me she had contracted Covid and that I had to quarantine

My county has just started permitting restaurants to serve indoors at greatly reduced capacity and I haven't tried that yet, doesn't seem appealing. I'm not crazy about restaurants and prefer my own cooking, but they are a convenient place to meet and some of my friends don't like to cook and used to spend a lot of time at restaurants. I've gone to a few that have good outdoor seating and that's been fine -- we're in Calif so weather isn't normally a big issue, though recent heatwaves and smoky air from nearby forest fires have been unpleasant.
