The “Riverdance” number from the original 1995 Riverdance, the Show. Michael Flatley was magnificent before he left and got bitter and fat(ley).
It started this little homo’s love affair with Irish dance. You couldn’t tell me nothin’ as I pranced around the house in my white athletic socks.

R1 I am genuinely fascinated with dancers of all sorts, and always have been. I'm not a dancer, and I don't know how difficult that routine is for someone who works at that level, but I imagine it took quite a while for them to perfect that performance.
Their bodies are their instruments. Thats an entire lifestyle. As I said...I'm genuinely fascinated.

Sia’s Chandelier and Elastic Heart videos are the most recent memorable dance routines I can think of. Kind of weird to place them alongside Fred Astaire but I think that these will stand the test of time as striking contemporary dance performances.

This is the hottest dance scene I've seen in a movie recently. Shit. It's from the Netflix series, Narcos, well worth watching. The guy with the moustache is Paccho, and he's one of the four partners running the Cali Cartel. The song is Dos Gardenias...

Great scene from Narcos. Right after that dance, he kills a guy in a really gruesome manner.....Pacho was openly Gay in the series. In real life t hey say he was out, but not so in your face with it. Whatever. If he was out, he was out.

R103 I love that sequence! Ginger's dress was legendary. I Remember watching my old favorite Robert Osborne talking about how they filmed it and how the feathers in the dress were messing Fred up and he was pissed, and Ginger had to do takes until her feet bled.

Gene Nelson in a gym. He may not have been as sexily buff as Gene Kelly, but he was 100% lean solid muscle.
It's frequently posted here. No matter how many times I've see it, it never fails to astonish me.

I love this video - it shows how Fred Astaire shot the ceiling dance in "Royal Wedding" by showing how the room revolved. Far from ruining the magic, it makes it even more impressive to see how he managed to do it.

While I'm a little surprised w/R95's counter, I knew I'd hear from someone trying to compare Eleanor Powell with Miller. Unfortunately, neither Kelly, O'Connor (who I agree was very underrated) could TAP AND SPIN or whirl around at the same time. And definitely not at 500 taps a minute.
Powell of course shines in the classic number with Astaire, and while she was technically amazing, and could tap at high speed, she could not spin in circles while tapping at the same time.

Astaire and Rogers reunited on screen after 10 years for "The Barkleys of Broadway" in 1949, their last movie together and also their only one in color. Here, they dance to the Gershwins' "They Can't Take That Away From Me." Fred sang the song to Ginger 12 years earlier in "Shall We Dance," but they didn't dance to it in the earlier film.
