Like the group. That's a shame.

Tony was a fantastic composer, ahead of his time in some ways.

The Outfield’s ‘Burning Blue’ is one of my all-time favourite rock-songs, and I count it as one of the top ten underrated should-have-been pop-rock hits of all time. I connect it closely to a certain relationship in the past, so it will always have a place in my heart. This band were so much more than just ‘Your Love’, excellent as that song was.

I was a big fan of The Outfield. I especially liked a little known song of theirs called My Paradise.

Call me when the 867-5309 singer dies, I’m hoping to eventually rid my brian of the real estate that that number takes up.

I bought their debut LP album because of "Your Love."

Still have it --and all my albums -- somewhere in this house.

RIP Tony. Hope Josie will be OK.

Good riddance! I hate that Josie song with passion!

by Anonymousreply 6October 20, 2020 10:45 PM

That’s not the name of the song, OP.

by Anonymousreply 7October 20, 2020 10:46 PM

This makes me worried for Sister Christian

by Anonymousreply 8October 20, 2020 10:55 PM

Did they come from a land of under?

by Anonymousreply 9October 20, 2020 10:58 PM

I bought their "Play Deep" cd specifically for "Everytime You Cry".

But "For You" is my favorite song of theirs.

I was listening to that song the other day - 80s baby nostalgia. That’s too bad. He was cute in the video.

by Anonymousreply 12October 21, 2020 12:03 AM

Terrible band. Pop rock crap.

by Anonymousreply 13October 21, 2020 12:05 AM

Trump alert at R13.

Isn't it about cheating with an underage girl?

by Anonymousreply 16October 21, 2020 1:57 AM

Has anyone checked in on Mike Reno? I'm concerned.

by Anonymousreply 17October 21, 2020 2:01 AM

Yea because calling out a shitty 80's band makes you a Trump supporter R14. I'm sure Biden's favorite artists are all incredibly varied and run the gamut from Lawrence Welk to Perry Como.

by Anonymousreply 18October 21, 2020 2:08 AM

"I just wanna use your love tonight"

I've always wondered how many str8 girls thought, "wow, this guy is really the one for me!" after hearing that. The lyrics are like Trump - they don't even pretend to be sincere.

by Anonymousreply 19October 21, 2020 3:18 AM

R14 THIS BAND WAS PURE ROCK SCHLOCK!!!

by Anonymousreply 20October 21, 2020 3:23 AM

Is that Corky from Life Goes on?

by Anonymousreply 21October 21, 2020 3:23 AM

My thoughts and prayers are with his daughters Juliette and Leona right now.

Voices of Babylon rocked!

by Anonymousreply 24October 21, 2020 5:18 AM

He had such an English face. Like his compatriot Angela Lansbury, I don't think he would be mistaken for any other nationality.

by Anonymousreply 25October 21, 2020 8:03 AM

How the hell did he die? Everything just says "unexpectedly."

by Anonymousreply 26November 16, 2020 2:33 AM

His bandmate died in 2014 of liver cancer.

by Anonymousreply 27November 16, 2020 2:36 AM

R17 LOL I love you xo

R24 I was just about to say, "Voices of Babylon." Used to listen to that song on repeat on road trips. I love The Outfield in general for summer daytripping. Yes, I LOVE them, in all their schlocky glory. Sorry, R20. Sometimes you gotta scratch that itch.
