It's been in the same family since 1937. No one else in the area has even a small patch of grass.
Its horrid! And the 'motel' next door breathing down your back and impinging on your privacy! Its a teardown hon.

Who the hell wants to be packed in like sardines ?...and thats without the throngs of people on the beach.

Hideous. Beachfront is nice as is the lot size. 3 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths with those horrible neighboring buildings, all for over $17 million. Bwahaha.

Heinous. One quarter of the first floor is garage, huge hedge makes water views impossible from anywhere but second floor, no trees near the pool, so lets just wait for the Melanoma, commune next door and surrounding apartments are a nice touch though. Grass is ridiculous. Its a total mess, and whomever buys it will tear it down and build condos.

R1 Lol. This is my hometown and that's not a Motel next door, that' someone's home. There is so much money in Newport it's crazy. This is a tear down only because the lot is so huge that a developer can build two homes and make twice the money! But there are rich people who would kill for a lot that big right on the sand! A lot of pro athletes live just south of that house just pass the point where the boardwalk ends.

The neighborhood is a shrine to horrible architecture

They’ve apparently been flogging this property since 2008.
Since there are no shortage of people willing to live in Newport Beach, it’s obviously overpriced.
And has been for over a decade.

Built in 1946. Did the family camp for the first nine years?

Seriously over-priced

I admire the stubbornness necessary to keep that grass.

17 Million? What? I'd pay $170,000.00 for the lot, and have the house razed. It looks like the Brady Bunch house was airlifted to the beach.

Absolutely zero privacy. Not for me.

That is some beautiful grass! But I’m surprised the environmentalists don’t come after them because it takes a lot of water to maintain that grass.

A $17 mil dog park.

"whomever buys it"
Oh, dear!

The “motel” next door is twice as big for $10 million. But I wonder if they wake up in the morning and see drunks passed out on their front deck. It’s open to the sidewalk. What are those narrow passageways on either side of the building? Does not seem very secure.
