THE AMAZING RACE Season 32 Begins Tonight (Wed. Oct. 14)

The show’s last season finished airing in June of 2019 so it’s been a long wait for TAR fans. At long last Phil is back for a new season!

Please keep this thread spoiler free.

OP, thanks for the add of keeping it spoiler free!

by Anonymousreply 1October 14, 2020 10:48 PM

Why do gay guys on these shows always have to be skinny nelly queens? Why can’t they ever cast gay MEN?

by Anonymousreply 2October 14, 2020 10:50 PM

I always wondered if the villainous queens on Season 1, Team Guido, are/were DLers?

I liked the queens years ago who took a break from racing to go shopping in Singapore.

by Anonymousreply 6October 14, 2020 11:42 PM

Bumping so this hopefully becomes the official thread tonight. I'm excited the show is back.

by Anonymousreply 7October 15, 2020 1:11 AM

Bumpity

by Anonymousreply 8October 15, 2020 2:01 AM

The gays look much better in the pics they shared than they do in motion on the show.

by Anonymousreply 9October 15, 2020 2:05 AM

The Little Nelly Boy sure seems stupid.

by Anonymousreply 10October 15, 2020 6:02 AM

I know there's only one gay couple, but almost all the male pairs seem really gay.

by Anonymousreply 11October 15, 2020 6:34 AM

I wondered about the rednecks. Guess we’ll never find out.

Some of the male couples are brothers or father/son.

by Anonymousreply 12October 15, 2020 7:14 AM

The two former NFL players are definitely fucking.

by Anonymousreply 13October 15, 2020 7:24 AM

The bearded guys have probably fucked. The male half of the “nerd” couple had a nice body. The gays were mincing prisspots as usual.

by Anonymousreply 14October 15, 2020 7:27 AM

Love the Bearded guys, so damn hot

by Anonymousreply 15October 15, 2020 2:31 PM

The hot beards are brothers.

by Anonymousreply 16October 15, 2020 4:59 PM

I guess the beards aren’t fucking then, but one of them pinged a bit on my gaydar.

by Anonymousreply 17October 15, 2020 5:09 PM

The NFL players are for sure fucking.

by Anonymousreply 18October 15, 2020 5:12 PM

Beards are not brothers, they were team mates

by Anonymousreply 19October 15, 2020 6:09 PM

I think beards are brothers, or maybe cousins. They had the same last name on the volleyball jerseys they had on in their little segment introducing themselves.

by Anonymousreply 20October 15, 2020 6:58 PM

Can one stream this crapfest free? I need to see the bearded guys.

by Anonymousreply 21October 15, 2020 6:58 PM

Riley & Maddison are the two that have great beards and are brothers

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 22October 15, 2020 7:40 PM

Nathan & Cody also have beards, though not as great ones, and are just friends

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 23October 15, 2020 7:41 PM

Nathan and Cody are [spoiler alert] gone.

Riley and Maddison are volleyball players.

by Anonymousreply 24October 15, 2020 8:27 PM

Nathan and Cody are set to star in a sequel to Brokeback Mountain...

Brokeback Noodling

by Anonymousreply 25October 15, 2020 8:28 PM

R6---Those shopping mall gays also had the smart idea of always ducking into nice hotels to ask the concierges for advice about travel or landmarks or whatever. I was sorry they did not win as their panache was charming.

by Anonymousreply 26October 15, 2020 9:29 PM

r3 Joe and Bill (Team Guido) were also on the first TAR All-Stars edition.

r6 The gay shoppers were Oswald and Danny. They've also been on twice.

by Anonymousreply 27October 15, 2020 11:49 PM

BLOCK r24. Block this POS.

by Anonymousreply 28October 15, 2020 11:52 PM

R28. The redneck beard guys left on the episode that aired yesterday. No reason to block R24

by Anonymousreply 29October 16, 2020 1:36 AM

Should the gays be called The Nancy Boys or the Marys?

by Anonymousreply 30October 16, 2020 6:32 PM

Lots of pinging on this season

by Anonymousreply 31October 17, 2020 6:01 AM

Bumping for tonight's show.

by Anonymousreply 32October 22, 2020 2:00 AM

So many orientals this season.

Fuck that. They're boring as shit.

by Anonymousreply 33October 22, 2020 2:06 AM

The Asian racist is such a sniveling little snot stain.

by Anonymousreply 34October 22, 2020 2:31 AM

If I hear those oriental twats talk about Tiger Mom making them take piano lessons or becoming a doctor or engineer just one more time, I'm going to fucking HURL!!

by Anonymousreply 35October 22, 2020 2:35 AM

There is a lot of affection between the two football players, but I can’t tell if they have ever fooled around together

by Anonymousreply 36October 22, 2020 3:21 AM

Do you have to fail an IQ test to be a contestant? Reading the instructions should not be an afterthought (or a neverthought).

by Anonymousreply 37October 22, 2020 3:41 AM

It was a blah episode until the end. This cast is better than the gimmicky blind date or social media “star” seasons, but some of the challenges are still weak.

What’s the point of doing the yield when no one uses it? They go in a pack to the church and grab the gold or emerald- boring to watch. The go to the square and hand the gold and emeralds to a person, receiving the clue without any sort of challenge- boring to watch. The circus had potential, but all but one aced it with ease. Again, a fun environment squandered.

The last challenge was classic read the clue carefully stuff. There’s a clear set of tiers between the good teams and the bad teams. Oh, and the gays are a complete embarrassment. I could even take Tyler Oakley over these two.

by Anonymousreply 38October 22, 2020 3:42 AM

The gays make me laugh. "You're a dancer!"

by Anonymousreply 39October 22, 2020 3:44 AM

R35= another shiny snot stain on a sleeve. Imagine a snail trail made of human snot. That's R35.

by Anonymousreply 40October 23, 2020 12:03 AM

I don't know if I see the gay couple sticking with each other long-term. Lots of drama and petty squabbles already.

by Anonymousreply 41October 23, 2020 5:02 AM

I love the cheap ratty rug on the one on the right at r3. I had forgotten all about them.

by Anonymousreply 42October 23, 2020 5:03 AM

R42, I forgot why they were considered so villainous?

by Anonymousreply 43October 23, 2020 5:05 AM

I did a bit of a jaw drop when the one white couple gave a hint to the other white couple - at the expense of the two black teams.

by Anonymousreply 44October 23, 2020 5:09 AM

Wouldn't mind seeing the football players shirtless again but I have the feeling the fish search in the first episode is the only water challenge

by Anonymousreply 45October 23, 2020 5:12 AM

[quote]What’s the point of doing the yield when no one uses it?

They get to keep the hourglasses for the rest of the race; there will be more yield opportunities forthcoming.

Those two silly queens are why they hate us.

I love that one of those overachieving Asian sisters said she was in "automotive sales." Does that mean she's a used car salesperson?

by Anonymousreply 46October 23, 2020 5:36 AM

I hope the ratings were decent.

by Anonymousreply 47October 23, 2020 5:38 AM

R47 Not really

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 48October 23, 2020 2:23 PM

I read somewhere that Fox News was the most watched network in the last 3 months in all of America. It had more viewers than even the Big 4 networks. So R47, with a political cycle going on, ratings are down for everything else (including sports)

by Anonymousreply 49October 23, 2020 2:25 PM

R48, R49 -- that's too bad. But I guess these ratings metrics don't take into account viewers like me, who stream the show days after the episodes already aired.

by Anonymousreply 50October 23, 2020 2:30 PM

R46--- She works in auto parts, selling mufflers and tool boxes and stuff. She said all that right after saying where she works. You must've been wanking and missed it.

by Anonymousreply 51October 23, 2020 3:24 PM

[quote] I hope the ratings were decent.

Nobody wants to watch whiny, annoying orientals.

We want to watch real Americans.

I guarantee the ratings will be way down this season.

by Anonymousreply 52October 23, 2020 3:52 PM

Phil!!!!

I am so happy the show is back. I don't HATE any team yet - although I have my favorites.

Team Volleyball and Team NFL! We need more shirtless challenges, please.

by Anonymousreply 53October 23, 2020 4:18 PM

[quote] Nobody wants to watch whiny, annoying orientals.

Speak for your racist self R52. Shouldn't you be out stealing Biden/Harris signs, or building your Trump shrine?

by Anonymousreply 54October 23, 2020 4:18 PM

r54 Actually r52 is a Biden support based on his other comments. He just happens to be an insufferable raging racist. Sad

by Anonymousreply 55October 23, 2020 4:36 PM

R41 This was filmed about 2 years ago and they've gotten engaged since the show.

by Anonymousreply 56October 25, 2020 5:18 PM

Oh my - those geeks just can't imagine why ANYONE would hate them......obviously on top of everything else, they haven't looked in a mirror lately.

Nice episode - although for some reason, I can't get as excited about the challenges and locations as I usually am. Maybe the times have just gotten me down......or maybe the contestants aren't very entertaining - or worth rooting for.

I like the volleyball boys and the married couple who won the first two shows.....everyone else is kind of "who cares?"........at least to me.

by Anonymousreply 57October 29, 2020 5:27 PM

I like the bearded Volleyball boys and the buff NFL guys

by Anonymousreply 58October 29, 2020 7:09 PM

What is wrong with these people? Read the instructions. Sheesh.

The gays should not have used that u-turn. They were out in front. Now they have enemies. (More than they know since the nerds have allies.).

by Anonymousreply 59October 29, 2020 7:56 PM

The indigenous chief using the blowgun to fell the clues was fantastic. The whole tribe was a lot more attractive than one would have thought possible. I'm all on board for the married Chinese-American couple. There really isn't anyone to hate (so far) this time, but the little queens are teetering on it.

by Anonymousreply 60October 29, 2020 8:05 PM

[Quote] There really isn't anyone to hate (so far) this time, but the little queens are teetering on it.

The two blonde girls and the two asian girls are not that likeable

by Anonymousreply 61October 29, 2020 10:16 PM

I have to say I'm kind of lusting after Leo, the nerdy guy. He has a nice smile, a good head of hair, great body, and he looks great in glasses and in Nike tights.

I cannot stand this alliance of 10 people, though.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 62October 30, 2020 7:49 AM

The blonde girls can go next.

by Anonymousreply 63November 3, 2020 8:30 AM

The gays are annoying.

by Anonymousreply 64November 3, 2020 2:27 PM

Are the orientals still in the race?

by Anonymousreply 65November 5, 2020 2:10 AM

The gays just keep getting more and more annoying.

by Anonymousreply 66November 5, 2020 5:50 AM

Especially by winning week after week.

by Anonymousreply 67November 5, 2020 6:22 AM

I knew the ratings this season would suck.

Nobody wants to watch the orientals. We just can't relate to them.

by Anonymousreply 68November 5, 2020 6:35 AM

[quote]I cannot stand this alliance of 10 people, though.

Well then, welcome to CBS reality competitions. Where everyone on Big Brother, Survivor, and Amazing Race have figured out the formula of starting an alliance of 7, 8+ people on day one and then dominating the competition the whole season. It's gets old fast and many viewers start tuning out after week four or five.

by Anonymousreply 69November 5, 2020 6:53 AM

r68 do you think maybe other people can't relate to you as a human being?

by Anonymousreply 70November 5, 2020 2:06 PM

I still like volleyball boys the best, but every team is really doing okay.

Just when I think I don't like some team, they do something awesome or say something about their lives that makes me like them again.

The only exception is The Nerds. They can go anytime please. Thank you.

by Anonymousreply 71November 5, 2020 2:56 PM

Were there two new episodes last night? My Spectrum cable guide said there were supposed to be but the second recording ended up being S.W.A.T.

by Anonymousreply 72November 5, 2020 9:08 PM

r72 There were supposed to be two, but CBS changed things up so they could run an election special at 10PM. I guess the second episode will be on next week. (I had the same problem; my DVR recorded that SWAT rerun.)

by Anonymousreply 73November 5, 2020 9:15 PM

Will and James are why they hate us.

by Anonymousreply 74November 5, 2020 9:15 PM

Thanks, r73. I’m glad we got a new episode at all. My nerves can’t handle more election coverage

by Anonymousreply 75November 5, 2020 9:17 PM

I just looked at the schedule; the episode that was supposed to run last nigh is on next Weds. (11/11), and there are TWO episodes the following week (11/18.) (8PM and 9PM.)

by Anonymousreply 76November 5, 2020 9:18 PM

I enjoyed this episode. I think I would've chosen the watermelon stacking over the glass bottle dance. I didn't expect to see the two buffest, strongest guys in the race having such a hard time with that watermelon challenge.

by Anonymousreply 77November 5, 2020 9:22 PM

I want DeAngelo in me, quite deeply.

by Anonymousreply 78November 5, 2020 9:25 PM

R77 Both the watermelon stacking and the bottle dance were both horrible options, I’m amazed any of them managed to finish. I’ve decided I’m in love with hot nerd Leo, what a beautiful guy he is.

by Anonymousreply 79November 5, 2020 9:29 PM

The football players should have started over after watching successful teams. They had a weak foundation. The judge took pity on them. Their pile was a mess.

by Anonymousreply 80November 5, 2020 11:05 PM

R79, the cello-making challenge using scrap junk material looked brutal as well. I'm sure the Amazonian humidity did not help matters!

by Anonymousreply 81November 6, 2020 12:19 AM

Are the Tiger Teams still on the show?

I won't watch until they're eliminated.

They bore me to tears.

by Anonymousreply 82November 6, 2020 12:26 AM

Really R82, there are still eight teams, an hour show, taking out commercial time that means maybe six minutes per team, you will spend more of the hour with boring commercials than any one team. Suck it up buttercup.

by Anonymousreply 83November 9, 2020 2:46 AM

The gays can't work a stick. Lolz

by Anonymousreply 84November 12, 2020 1:06 AM

Are the orientals gone yet?

I want to watch the rest of the season, but without them.

by Anonymousreply 85November 12, 2020 1:09 AM

Holy shit!!! The ass on Leo in those tights....mon dieux!

by Anonymousreply 86November 12, 2020 1:44 AM

I was sad to see the sisters go. I would have rather have them stay instead of the other sisters. I can't believe they got lost driving around for 6 and 1/2 hours.

In the older seasons, teams would ask local people to use their cellphones or sometimes have locals help guide them to their destination. I guess that's not allowed anymore?

by Anonymousreply 87November 12, 2020 3:13 PM

Where do they find such stupid people? Head for “the countryside” and hope to find a Loire Valley chateau?

by Anonymousreply 88November 12, 2020 4:35 PM

It doesn't seem physically possible for those moron sisters to drive around that long. Stop driving and get better directions. Find a cab driver and pay him to let you follow him where you need to go.

Glad to see them go. That one girl was an over-the-top bitch.

by Anonymousreply 89November 12, 2020 5:15 PM

I liked the self proclaimed "Cajun Asians". The show needs to make the race tighter, where more teams are competing at the same detour or road block together. Not only does it add to the pressure, but also allows for more confrontation between teams. The show needs bitchy players to create drama.

by Anonymousreply 90November 12, 2020 5:20 PM

As long as those two insipid queens are there, you're going to get all of the bitchy drama you need. Didn't they complain over how Leo HELPED them move the car out of the way? They seemed to just skip over the fact he was helping someone who U-turned them before and has been plotting against them.

by Anonymousreply 91November 12, 2020 5:24 PM

Some good Detours this week.

Kinda glad the blonde sisters are still around. Their backstory is more interesting than the Asian bimbos that got the ax......

Still don't like the Nerds although Leo's ass was nice.....why was he wearing tights?

by Anonymousreply 92November 12, 2020 5:33 PM

Leo wasn’t helping the Nancies. He was helping himself and the others stuck behind them.

by Anonymousreply 93November 12, 2020 5:37 PM

What is the blondes’ backstory?

by Anonymousreply 94November 12, 2020 5:38 PM

Both left home at 15 or 16. They've been on their own since then making their way in the world.....

by Anonymousreply 95November 12, 2020 5:39 PM

I lold when one Asian sister said she and her sister are now so close, and when she tells her she loves her, her sister says she loves her too. Cut to the end, and she says I love you to her sister, and she responds with "I know".

by Anonymousreply 96November 12, 2020 5:41 PM

[quote] Cut to the end, and she says I love you to her sister, and she responds with "I know".

What’s wrong with that?

by Anonymousreply 97November 12, 2020 6:02 PM

[quote] I was sad to see the sisters go

Was it the oriental sisters or the blonde sisters?

I'm hoping it was the orientals!

One down, one to go.

Then I can watch the show again.

by Anonymousreply 98November 12, 2020 6:23 PM

I loved the carnival games place. I've always like playing the modern version of that horse race game with the balls. It was cool to see a really antique version. Now I want to go there! I thought the painting task was interesting too. The first guy that was identified (by one of the volleyball bros) REALLY looked like the person depicted in the artwork.

by Anonymousreply 99November 12, 2020 7:00 PM

Never mind. It was the orientals!

WOOOO HOOOOO!

Good riddance.

One more team to go.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 100November 12, 2020 7:17 PM

Agree that the antique carnival games place was fantastic as was the chateau, and I really wanted to taste the Chantilly whipped cream. The producers on this show consistently do an excellent job in coming up with appropriate locally-specific challenges.

by Anonymousreply 101November 12, 2020 8:21 PM

I thought that was the first time our Volleyball lads really confirmed that they are brothers when one of them talked about their father.....

by Anonymousreply 102November 12, 2020 10:45 PM

Now I loved them getting hit with pies.

by Anonymousreply 103November 13, 2020 3:20 AM

I'm not a big fan of the nerds. So they got Yielded. Big whoop -- it's part of the game. No need to hold a blood vendetta.

I'm also tired of editing always shoving these nerdy types as the fan favorite/underdogs.

by Anonymousreply 104November 13, 2020 3:24 AM

[quote]when one of them talked about their father.....

Their father, the cookie sniffer?

by Anonymousreply 105November 13, 2020 3:26 AM

[quote]So they got Yielded.

They got U-turned. No one's been yielded yet.

by Anonymousreply 106November 13, 2020 3:26 AM

R106, oops, I stand corrected.

by Anonymousreply 107November 13, 2020 3:29 AM

God, I hate those nasty queens.

by Anonymousreply 108November 19, 2020 2:50 AM

Khazakstan was a fantastic stop for the race.

by Anonymousreply 109November 19, 2020 2:56 AM

So sorry to see this week's elimination

by Anonymousreply 110November 19, 2020 4:32 AM

So long to Leo and his spectacular ass, too bad we didn’t get to see more of it. These seasons lately are really sparse on the half naked challenges.

by Anonymousreply 111November 19, 2020 4:57 AM

R111, goddamnit, I was rooting for Leo and his spectacular ass to grace our screens until the end. I have last week's episode saved just for that carnival games scene with Leo running around in his tights. Now I wish I hadn't started deleting episodes, since I do remember seeing his ass in tights previously.

Also, I *loathe* those nasty queens, especially giggling at their own nastiness when the sisters Yielded Leo and Alana.

Hung was such an asshole bitching to her husband about being frustrated because *she* couldn't keep her goddamn mouth shut. Cunt.

by Anonymousreply 112November 19, 2020 6:26 AM

I wonder what would have happened if one of the Volleyball bros or DeAngelo had to do the speed bump.

by Anonymousreply 113November 19, 2020 7:08 AM

What are you talking about ? The episode I saw last night took place in Berlin. Did you get a second one ? We didn't in Canada !

I came here to read comment about ep. 6. Didn't expect to get spoiled. Damn !

by Anonymousreply 114November 19, 2020 11:34 AM

We had two episodes last night

by Anonymousreply 115November 19, 2020 1:57 PM

The big white football player could wreck me and I wouldn't care

by Anonymousreply 116November 19, 2020 2:11 PM

Hung clearly wears the pants in that marriage. Her husband is too docile he needs her permission for everything. She asked him if he was frustrated after she helped the NFL players. He said he was and all she could say was you have five minutes to get over it. Such a boss bitch

by Anonymousreply 117November 19, 2020 2:39 PM

Jesus. I'd do anything for a chance to sniff NFL Gary's ripe pits.

by Anonymousreply 118November 19, 2020 2:41 PM

Wasn't Gary wearing polish on his toenails?

by Anonymousreply 119November 19, 2020 3:35 PM

[quote] He said he was and all she could say was you have five minutes to get over i

Five minutes -- wasn't it 90 seconds?

I'm glad the nerds are gone, moreso because of whiny Alana.

Ohhhh, they're going to India. India is going to kick their ass. India kicks everyone's ass!

by Anonymousreply 120November 19, 2020 5:30 PM

Will Eswar and Aparna have any advantage in India, or are they too American?

by Anonymousreply 121November 19, 2020 5:40 PM

[quote]What are you talking about ? The episode I saw last night took place in Berlin. Did you get a second one ? We didn't in Canada !

CBS was supposed to run back-to-back episodes two weeks ago, but had to change their plans when they decided to run an election special (it was the day after the election.) So the schedule got shifted and they ran two this week to keep on track. Canada is supposed to get the Kazakhstan episode next week. That's unfortunate because unless they run two in a row, you'll always be a week behind.

by Anonymousreply 122November 19, 2020 5:42 PM

Those two losers couldn't have an advantage if the episode was shot in their backyard.

by Anonymousreply 123November 19, 2020 5:49 PM

Isn't it unfair to the rest that the Blondies have come last at two non-elimination legs?

by Anonymousreply 124November 19, 2020 6:01 PM

R124, I've been ready for them to leave for quite awhile now...

by Anonymousreply 125November 19, 2020 6:06 PM

I guess I'm the only one who saw Gary's painted toenails in the yoga challenge.....

They must look nice up around DeAngelo's ears.

by Anonymousreply 126November 19, 2020 6:12 PM

I thought it's DeAngelo that had the painted toenails

by Anonymousreply 127November 19, 2020 6:13 PM

Maybe......the short one......

by Anonymousreply 128November 19, 2020 6:20 PM

You're right R127......DeAngelo - he's married with four kids. Maybe his wife likes it.

by Anonymousreply 129November 19, 2020 6:29 PM

R114, the second episode that aired last night is scheduled to air next Tuesday at 9 on CTV. I would have missed it, but was scrolling through the guide last night and saw that CBS was airing two. CTV of course has no promotion saying that episode 2 of a two-parter is airing on a different night, those bastards.

by Anonymousreply 130November 19, 2020 6:30 PM

Oops, forgot to add that The Amazing Race will be back to its regular Wednesday at 7 slot on CTV on the 25th. So us Canadians will be all caught up by then.

by Anonymousreply 131November 19, 2020 6:36 PM

Thank you R115, R122 and R30.

Yes, in Canada we will have 2 episodes next week so we will catch up.

But damn, that is not brilliant of CTV to air an episode for an elimination game one week later !

I obviously walked innocently on a thread that was one week ahead in time ! D'oh!

by Anonymousreply 132November 19, 2020 8:46 PM

I meant thank you R130.

by Anonymousreply 133November 19, 2020 8:47 PM

R126, I noticed that, too --with DeAngelo -- and did a double-take to make sure I saw what I really saw.

I thought it was funny when DeAngelo made a comment about Gary's feet being gross.

by Anonymousreply 134November 19, 2020 9:54 PM

It used to be if you came in last on a non-elimination you had an extra task to do on the next leg. They must have gotten rid of that.

by Anonymousreply 135November 20, 2020 1:01 AM

R135. The blondes had to be fitted with facial hair and costumes. I assumed that was the equivalent of the extra task.

by Anonymousreply 136November 20, 2020 1:15 AM

No, R135, they still do that. In fact, they just did in the latest episode. The girls had to do that task of applying fake facial hair that the others didn't. I can't remember what they did the first time but they had something then as well. It just used to be a harder extra task than it is any more. It's ALL better than the early days when they had to lose all of their money and then beg for money from the locals and tourists. I HATED that.

by Anonymousreply 137November 20, 2020 1:16 AM

The first time they had to clean a saddle in Chantilly .

by Anonymousreply 138November 20, 2020 1:51 AM

Kazakhstan was one of the coolest pitstops in awhile. Sounds like that steppe was cold as hell though.

by Anonymousreply 139November 20, 2020 4:45 AM

Omg, Gary's feet! Yum!

by Anonymousreply 140November 20, 2020 5:51 AM

Holy shit, I just got a WARNING and my post removed on the Primetimer Forums because I referred to Will and James as insipid queens on that site. And before that, someone had bitched about me calling them Will and Grace. Apparently, we can no longer speak ill of gay Racers? I'm not torn up about it, I'm just surprised that a something inoffensive as insipid queens was enough for post removal. This is the site that used to go by Television Without Pity way back when BTW.

This has nothing to do with DL, I just wanted to bitch. I think it's ridiculous that censorship has been taken to such absurd levels. What the fuck?

by Anonymousreply 141November 20, 2020 7:18 AM

I suspect the problem wasn’t that you “spoke ill” of the Nancy Boys, but the homophobic language you used, you silly cunt.

by Anonymousreply 142November 20, 2020 7:23 AM

I guess if you just called them insipid, that would’ve been enough

by Anonymousreply 143November 20, 2020 7:30 AM

R142, what is homophobic about insipid? Someone else just used the same adjective just upthread.

by Anonymousreply 144November 20, 2020 7:44 AM

Insipid is not the issue, honey.

by Anonymousreply 145November 20, 2020 7:50 AM

how do you keep a tread about a show spoiler free? ummm...not discuss it?

by Anonymousreply 146November 20, 2020 8:01 AM

R146, it has to be spoiler free until the episode airs. Simple as that.

Now, our Canadian broadcaster dumbly omitted to air two episodes last Wednesday ! Therefore my surprise when I went to this thread to comment on what happened in Berlin and read Leo and Alana were eliminated in Kazakhstan. What ??!!?

I'm not blaming anybody on the thread for that !

Ctv blew it.

by Anonymousreply 147November 20, 2020 12:54 PM

[quote]I'm just surprised that a something inoffensive...

It's not inoffensive to call the gays "queens." We can say it among friends, but otherwise it's not nice. Miss Alli would've pissed acid down your throat for less than that.

I don't like Will and James at all - find them beyond annoying. But, I've learned to manage by pretending James is Fred Armisen doing a Portlandia character and now I'm okay with them.

by Anonymousreply 148November 20, 2020 2:15 PM

DeAngelo SAID how awful Gary's feet are.

by Anonymousreply 149November 20, 2020 3:51 PM

So I looked at the Primetimer forums, and the post where I called Will and James queens had also quoted two other people who likewise found those two irritating, and their posts have also been removed. So expressing any irritation or distaste for Will and James is now prohibited. That's quite a leap from finding two gays annoying to being accused of hating all gay men.

by Anonymousreply 150November 20, 2020 5:10 PM

Sure, Jan.

by Anonymousreply 151November 20, 2020 5:12 PM

No one cares what happens on other boards. Move on.

by Anonymousreply 152November 20, 2020 5:58 PM

I'm happy that the smug fuckers Leo and Alana are gone. I'm okay with any of the rest winning.

I like James but not Will. James must be tall since Will is 6'6".

by Anonymousreply 153November 21, 2020 5:34 AM

On their post-race interview, Leo and Alana say that all of the racers got along really well, and they all Zoomed into their wedding last Summer. So the drama you're seeing on your screen is all manufactured.

by Anonymousreply 154November 21, 2020 7:04 AM

R147, I'm sorry you were spoiled for the next episode. I would have had no clue that CBS was airing 2 episodes if I hadn't been browsing for something, anything, to occupy my time. It was pure luck that I stumbled across CTV's airing of the next episode on November 24. I wish CTV wouldn't continue fucking with the airdates with no promotion beforehand.

by Anonymousreply 155November 21, 2020 9:42 AM

FYI: There are two AR episodes on the schedule tonight, as well.

by Anonymousreply 156November 25, 2020 2:11 PM

Two Broke Girls is truly terrible. How does anyone watch this shit? I'm only suffering through it to get to TAR afterward, obviously.

by Anonymousreply 157November 26, 2020 12:50 AM

Oh it's the megaleg episode, that's why there are two episodes.

by Anonymousreply 158November 26, 2020 1:01 AM

The Indians are so annoying. "WE'RE ENGINEERS"

by Anonymousreply 159November 26, 2020 1:04 AM

I’m so sick of those damn nelly ass queens that I’m recording the episodes but not watching until I find out if they got eliminated. What Team Messy Queens did to Leo, who’s sooo much hotter than either of them, and his wife Alana last week was just bitchy. Nelly queens like these two on such a big platform makes the LGBTQ community look so bad.

by Anonymousreply 160November 26, 2020 1:18 AM

I enjoyed that the Indian Engineers were the first team to the coding challenge but the third to actually finish it. They were beaten by the gays and the NFL team.

by Anonymousreply 161November 26, 2020 1:29 AM

The Asians are hopeless, honestly. They struggle with such mundane things.

by Anonymousreply 162November 26, 2020 1:29 AM

The Blondes got yielded twice. That's bullshit. You shouldn't be able to yield the same team twice, especially on the same leg of the race.

by Anonymousreply 163November 26, 2020 2:24 AM

Karma does work in TAR! LOL!!!

by Anonymousreply 164November 26, 2020 2:35 AM

I see why they waited so long to air this dreck. Dreadfully boring.

by Anonymousreply 165November 26, 2020 2:54 AM

R116: I want Gary as my bodyguard.

by Anonymousreply 166November 26, 2020 3:02 AM

I like the gay guys, the bearded guys and the Asian couple. I would love to see the bearded guys have their way with the gay guys.

by Anonymousreply 167November 26, 2020 3:06 AM

This season is horrible. And all because of those annoying boyfriends. Not only are they awful people and creepy to have to watch, but they also created the alliance, which basically killed the whole thing. And now they have a new alliance which will take all the fun out of the game in the final episodes. I hope by some miracle, they get eliminated.

by Anonymousreply 168November 26, 2020 4:13 AM

Gary is so damn cute I just wanna scream every time he's on screen. Golden retriever with a cute smile. I want to hug that giant tree trunk of a man.

by Anonymousreply 169November 26, 2020 4:33 AM

I wish they weren't allowed alliances - it makes the show boring.

by Anonymousreply 170November 26, 2020 6:54 AM

Is there actually a second episode tonight? I torrent it and haven't found ep 9 anywhere.

by Anonymousreply 171November 26, 2020 6:58 AM

It is on cbs.com, r171.

by Anonymousreply 172November 26, 2020 4:03 PM

I thought the challenges in the Mega Leg were terrific! I don't mind "the Boyfriends" - they're having fun and playing the game. It's for a MILLION dollars! Using the yield is a tactic - why not use it to your best advantage?

I really like all of the remaining teams.....but I am on TEAM VOLLEYBALL and TEAM NFL......

by Anonymousreply 173November 26, 2020 4:38 PM

It was funny watching these American contestants being 'the help' on all of the legs and then still trying to converse/joke around with the rich people they're serving in India.

by Anonymousreply 174November 26, 2020 6:44 PM

I just realized who Gary reminds me of, porn actor Austin Wolf

by Anonymousreply 175November 26, 2020 7:08 PM

Aww, I ended up liking the blonde sisters towards the end.

by Anonymousreply 176November 27, 2020 6:50 AM

This five-team alliance has removed a lot of suspense from the season, and I felt sorry for the blonde sisters — they were really ganged-up on. I respect that they maintained an upbeat attitude throughout.

The queens are vile — it would be horrible if they won.

by Anonymousreply 177November 27, 2020 12:56 PM

I too liked the blondes by the end. They really were all alone out there. (DeAngelo referred to them as “cockroaches” too.)

They took it all in stride and laughed and smiled through it. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m sorry to see them go.

The gays are beyond atrocious. The alliance is a disaster for the show. When James saw the ruler and told the camera he was going to keep this to himself, the one volleyball brother immediately came over and warned him about the ruler. Gary and DeAngelo may not have contributed much to the alliance, but the gays are two-faced.

The Indian siblings are dull.

The locations and challenges are mostly been a vast improvement over the most recent seasons, and even the casting on face value was better. The alliance killed any excitement though and the boyfriends are an embarrassment for our kind.

by Anonymousreply 178November 27, 2020 1:16 PM

Yeah, the alliance is a bore, but it wasn't the first time it's been used. Usually, these multi-team alliances fall through quickly and are tenuous at best. It was surprising to see this one last as long as it did.

I didn't find anybody too objectionable this season. Looking back at some of the older seasons, there were some real villains back then! i.e. Season 20

by Anonymousreply 179November 27, 2020 2:41 PM

I take pleasure in the fact that Team Queens know they’re being dragged on social media and probably to their faces when recognized out in public. I’m waiting for someone to use the “homophobia” word and I’ll call bullshit. Those queens are vapid and vile.

by Anonymousreply 180November 27, 2020 2:46 PM

R180, meh, I don't think they were that bad. Yields and U-Turns are a legit part of the game.

Whoever was gush about Leo -- he's just average/OK-looking.

by Anonymousreply 181November 27, 2020 2:55 PM

So glad we didn't have any Big Brother or Survivor "stars" on this time.....hopefully never again.

by Anonymousreply 182November 27, 2020 3:17 PM

The previews at the end of this week's episodes makes it seem as if the other teams are planning to Yield Gary and DeAngelo to get them Philiminated, but the show knows how to edit so I wouldn't be surprised it 1) the teams wind up yielding another team or 2) Gary and DeAngelo are yielded but still manage to remain. Whatever the case, I hope Team NFL make it to the final leg.

by Anonymousreply 183November 27, 2020 4:18 PM

Most of the players seem like decent, intelligent good people...except the gays, who are slimy snakes. Love the volleyball bearded bros..they are a credit to their sport.

by Anonymousreply 184November 27, 2020 4:19 PM

I'm not sure why the other teams were so fixated on yielding the blondes. You'd think the gay couple, Hung & Chee, and brother and sister would figure that they have a better shot against them (and each other) rather than the NFL dudes and volleyball bros.

by Anonymousreply 185November 27, 2020 4:26 PM

Because the blondes were not part of the alliance. Yawn.

by Anonymousreply 186November 27, 2020 4:34 PM

If you were racing for $1M and part of loyal alliance, wouldn't you leverage aforementioned tactics to your advantage? Personally, if I were volleyball team, I would have yielded the football players since they're stronger team than blondes

by Anonymousreply 187November 27, 2020 5:05 PM

[quote]I'm not sure why the other teams were so fixated on yielding the blondes. You'd think the gay couple, Hung & Chee, and brother and sister would figure that they have a better shot against them (and each other) rather than the NFL dudes and volleyball bros.

Because he Asians and the Indians are incredibly passive. They'll hang onto the alliance for as long as they can.

No idea why everyone is so eager to help the queens. They contribute nothing.

by Anonymousreply 188November 27, 2020 9:09 PM

I'm sad about the blondes. I didn't like them at first, but their positive attitudes despite adversity really grew on me.

This mega leg was boring as fuck though. All the challenges were memory/matching ones. Yawn.

by Anonymousreply 189November 28, 2020 2:11 AM

I’m on team NFL, but I don’t think they’re getting a winner’s edit.

by Anonymousreply 190November 28, 2020 5:12 AM

When (in 2019?) was this season filmed?

by Anonymousreply 191November 28, 2020 5:21 AM

[quote] All the challenges were memory/matching ones. Yawn.

And dentistry! And table-setting. And food delivery!

by Anonymousreply 192November 28, 2020 6:17 AM

People saying teams should yield stronger teams don't get it.

If you push the NFL team back 20 minutes they might go from being in 2nd to being in 3rd. All you'll have done is piss them off.

You need to yield a team at the back of the pack to ensure they don't catch up and pass the last team. You want to increase the likelihood that the last team stays last. That's why you yield the Blondies.

by Anonymousreply 193November 28, 2020 1:18 PM

No more yields.......it's a U-Turn that's coming up.

by Anonymousreply 194November 28, 2020 3:44 PM

This may be my last season of Amazing Race. After every leg, the teams reset by being on the same flights to the next location. Finishing faster than other teams means nothing if everyone is just going to be starting at the same point the next day. And all of the yields and alliances are allowing weaker teams to progress. It’s turning into a traveling Survivor.

by Anonymousreply 195November 28, 2020 3:55 PM

It’s about who finishes last.

by Anonymousreply 196November 28, 2020 3:58 PM

R195--- Do you prefer it when they arrive somewhere late at night and have to pull tags for different starting times in the AM (for an helicopter flight or to enter someplace) and then they all spend the night outside waiting for the morning activity? They used to do that pretty frequently, it seems like they haven't done that in a long time.

by Anonymousreply 197November 29, 2020 12:42 AM

I find it annoying when Phil says things like "Will and James will be the first team to leave Almaty" when they're all going to be on the same flight.

by Anonymousreply 198November 29, 2020 1:14 AM

Yeah, when they leave at one or two in the morning, where the hell are they going

by Anonymousreply 199November 29, 2020 1:54 AM

R197, In the earlier seasons, teams made their way to an airport and had to arrange their own routing to the next city. The earlier teams often were able to book better routes, that may or may not have worked out depending on unforeseen delays. It added a degree of uncertainty and suspense. Now, they may as well just shuttle them from place to place. It is now less a “race” and more a series of tasks that are held at different places around the world.

by Anonymousreply 200November 29, 2020 2:06 AM

I'd like James' nuts.

There's nothing hot about either of those nelly ass queens but well, white gays will white.

by Anonymousreply 203November 29, 2020 7:25 PM

I agree. That pic at R201 is a fluke and he only looks good because you can't hear him talk, see him move, or have any idea about his personality.

by Anonymousreply 204November 29, 2020 9:46 PM

I think the blond is pretty.

by Anonymousreply 205November 29, 2020 10:05 PM

That is a VERY good picture, probably the best he's ever taken.

Shame he doesn't look like that in real life.

by Anonymousreply 206November 29, 2020 10:30 PM

Have you met him in real life?

by Anonymousreply 207November 29, 2020 10:34 PM

Will looks familiar. Has she been in any other reality shows?

by Anonymousreply 208November 29, 2020 10:44 PM

R191, this season was filmed in November 2018.

by Anonymousreply 209November 30, 2020 8:45 AM

James is a cutie with a good personality.

by Anonymousreply 210November 30, 2020 9:22 AM

R210 Thanks for posting, James.

by Anonymousreply 211November 30, 2020 2:26 PM

Why the 2-year delay in airing?

by Anonymousreply 212November 30, 2020 5:07 PM

Thanks, R209. So does that mean the winning team has to wait to the finale (in December) to collect their prize?

by Anonymousreply 213November 30, 2020 5:13 PM

R212, good question. I'm not sure why it was delayed so long. Yes, there was the covid scare from March 2020 onward (and studios worrying that they wouldn't have enough programming to make it to the air), but why wasn't it aired at all during 2019?

by Anonymousreply 214November 30, 2020 5:18 PM

Wikipedia

After Season 31 completed filming in July 2018, The Amazing Race 32 began on November 10, 2018 with filming of first leg reported on the island of Tobago, marking the first time The Amazing Race visited Trinidad and Tobago. Teams were spotted fishing in the Nylon Pool, played the steelpan at Pigeon Point, and participated in goat racing at the Buccoo Integrated Facility.[1] The season concluded filming on December 3, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana,[2] which had previously only hosted a Pit Stop during the Family Edition back in 2005.[7] According to Phil Keoghan, this season was the most physically demanding to film since The Amazing Race 3.[8] The show also reached a milestone of traveling one million cumulative miles during this season.[9]

CBS announced on May 15, 2019, while Season 31 was airing, that the season would be broadcast in the mid-2019–20 television season.[10] In January 2020, Amazing Race co-creators and executive producers Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri believed that the season would air within six months.[11] On April 13, 2020, CBS originally announced that the season was to premiere with a two-hour special on May 20, 2020, taking over the Wednesday slot of Survivor: Winners at War. Following this, the show would have returned to the standard one-hour episode format.[12] However, on April 29, 2020, CBS announced it was postponing the premiere until later in 2020, and the freshman game show Game On! would be taking show's former scheduled slot.[13] The postponement was designed in case the 2020–21 television season was delayed as television production was suspended following the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing pre-filmed Amazing Race to replace shows whose production has not begun.[14] This includes Survivor, which was unable to film its 41st season in time for the fall broadcast due to complications filming during the pandemic, causing CBS to subsequently schedule The Amazing Race 32 in Survivor's planned slot on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. as its replacement.[15] At twenty-two months, The Amazing Race 32 has the longest gap between its filming completion and its premiere (for comparison, Season 31 premiered 10 months after its filming in June and July 2018).[16] Outside of a message from Keoghan at the start of the first episode describing the timing of filming of this season relative to the COVID-19 pandemic, the season made no other changes or mention of the pandemic, as Keoghan explained they want to keep the show evergreen.[17]

by Anonymousreply 215November 30, 2020 5:33 PM

R208 Yes, Will was the runner-up on America's Next Top Model in 2014.

by Anonymousreply 216December 1, 2020 1:12 AM

I wonder if this season for some reason never aired, would the winners never collect their winnings?

I am assuming if it never airs then the production company never gets paid, so the winners don't get paid either.

by Anonymousreply 217December 1, 2020 1:30 AM

r216, that’s it. I didn’t think he was all that then.

by Anonymousreply 218December 1, 2020 1:32 AM

Wow, even more confusing how a nelly fuggo like James got a hottie model like Will.

by Anonymousreply 219December 1, 2020 1:38 AM

Will is not all that!

by Anonymousreply 223December 1, 2020 6:47 AM

by Anonymousreply 224December 1, 2020 12:44 PM

[quote]You shouldn't be able to yield the same team twice, especially on the same leg of the race.

They were in last place both times, anyway. They were dead meat from episode three and were saved by non-elimination legs. After numerous bunching opportunities, they still never got out of last place. Good riddance, though their positivity was a welcome change.

Now, will Gary let me lick his feets, please?!?

by Anonymousreply 225December 1, 2020 1:47 PM

Fred Armisen and Will are annoying AND stupid. Hope the beard bros spike one and beat them to the finish line. I did enjoy the empathy from contestants during that detour with the teeth.

by Anonymousreply 226December 1, 2020 1:53 PM

OMG that teeth detour. Can you imagine the breath stench??

by Anonymousreply 227December 1, 2020 3:11 PM

Another episode tonight, is the show going to just crawl to the finish line with little viewer interest?

by Anonymousreply 228December 3, 2020 3:46 AM

I would be very surprised if this wasn’t one of their lowest rated seasons. Thanks Will and James, nelly ass bitches!

by Anonymousreply 229December 3, 2020 4:02 AM

Yup, this whole season sucks. The worst ever - I think even worse than the Family edition, something I never would have thought possible.

by Anonymousreply 230December 3, 2020 4:11 AM

OMG r230, I forgot about that tired Family Edition but you’re right. This season is worse.

by Anonymousreply 231December 3, 2020 4:32 AM

They need to cast more couples who fight and scream at each other. The challenges don’t seem as hard either.

by Anonymousreply 232December 3, 2020 5:09 AM

When they were in Hyderabad, they should have had a competition involving taking away American tech worker jobs.

by Anonymousreply 233December 3, 2020 8:16 AM

James is so nice, so it's a given that that hate-filled DLers would dislike him.

by Anonymousreply 234December 3, 2020 8:22 AM

As annoying as they are, the boyfriends are always so sweet to each other.

by Anonymousreply 235December 3, 2020 9:31 AM

Agree that the challenges don't seem hard - just tedious.

by Anonymousreply 236December 3, 2020 9:36 AM

The gays are fucking annoying. Embarrassing to our people.

by Anonymousreply 237December 3, 2020 10:08 AM

Gary laying there, made my fantasies go wild.

by Anonymousreply 238December 3, 2020 10:26 AM

If the footballers knew how the other three teams they spared had been trashing them, they might have u-turned them.

It is weird how they all gang up on weaker teams, instead of trying to eliminate threats down the road.

They may present it as short-term strategy, but it reeks of high school snobbism. "You are not one of us."

As for the boyfriends, I don't mind them. They are bitchy and scheming and prancing, but they are also a very united couple, very efficient and entertaining.

by Anonymousreply 239December 3, 2020 12:57 PM

So I wonder who gets the ax next week?

I couldn't tell from the previews - they are usually misleading anyway. DeAngelo & Gary might be in trouble......

by Anonymousreply 240December 3, 2020 4:13 PM

Beard Bros have sunk to my least favorite team.

The boyfriends need a vicious slapping.

Eswar is cute. But they were a shockingly weak team for being so young.

I guess I have to root for Gary and DeAngelo now.

by Anonymousreply 241December 3, 2020 5:29 PM

Gary & DeAngelo are my least favorite, but I have to admit they would have been eliminated had they not u-turned the siblings. I am thinking either the beard bros or the boyfriends will win.

by Anonymousreply 242December 3, 2020 5:44 PM

So once again with last night's episode, all of the teams started out on the same flight, then the u-turns allowed a team to be selectively picked off by the "alliance" (though it didn't go down exactly as planned when the footballers reached the u-turn first). With what will be the lingering effects of the pandemic and how tired this show has become, I think this will be the last season. It will be months before another season could be filmed, then CBS would hold it for a year or more, something which it has been doing for the last few seasons. At best, it would be a couple of years before another season would air, by which time we will all have forgotten about it.

by Anonymousreply 243December 3, 2020 6:02 PM

Why do they hold it for a year?

by Anonymousreply 244December 3, 2020 6:03 PM

Because most of these teams we don't care about. Like the way Dorothy from "Golden Girls" was eliminated from being a contestant on "Jeopardy", nearly all these remaining teams don't have audience rooting for them.

by Anonymousreply 245December 3, 2020 6:11 PM

I’m still on Team NFL.

by Anonymousreply 246December 3, 2020 6:17 PM

Even after the tile fiasco? Not reading (or watching) the instructions AGAIN? This late in the race? Unforgivable.

by Anonymousreply 247December 3, 2020 6:19 PM

What’s wrong with the beard brothers?

The married couple are kind of boring, but they’re a good team.

by Anonymousreply 248December 3, 2020 6:20 PM

How the fuck is a show like this even allowed to film during a pandemic?

by Anonymousreply 249December 3, 2020 6:22 PM

Do try to keep up, r249.

by Anonymousreply 250December 3, 2020 6:25 PM

Hopefully the football players will lose next episode since they are the worst team and for karma for viciously u-turning the Indians.

R244 For some reason, CBS has used Amazing Race as a filler program for the past couple of seasons. This current season, #32, was completed in December 2018, but didn't begin airing until October 2020. Season 31 finished in July 2018, but wasn't aired until June 2019. Season 30 was better, with only a four month delay. It's as though CBS has been losing confidence in the show and just resorts to "dumping" them when they have an opening in their schedule.

by Anonymousreply 252December 3, 2020 6:27 PM

Why does anyone watch crap like this? I honestly don't get it.

by Anonymousreply 253December 3, 2020 6:29 PM

Because it’s fun.

by Anonymousreply 254December 3, 2020 6:39 PM

The places they visit are great for armchair travelers (like most everybody is nowadays anyway). Plus there are usually some nice teams to root for, and while there are usually some unlikable teams, they usually don't all clique up and get rid of weak teams. Usually they get rid of strong teams.

by Anonymousreply 255December 3, 2020 6:41 PM

[quote] Even after the tile fiasco? Not reading (or watching) the instructions AGAIN? This late in the race? Unforgivable.

I just like them, their relationship, best. That for me is what it's all about.

by Anonymousreply 256December 3, 2020 6:56 PM

R254, I would change that to *used* to be fun. The gays have sucked all the joy, all the fun, all the suspense out of this season.

by Anonymousreply 257December 3, 2020 7:10 PM

Why blame the gays? The other teams went along.

by Anonymousreply 258December 3, 2020 7:12 PM

[quote]Why does anyone watch crap like this? I honestly don't get it.

It's the only reality show I watch. I detest shit like Survivor and Big Brother, and would rather watch an episode of "I Love Lucy" 100 times in a row than anything with a Kardashian or a Real Housewife.

by Anonymousreply 260December 3, 2020 7:37 PM

Sweaty Gary in a tank top is all I want for Christmas this year.

by Anonymousreply 261December 3, 2020 7:51 PM

The show needs more interesting teams. Interesting teams include: bickering couples with an alpha female and beta male, a lone team that wins without alliances, a loud bitch team, and a mom and son team.

They were in the middle of filming the next season in March, and had to shut down production because of the pandemic. Who knows when they'll be able to get back up and running again. I would bet that this will be the last season.

It's far and away the best. I know the Emmys have moved on from it in favor of The Voice, The Masked Singer, RuPaul's Drag Race and that ilk -- and while the actual performances on those shows might have some worth, I can't stand the endless repetition and hype of them.

by Anonymousreply 268December 3, 2020 8:33 PM

Those nelly bitches Will and James and that fucking alliance will be the end of this show. If the show survives, can we please bring back Tyler and Korey. They represent us well.

@CBS | The Amazing Race opened Season 32 with 3.4 million viewers and a 0.7 rating, down sharply from the previous cycle’s April 2019 kickoff (5.7 mil/1.2).”

I actually think this is the best cast season of the show in its history. I like every team so each losing team was a loss to the show. Usually, half the teams are so hateful and annoying, with bickering and pouting, that I cheer when they lose. Don't we have enough cunts on reality TV? I like that every team this season was enjoyable to watch; it made rooting for anyone so far very hard because I don't want any of them to lose. That, I think, is more compelling than the usual season full of assholes. Comparing this to the Family season? Are you joking or did you forget how bad that season was? Some of you seem to like to complain just for the sake of it. This isn't anywhere near the worst season. And certainly nowhere near as bad as that obnoxious family edition season.

by Anonymousreply 272December 4, 2020 1:39 AM

Absolutely hate the gays. I deleted last nights episode about quarter of the way through because of them. Too gay.

by Anonymousreply 273December 4, 2020 2:31 AM

r273, AGREE!

by Anonymousreply 274December 4, 2020 2:34 AM

Team NFL had the gays on their podcast & DeAngelo talked about becoming very close to James at a reunion get-together that Will was unable to attend. An odd couple for sure, but DeAngelo couldn’t stop gushing about his friend James.

by Anonymousreply 275December 4, 2020 2:50 AM

I miss Charla and Mirna. They are the true AR queens.

by Anonymousreply 276December 4, 2020 3:00 AM

I could spend time in Chee's garden. I imagine it's tall grass.

by Anonymousreply 277December 4, 2020 3:02 AM

It would be nice if the boyfriends win since they are good representatives and role models for the gay community.

by Anonymousreply 278December 4, 2020 3:27 AM

r278, I’m guessing you’re either a nelly white gay or a snow queen.

by Anonymousreply 279December 4, 2020 3:38 AM

The hottest gay TAR has had was the cop who was in the "blind date/teammate" season. He was eliminated after the first leg, if I recall correctly.

by Anonymousreply 280December 4, 2020 3:42 AM

[quote][R278], I’m guessing you’re either a nelly white gay or a snow queen.

I'm guessing he's either Will or James.

by Anonymousreply 281December 4, 2020 4:04 AM

r281, then nelly white gay it is.

by Anonymousreply 282December 4, 2020 4:08 AM

This has been a good season. The places they have visited have been interesting, the challenges have been good, and there were no "celebrity" couples from other CBS reality shows.

I'm still all-in on Hung and Chee winning (he seems very nice) but think it will be the beard brothers and that will be okay. Just don't want it to be Will and James.

by Anonymousreply 283December 4, 2020 4:53 AM

R278 My bf said that Will & James set the gays back by 50 years. I agreed.

by Anonymousreply 284December 4, 2020 6:57 AM

We can’t all be butch like Josh and Brent.

by Anonymousreply 286December 4, 2020 4:55 PM

[quote] Absolutely hate the gays. I deleted last nights episode about quarter of the way through because of them. Too gay.

I honestly don't know how some of you people make it through the day. Take the commercials out that leaves about 45 minutes, divide that by the 5 teams left that means each team is on for roughly 9 minutes each. If you can't tolerate a team you don't like for 9 minutes in a couple of minute segments you are just too fragile to exist.

by Anonymousreply 287December 4, 2020 5:14 PM

Love the gays and the bearded brothers. Wish they weren't brothers but lovers.

by Anonymousreply 288December 4, 2020 5:58 PM

I'm enjoying this season. It's nowhere near as vile as the Family Edition or AR20, or ugh, the Youtube Celebrity edition.

by Anonymousreply 289December 4, 2020 6:05 PM

The biggest problem with this season is that it's sooo boring. The challenges are dull. The teams are alright, but not very exciting (except when Gary lies back with his hands behind his head exposing those glorious pits). What bothers me most about the gays is how James laughs at everything like it's the funniest thing he's ever heard. Way too impressed with himself and Will. Their alliance with the bros is going to bite them in the ass (and not in the fun way).

by Anonymousreply 290December 4, 2020 6:21 PM

It appears that normal gay people like Will and James and the self-loathing gays who are repulsed by normal gay behavior hate them. The boyfriends do a good job showing who we are.

by Anonymousreply 291December 4, 2020 6:34 PM

Can’t we be both, r288?

by Anonymousreply 292December 4, 2020 6:43 PM

R291 Oh, it figures that WIll and James post here.

by Anonymousreply 293December 4, 2020 6:54 PM

I am liking this season. CBS does a terrible job of promoting the show.....the only good thing about the last few seasons is that it was moved from Sunday.

Football and 60 Minutes always made it come on late......

by Anonymousreply 294December 4, 2020 6:55 PM

I agree with whoever said that they've chosen more interesting, off-the-beaten path countries this year -- Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Colombia, etc. I hate when they spoil the contestants too much with leg after leg in European capital cities.

by Anonymousreply 295December 4, 2020 6:58 PM

The football team are totally fuckbuddies.

by Anonymousreply 296December 4, 2020 7:44 PM

What do the Amazing Race contestants eat while on the race?

by Anonymousreply 297December 7, 2020 3:52 AM

Red Bull and Cliff Bars.

by Anonymousreply 298December 7, 2020 5:43 AM

"What do the Amazing Race contestants eat while on the race?"

Each other, silly!

by Anonymousreply 299December 7, 2020 2:42 PM

Just wanted to be post 300. Carry on.

by Anonymousreply 300December 7, 2020 2:54 PM

On your bucket list, steph?!

by Anonymousreply 301December 7, 2020 2:59 PM

We need some warm weather Detours where the VolleyBall boys and the NFL players can take off their shirts.....or more....

by Anonymousreply 302December 7, 2020 3:30 PM

Or they could go somewhere cold and still get in their speedos like Chip and Reichen in S4

by Anonymousreply 303December 7, 2020 3:40 PM

R298, I read an interview with some AR contestants about what they eat while racing, and it sounds bad -- lots of airport snacks, power bars, unhealthy junk food, and it all comes out of their 'allowance.' Damn, and here I thought the show was hooking them up with some decent local food/flavors.

by Anonymousreply 304December 7, 2020 10:02 PM

They probably don't want to risk the race r304 with the local cuisine. I wouldn't.

by Anonymousreply 305December 7, 2020 11:20 PM

R305, fair point!

by Anonymousreply 306December 8, 2020 12:34 AM

by Anonymousreply 307December 8, 2020 3:01 AM

R307 You're more annoying than the gays, repeating the same shit over and over again

by Anonymousreply 308December 8, 2020 3:02 AM

Is tonight the finale?

by Anonymousreply 309December 9, 2020 10:28 PM

by Anonymousreply 312December 9, 2020 11:58 PM

Please karma, come drag Will and James’ nelly bitchy asses.

by Anonymousreply 313December 10, 2020 1:07 AM

James is whining on Twitter tonight because she noticed how her and her nelly boyfriend are deservedly getting dragged on social media. Bitch, take several seats.

by Anonymousreply 314December 10, 2020 3:08 AM

I'm sorry to see who went home tonight. The last four teams are all smart, clever, interesting and engaging teams, but I guess there can only be one winner

by Anonymousreply 315December 10, 2020 3:37 AM

Will and James were fortunate throughout the season to be able to depend on James' big dick energy.

by Anonymousreply 316December 10, 2020 6:17 AM

Team Beard Bros.

by Anonymousreply 317December 10, 2020 6:30 AM

I hate sore losers. Yeah you got shafted, but then you proceeded to completely give up, and bitch and moan? Grow the fuck up.

That last challenge resembled classic TAR. All the teams know to remember flags, but throwing in the music was a great curveball.

by Anonymousreply 318December 10, 2020 6:38 AM

r316=James

by Anonymousreply 319December 10, 2020 6:39 AM

Team Gay boyfriends saying they're going to win in all in coming attractions usually means they probably won't. Prefer the other two teams, but good to see them freeze out the athletes. D'angelo really was a sore loser with bad attitude when he was talking with Phil.

by Anonymousreply 320December 10, 2020 6:39 AM

DL favorites Will and James are set to win it all. Who better to do tasks in New Orleans?

by Anonymousreply 321December 10, 2020 7:41 AM

I lost all respect for D’angelo tonight. There are hundreds of “teams” who have been trying to get on the show for years. These two got in a whole lot more easily because they were celebrities. Ugly American who doesn’t appreciate what he is given.

by Anonymousreply 322December 10, 2020 7:43 AM

That's why they shouldn't have contestants who are rich and who like him said he could visit all the places on the race on his own dime easily.

On the other hand, Amazing Race, unlike Survivor and Big Brother, is not supposed to be a social game, and there shouldn't be alliances. Phil's admonition to all of them at the beginning of the episode to not to help each other anymore for their own sake makes me think they may add a rule that teams cannot help each other. It would be the same as the rule not allowing a teammate to tell the other teammate how to do a challenge when only one of them is doing it. Viewers are going to want a fair fight.

by Anonymousreply 323December 10, 2020 7:51 AM

I kept waiting for DeAngelo to say, ha ha, just kidding. I loved the race and will memories that will last a lifetime. And then I realized he wasn’t joking and I was shocked. I can’t remember someone, especially someone who got this far in the race, tell Phil that they regretted doing it.

It came off worse now though with so much international travel shut down due to Covid. He could appreciate the privilege and opportunity he was given. Sad because I was feeling sorry for them that they were being excluded, but maybe the other teams say this in them as well and that’s why they got left out.

by Anonymousreply 324December 10, 2020 2:00 PM

I loved seeing the big calved athletes running in heels

Yea D'Angelo was the worst in the history of the show. And I liked them up until last night. I was also feeling sorry for them.....and then that happened.

I am Team Beard Bros. but I wouldn't mind if Hung & Chee won.....they are fighters.

by Anonymousreply 330December 10, 2020 3:49 PM

Yes, my friends. I am just a regular person, not a wealthy celebrity. My partner and I ran the race the best we could and had a good time.

I am sorry that not everyone can appreciate the opportunity. Please call CBS and ask for us to come back. We are waiting for your help, my friends.

And thank you.

by Anonymousreply 331December 10, 2020 3:50 PM

R331, they should bring Mirna and Charla back. They were [unintentional] comedy gold and drama.

by Anonymousreply 332December 10, 2020 3:52 PM

Especially when Charla put on the armor and had to get onto a horse......and Mirna had to drive a standard transmission car......

by Anonymousreply 333December 10, 2020 3:53 PM

Phil: "Charla and Mirna. For winning this leg of the race, you just won yourselves a catamaran!"

Mirna: "What's a catamaran?"

by Anonymousreply 334December 10, 2020 3:54 PM

I loved Mirna and Shmirna!

by Anonymousreply 335December 10, 2020 3:57 PM

R330, I was sort of giving DeAngelo a pass because he was probably still stung by the loss and upset about the other teams excluding them (and meathead athletes are hyper-competitive) but if he's still lashing out on social media -- well, that's not a very good look.

by Anonymousreply 336December 10, 2020 4:21 PM

Especially since some of the worst players (and not famous ones) in today's leagues get more money than some of the best and most famous players from years ago. DeAngelo said he could afford to take the trip he had just undertaken by himself. He couldn't understand the journey itself and not the goal is sometimes the prize. (Ok, a million bucks is great, but most other teams who have lasted a while before getting eliminated still have usually appreciated seeing some great places and bonding with their teammates, at least). He was rather disgraceful frankly.

by Anonymousreply 337December 10, 2020 4:42 PM

R337, they really should weed out people who are so rich the experience won't mean a thing to them. Or even worse, they need to eliminate contestants who don't even like traveling or appreciating other cultures -- I'm thinking of that tool, Cody from Big Brother, who kept going on about 'Murica, never seeming to appreciate any of the locations they were at.

by Anonymousreply 338December 10, 2020 4:49 PM

I read the spoilers, but that still sucked to watch. I don't blame DeAngelo for being bitter. But he did it to other teams, so...

by Anonymousreply 339December 10, 2020 5:17 PM

Hung snaps at Chee too much.

by Anonymousreply 340December 10, 2020 6:37 PM

DeAngelo, and especially Gary, running on heels was funny though. Kinda dangerous though -- I was expecting one of the men to twist an ankle.

by Anonymousreply 341December 10, 2020 7:01 PM

[quote]On the other hand, Amazing Race, unlike Survivor and Big Brother, is not supposed to be a social game, and there shouldn't be alliances.

This is exactly why, unless the rules are changed, I won't be watching another season of this show (assuming there even is another one). When you have teams working together to eliminate others (with the help of numerous Yields), it becomes as tedious as Survivor (which I haven't watched in years). You end up with the first two or three episodes where teams are working separately, then the middle four to ten episodes as you watch an "alliance" work to pick the others off, then the final episode (if you're still watching) to see who wins. ***Yawn***

R342, Phil didn't seem thrilled about the Mine 5 alliance. A lot of fans aren't happy about it either. If they do bring AR back for another season, I wouldn't be surprised if they ban teams working together.

by Anonymousreply 346December 10, 2020 9:17 PM

D'Angelo was happy to u-turn the indians but then when he gets eliminated it's "not fair".

by Anonymousreply 347December 10, 2020 9:34 PM

R347 DeAngelo is now about to fuck the Indians over again . See R326

by Anonymousreply 348December 10, 2020 9:39 PM

I've listened to DeAngelo's podcasts (with Gary) & it's clear that he loves his castmates & they adore him. He's very likable.

by Anonymousreply 349December 10, 2020 9:56 PM

He, indeed, WAS very likeable...right up until his exit from the race which was the most insulting, uncalled-for, exit from the entire series. It was offensive. How dare he act victimized when he was part of an alliance that did the same thing to other people including those blonde twins who sure as hell handled themselves with a thousand times more grace with their exit.

by Anonymousreply 350December 10, 2020 10:00 PM

Who was it that called the blondes cockroaches that need to be squashed or something like that? The blondes were very sweet, and you could tell they were lovely people by the positive way in which they handled their exit as well as their bad luck during their race. Very uncalled for that competitor to call them that.

by Anonymousreply 351December 10, 2020 10:18 PM

Sad to see Big Gary go. Good riddance to graceless and tacky D'Angelo.

by Anonymousreply 352December 10, 2020 10:19 PM

Didn't DeAngelo think it was somehow feminine or unmanly for Gary to say how much he likes art at one point during a challenge? I forget how he phrased it, but that was the impression I got.

by Anonymousreply 353December 10, 2020 10:22 PM

What is it with these people and READING THE FUCKING CLUE?

by Anonymousreply 354December 10, 2020 10:25 PM

The podcast is a lot of fun. The cast clearly adored each other.

DeAngelo's main gripe was with everything we don't see on TV. Lack of sleep, 10 hours waiting at the airport, etc. It's an interesting behind-the-scenes look at the show.

by Anonymousreply 355December 10, 2020 10:35 PM

And, R350, the podcast DeAngelo remains immensely likable. And real. Take a listen if you doubt.

by Anonymousreply 356December 10, 2020 10:41 PM

Never liked DeAngelo because he always treated the locals they encountered like crap. Whereas other teams would be polite to the locals (even when in a frenzied hurry), DeAngelo would rarely look them in the eye or otherwise acknowledge them. He treated the rest of the alliance the same way - always taking, never giving - so he shouldn't be surprised they got dropped from the alliance.

Agree about reading the fucking clue!

by Anonymousreply 357December 10, 2020 11:09 PM

James was whining on Twitter yesterday about the treatment him and Will been getting on social media. I read his bitch ass and manly told him to man the fuck up and own his stuff. Him and Will came off like high school mean girls, especially the way they did Leo and Alanna. Will and James deserve every bit of dragging.

by Anonymousreply 358December 10, 2020 11:43 PM

Learn how to use pronouns, r358.

by Anonymousreply 359December 10, 2020 11:48 PM

When De Angelo referred to the blondes as cockroaches, I think he mainly meant they won’t disappear like cockroaches and keep coming back. It was kind of a backhanded compliment, but one hears it more like the girls are cockroaches.

by Anonymousreply 360December 11, 2020 12:23 AM

R362. Top in the streets....

by Anonymousreply 363December 11, 2020 2:49 AM

DeAngelo has clarified that he loved the race but what he hated was, in effect, being in lockdown & confined to hotels in their downtime & not being able to see the sights beyond that which they saw in the various legs of the competition. He hated, for example, that he was in Paris but couldn’t see the Eiffel Tower other than from his hotel..

by Anonymousreply 364December 11, 2020 4:17 AM

James tweeted that DeAngelo supported him against the online haters (i.e. Deplorables), so DeAngelo can’t be all bad.

by Anonymousreply 365December 11, 2020 4:31 AM

DeAngelo isn't all bad but he is a multi millionaire pro athlete who is used to the finer things in life. Sleeping on an airport floor and being sequestered between legs was not this thing. He had never seen the show and had no idea how it worked or what he was getting into. He hated the show and wanted to quit from Day 1 but seems to be friends with all the teams now. Hhe is very salty about the Beard Bros but would have had no issue with teaming up with them to do the same to another team. He has a pod cast. He basically wheezes with laughter when James and Will tell him they made vision boards and put the Amazing Race on it 6 years ago!

by Anonymousreply 366December 11, 2020 4:37 AM

The Amazing Race 32's DeAngelo Williams and Gary Barnidge Clarify Their Post-Race Feelings and an Unseen Alliance

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 371December 11, 2020 1:44 PM

D'Angelo gained a lot of attention and fans during TAR.....and he lost most of them for his sour grapes final tantrum.

Phil gave him every opportunity to say something else or to temper his comments, but he did not. He is as big an ass as he seemed to be on the final few minutes of the show.

Who the fuck cares that he didn't get to see the sites? Did he go out and visit every city he played his stupid childish football game in - or did he stay in the hotel until time to go to the field....and return to it until time to go to the airport? My guess is he did NOT "see the sites."

Gary is running interference for him again. He needs to stop.

And D'Angelo didn't think the alliance was so bad when it was benefiting his ass and tromping on other players......

Shut up, D'Angelo and go enjoy your "millions" - we DON'T want to see you on the show again. I would watch Gary with a new partner......but if they're brought back together, it might be the first season of TAR I would skip.....

by Anonymousreply 372December 11, 2020 5:56 PM

Don’t you get it? He feels BETRAYED.

by Anonymousreply 373December 11, 2020 6:01 PM

Gary and DeAngelo should have taken the two hour penalty the moment they realized they were never going to solve the music puzzle and the other team weren't working with them.

by Anonymousreply 374December 11, 2020 6:05 PM

They didn’t realize that until too late, R374.

by Anonymousreply 375December 11, 2020 6:17 PM

Y’all can judge someone for being real in the moment you feel betrayed, but DeAngelo wasn’t a super fan & he brought with him the rules of sportsmanship he learned in football. If you listened to his podcast you couldn’t help but realize what Gary & his castmates, every one of them, know - that he’s a sweetheart.

by Anonymousreply 376December 11, 2020 6:22 PM

Has Gary ever mentioned if he's married or in a relationship? There's no reason a hunky, tall, athletic, artsy guy like him should be single.

by Anonymousreply 377December 11, 2020 6:26 PM

R241, Eswar *is* cute. I still have the first episode saved, you get Gary, DeAngelo, Leo, Eswar, Riley and Maddison shirtless. I noticed Eswar's bare chest in that episode but apparently no one else did. I did, however, notice Leo's spectacular ass in his tights (the Paris episode, "You Don't Strike Me as a Renaissance Man").

R377, I volunteer as tribute.

It would have been better if the Asian guy was the one who was named Hung.

by Anonymousreply 379December 11, 2020 8:12 PM

The D'Angelo apologists are tiresome.

by Anonymousreply 380December 11, 2020 8:37 PM

I'm actually surprised they aired DeAngelo's comment after losing.

by Anonymousreply 381December 11, 2020 9:29 PM

DeAngelo and Gary do themselves no favors in that interview. Their privilege and lack of perspective hurts.

by Anonymousreply 382December 11, 2020 9:44 PM

R381 Maybe Phil didn't like him (or the producers).

by Anonymousreply 383December 11, 2020 10:33 PM

R383, I have a suspicion that Phil maybe didn't like the way this season played out so much. Just a hunch. It's quite obvious when Survivor's Jeff Probst isn't thrilled about a season/contestants, but Phil is usually more of a cipher. This is the first time that I can remember him emphasizing for teams not to work together though.

by Anonymousreply 384December 11, 2020 10:37 PM

It was quite a sight seeing hunky Phil in high heel pumps! I dont like men in ladies clothing but I was strangely aroused.

by Anonymousreply 385December 11, 2020 11:21 PM

Wonder what would have happened if DeAngelo and Gary had read the last clue correctly? Would they have shared that info with the others? Would they been able to finish the task? Alliance or not, the reason they lost was because they did not read the clue correctly. Everyone seems to forget that.

by Anonymousreply 386December 11, 2020 11:34 PM

DeAngelo and Gary almost won. The first or one of their earliest attempts had the first three correct and the fourth case wrong. So close.

by Anonymousreply 387December 12, 2020 12:40 AM

Yeah, they really should've been told how many they had correct.

by Anonymousreply 388December 12, 2020 12:42 AM

I wonder if the bearded brothers ever jerk off together, you know, bro style

by Anonymousreply 389December 12, 2020 5:52 AM

R389, that's funny, lol.

by Anonymousreply 390December 12, 2020 6:39 AM

Trying to decide if it's worth watching tonight.

by Anonymousreply 391December 16, 2020 9:44 PM

Might as well see how it ends R391

by Anonymousreply 392December 16, 2020 9:45 PM

I hope I don’t lose power in the middle of all the excitement.

by Anonymousreply 393December 16, 2020 10:00 PM

Why is it that, what appears to be the most ungrateful, pompous, sore loser brat of a contestant this show has seen, is black?

by Anonymousreply 394December 16, 2020 10:15 PM

I'm going to go against the grain and predict that the boyfriends win tonight.

by Anonymousreply 395December 16, 2020 10:22 PM

If the boyfriends win, I can’t wait to see the social media dragging they’re going to DESERVEDLY get. Like it or not, the majority of TAR viewers don’t like them and the mean girlish way they played the game.

by Anonymousreply 396December 17, 2020 1:39 AM

The hardest challenge for the gays was eating carbs...

by Anonymousreply 397December 17, 2020 1:56 AM

They should've saved the music and flag challenge for the final leg.

by Anonymousreply 398December 17, 2020 1:58 AM

So…?

by Anonymousreply 399December 17, 2020 2:02 AM

Will asked James to marry him at the finish line, so sweet.

by Anonymousreply 400December 17, 2020 2:04 AM

An EnGAYgement!

by Anonymousreply 401December 17, 2020 2:07 AM

I was rooting for the gay boyfriends. If not them then I was hoping for the gay brothers. If not them then I was rooting for the gay asian couple.

by Anonymousreply 402December 17, 2020 2:38 AM

Did the DeAngelo haters here see the look of sheer joy on his face when the Boyfriends won?!

by Anonymousreply 403December 17, 2020 2:39 AM

Now I know why they waited two years to show it. What a crappy finale. It just screams 2020, doesn't it?

by Anonymousreply 404December 17, 2020 2:48 AM

I loved it. Some of you are so homophobic it's sad.

by Anonymousreply 405December 17, 2020 2:50 AM

Sit your bitch ass down r405! I was waiting for someone to throw out the “homophobic” word. It is not homophobic to call out bitchy mean girl behavior from gay men like Will and James. They showed their ass and should get dragged. Deal with it!

by Anonymousreply 406December 17, 2020 2:57 AM

R406, that's not your issue abd you know it. You immediately call them mean girls. Fuck off you miserable prick. You need a shrink.

"I was waiting for someone to throw out the “homophobic” word."

Yes. Internalized homophobes would.

Seek help.

by Anonymousreply 407December 17, 2020 3:08 AM

I wished producers had thrown in another mental challenge like in past seasons, but guess it was relegated to penultimate leg. Meh finale

by Anonymousreply 408December 17, 2020 3:21 AM

I agree that the music challenge should have been the last one

by Anonymousreply 409December 17, 2020 4:52 AM

Did they get their money already? Seems odd to make them wait for two years.

by Anonymousreply 410December 17, 2020 6:19 AM

R397, hilarious!

by Anonymousreply 411December 17, 2020 7:32 AM

I was surprised that James didn’t flash his huge cock in order to get more beads, but maybe that just wasn’t shown. In the beignet eating, Will and James got what they deserved for being healthy eaters. DLers could have eaten a dozen beignets plus a king cake with no problem.

by Anonymousreply 412December 17, 2020 8:03 AM

How many gay teams have won AR now?

by Anonymousreply 413December 17, 2020 8:06 AM

[quote] I was waiting for someone to throw out the “homophobic” word. It is not homophobic

No offense to those who criticize them for how they behave, but it would be more accurate to refer to the Will and James haters as self-loathing. It bothers them greatly to see gay men act like gay men in public and they want to try to distance themselves from gay behavior.

by Anonymousreply 414December 17, 2020 8:11 AM

Go all around the world and a shitty immigrant taxi driver caused the hot bearded bros to lose. Never watching this stupid show again. The gays are disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 415December 17, 2020 9:18 AM

[quote] Go all around the world and a shitty immigrant taxi driver caused the hot bearded bros to lose.

Both the beards and the Asians had a chance to get ahead if they had found the baby first and eaten the beignets while the boyfriends were choking.

by Anonymousreply 416December 17, 2020 9:39 AM

The Beard Brothers were not happy about finishing third. Of course, they’re unhappy, but they don’t have to share it with the rest of the country.... There something about good sportsmanship; we try to teach it to our kids. But I guess the real poor example is the President. How can we counter that?

by Anonymousreply 417December 17, 2020 10:15 AM

r415 Why was "immigrant" a necessary modifier in your statement, when "shitty" would have sufficed? Oh I get it, you're racist

by Anonymousreply 418December 17, 2020 12:52 PM

The Bearded Bros. did seem pissed off at the end. The Asians said some nice things and were smiling, but the brothers just scowled.

by Anonymousreply 419December 17, 2020 12:57 PM

The finale was underwhelming not because the boyfriends won but because the challenges left no chance for the others to catchup. Half way through the episode, it was clear that the gays would win. No suspense!!. I liked the Cody and Jessica season where they won at the last challenge.

The gays had of course been Mardi gras so they new where the Armstrong thingy was. The twink even knew what the baby doll looked like so they generally had an advantage over the others.

by Anonymousreply 420December 17, 2020 2:20 PM

It's been a broken show for 10+ seasons now. There is no "race" anymore, just a reality show with people who are not always very likable. Good on Fred Armisen and Will -- I guess the alliance thing paid off after all -- but his was the only leg where no one had a chance to catch up after being bunched because the "challenges" were so straightforward. I'm officially over the show because it's missing what I originally loved so much about it.

by Anonymousreply 421December 17, 2020 2:45 PM

Regardless of how people feel about them, Will and James killed that last leg. Editors couldn't even manufacture suspense to make it seem like it was close.

I'm fine with W&J winning. This show has had so many straightbros win -- going all the way back to the original season.

by Anonymousreply 422December 17, 2020 4:33 PM

That final challenge wasn’t terribly exciting. Didn’t really offer anyone behind any chance to catch up. Notice how the owner of Marci Gras World insisted on being included and identified? Like Dolan Trump in Home Alone 2.

by Anonymousreply 423December 17, 2020 4:49 PM

Donald^

by Anonymousreply 424December 17, 2020 4:50 PM

[quote]How many gay teams have won AR now?

At least three: W&J, Chip and Reichen, and the Beekman Boys.

by Anonymousreply 425December 17, 2020 5:25 PM

We’re clever AND cunning.

by Anonymousreply 426December 17, 2020 5:59 PM

But on DL we're clever and CUNTING.

by Anonymousreply 427December 17, 2020 6:41 PM

[quote]Will and James killed that last leg

Their cab driver killed the last leg for them. Finishing order for every task was the exact same order as the cabs arrived at the first clue box. None of the tasks were challenging.

by Anonymousreply 428December 17, 2020 7:53 PM

No—they gained a lot of time on the King Cake challenge, almost lost at the horror of eating carbs.

by Anonymousreply 429December 17, 2020 8:28 PM

I love this show and I'll keep watching it until they don't make it any more (I even sent in an application tape once), but that was the most anti-climactic ending in its history.

by Anonymousreply 430December 17, 2020 8:28 PM

[quote] Their cab driver killed the last leg for them.

True. But success on this show has always largely depended upon the competence of random taxi and tuk-tuk drivers winding their way through traffic and not getting lost.

by Anonymousreply 431December 17, 2020 8:32 PM

For anyone (probably no one) interested, Will and James have a YouTube channel and have been posting recap videos

by Anonymousreply 432December 17, 2020 9:30 PM

I'm not unhappy that Will & James won.......but I am unhappy that Maddison & Riley lost......

As other posters have mentioned there was a surprising lack of tension in the episode. And I couldn't stand to look at that cunt D'Angelo's face as the teams ran past him......

by Anonymousreply 433December 17, 2020 10:24 PM

I miss the airport strategizing. My favorite was when they would have teams all taking ridiculous connections to get some distant place and so you have teams with layovers in Ireland and others in Dubai and others stranded somewhere. It seems like all the flights are just prebooked now which neutralizes everything way too often. I loved the route planning. And it doesn't seem like they do a strict 12 hours from when you check in until the next leg anymore either.

Whatever, I'll still watch but it doesn't interest me nearly as much as it once did. Eswar and Leo were definitely hot and neither is my usual type, so that was fun. Didn't Tyler and Korey win one of their seasons? The gays are often very competent on this show whether or not they're likable.

by Anonymousreply 434December 17, 2020 10:40 PM

Why makes you think James has sizemeat?

by Anonymousreply 435December 17, 2020 10:45 PM

Glad I saw the boyfriends do the, "Miss America" cry.

by Anonymousreply 436December 17, 2020 11:24 PM

I prefer it when the last challenges are super hard so you have no idea who is going to win. It's boring when it just comes down to who finishes the first of the challenges the fastest.

by Anonymousreply 437December 18, 2020 1:05 AM

That finale sucked, and not because Will & James won. The brothers fell behind quickly, and although, for a brief time, they were all digging through the king cakes together, it was clear they never had a chance of gaining ground.

After Will & James left for the bridge, I don’t think either of the teams even laid eyes on them. There was nothing the editors could do. Who wants to watch a race for second place, and even that wasn’t close.

The final challenge with the globe was stupid. There needed to be a memory element to it, like now that the globe is built, attach numbers to the map in order of the pit stops on the race. Also match the currency/language/something with the location. I remember on past finales they had to do stuff like that and it really took some attention to detail.

Will & James did what I would have done if selected to be on the race. They watched each season multiple times and studied what teams did wrong and right. They then created an alliance that helped them get to the end. It’s smart play, but it doesn’t make for a very exciting experience for the viewer.

by Anonymousreply 438December 18, 2020 1:18 AM

No way I'd be apart of an alliance if I made it to the show. I want to beat everyone all by myself.

by Anonymousreply 439December 18, 2020 1:28 AM

R439 and the sad thing Is that from now on all teams will be forming alliances since they've seen it works. To not be part of one means you get ganged up on.

by Anonymousreply 440December 18, 2020 1:42 AM

[quote] The brothers fell behind quickly, and although, for a brief time, they were all digging through the king cakes together, it was clear they never had a chance of gaining ground.

That’s not correct. It was evident that Will had a better strategy/technique to find the baby and that preserved their lead. If the other teams had done better and Will had done worse at the challenge, they could have finished first. Also, speaking of luck, the other two could have randomly picked the cake that had the baby and leapfrogged ahead. It wasn’t set in stone.

by Anonymousreply 441December 18, 2020 1:44 AM

[quote] the sad thing Is that from now on all teams will be forming alliances since they've seen it works.

It’s like the use of Ferns, but the rules will change to fix it.

by Anonymousreply 442December 18, 2020 1:48 AM

R441, I meant from an editing/confidence/lack of energy standpoint that the brothers never had a chance of overtaking them. That edit of them at the beginning jumping out of the cab at the wrong place and running around set the tone for their whole final leg. The writing was on the wall and it wasn’t subtle.

They seemed to be missing the spark they had throughout most of the race. It’s like watching a basketball or football game where one team goes down early and though it’s obviously possible for them to stage a comeback, the audience (and the team) just knows it’s not in the cards that day.

by Anonymousreply 443December 18, 2020 1:52 AM

When Will & James kept mentioning that they'd been to New Orleans quite a bit, I wondered how many of those times were for Southern Decadence.

by Anonymousreply 444December 18, 2020 3:26 AM

Ugh. The mean gurls won. Least deserving winners ever.

by Anonymousreply 445December 18, 2020 3:50 AM

R445, they're nowhere near the worst or least deserving. There have been some truly grotesque teams who have won (Flo & Zach, Freddy & Kendra, Cody & Jessica). All straight couples, too, by the way.

by Anonymousreply 446December 18, 2020 3:55 AM

Was Kendra the cunt who, when they were in an African village, said "eew why do they keep BREEDING?"

If so, then they were the worst team to ever win. I remember throwing my drink at the TV when they crossed the finish line.

by Anonymousreply 447December 18, 2020 4:04 AM

R447, she said something along those lines, yep.

by Anonymousreply 448December 18, 2020 4:09 AM

The homos set gays back by 50 years with their gestures and acting like fags.

by Anonymousreply 449December 18, 2020 4:12 AM

There seems to be fewer and fewer gays on TV these days and what we get are all mincing queens like these two, the fat guy in the Prom, Drag Race. Sick of it.

by Anonymousreply 450December 18, 2020 4:32 AM

R450 Maybe you should apply so viewers can get a taste of what a Masculine Alpha Gay posting on gay gossip message boards is like.

by Anonymousreply 451December 18, 2020 4:36 AM

Since this show was filmed so long ago, and they got engaged at the end, have they gotten married yet?

by Anonymousreply 452December 18, 2020 5:27 AM

R434--I am watching old seasons on hulu. I also really miss the planning their own travel aspect of early seasons and I miss them having money to get them through the legs and financing being part of the strategy. When people had their cash taken as a penalty, it was pretty terrible, begging in countries where people are poor as hell. But those aspects are what made the race like real traveling. They don't seem to sleep outside in front of museums that are closed and so forth any more, either. Consolidating the travel for all the teams probably saves tons on production costs.

Looking back: there have been some HORRIBLE winners, the already mentioned Freddy and Kendra, that snotty bitch, were pretty awful, & Flo of Flo & Zach was a whiny jerk. Would you believe she dated Drew the twin for seven years after they raced? Worst contestants ever are Jonathan and Victoria, if only they'd been eliminated earlier. Stassi on the family season saw herself on teevee and got that chin implant and bleached her hair blond right after the show, I am betting.

by Anonymousreply 453December 18, 2020 5:34 AM

R452 No, they're not married yet

by Anonymousreply 454December 18, 2020 5:40 AM

Loved seeing Gary again, even it was waiting at the final mat. He rally stands out in a crowd - literally!

by Anonymousreply 455December 18, 2020 5:42 AM

even though the boyfriends/engaged could be annoying, I was still touched by the finale and the proposal

by Anonymousreply 456December 18, 2020 5:57 AM

What do the Second-place and third-place racers receive as a prize?

by Anonymousreply 457December 18, 2020 5:58 AM

R457

What does second place win on the show? $25,000

While it’s only a small percentage of the winning team’s prize, they aren’t left short of money by ending the show as runners up.

The third place team win $10,000, while the first team to be eliminated are sent home with $1,500. So all participants leave with some cash!

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 458December 18, 2020 6:15 AM

That’s just 4 teams—not all.

by Anonymousreply 459December 18, 2020 6:24 AM

I can totally see how prebooking seats for everyone way in advance as you plan the itinerary is probably infinitely cheaper than dozens of last-minute full fare tickets on long haul international flights. It did always strike me that the tickets they were buying were probably very expensive. I'm so glad they got rid of the begging, though. That was utter cringe - (usually) white Americans with a camera crew hitting up people for cash in poor countries was the single worst aspect of the show.

by Anonymousreply 460December 18, 2020 6:52 AM

If you want to see THE AMAZING RACE in its "pure" form, you have to go back to the first 4 seasons. From booking their own flights to the appearance of Fast Forwards (remember them?) on almost every leg, those early races are rather AMAZING compared to the dumbed-down version we now have. (If you want to see just how intricate the Race could be, check out seasons 2 and 3, especially.)

Starting with Season 5, we had the introduction of the Yield, the non-elimination penalty (taking the team's money away), and the reduction of Fast Forwards to only 2 in the whole race. Even so, much of the flight arrangements were still left up to the teams -- enabling Colin & Christie to get so far ahead of the other teams that they were hit by a very suspicious site closure in Egypt. (The sign indicating the Hours of Operation looked like it had been scrawled in Magic Marker by some PA.)

Flight booking was never so free after that. Teams were limited in various ways: having to use specific travel agents with specific hours of operation; having only a few airlines available to book; or having the flights pre-selected. Same with bus or train travel. For awhile, the Race was able to disguise much of this behind-the-scenes manipulation. If they figured that a leg would probably end at 2 or 3 in the afternoon, they had no problem with teams leaving the pitstop at 2 or 3 in the morning, knowing that there was little they could do in the middle of the night. (Nowadays, however, they have even stopped using a strict 12-HOUR pitstop. We're never given arrival times and are just told that so-&-so are the first team to depart whenever. The length of the pitstop is obviously whatever is in the best interests of the production.)

As each leg is its own mini-race, doing well no longer carries any benefit moving forward.

by Anonymousreply 461December 18, 2020 7:38 AM

I do hope they renew this show for another season. It's one of the only things I watch/enjoy from network television.

by Anonymousreply 462December 18, 2020 8:19 AM

Should be re-named The Amazing Obstacle Courses. The flights are pointless now. The show has jumped the shark.

by Anonymousreply 463December 18, 2020 8:32 AM

What made this show so "Amazing" when it first appeared was that teams could book all these flights around the world on the spot and make it a true race.. The huge expenses were what made this show bigger than life. Now it's a fucking Tough Mudder course...who cares.

by Anonymousreply 464December 18, 2020 8:36 AM

Fear Factor seemed to have had a big influence on the show. In the beginning, The Amazing Race didn’t have nasty food eating or bungee jumps. It was about using your wits. TAR added those in later. Also, I miss having the contestants figure out where they were going. Now they specifically state what city to go to.

by Anonymousreply 465December 18, 2020 8:55 AM

This was a very disappointing season overall. Some of the destinations were interesting (France in particular), but the challenges often seemed pointless, and many times were not as difficult as in prior seasons. And can we find something else to focus on, rather than bungee jumping?

Will and James were insufferable. I kept wishing they would screw up so they could be eliminated. No such luck. And listening to them talk was like fingernails on a chalkboard.

I wanted Leo and Alana to win. I'm with the poster above. I thought Leo, with his tights and compact body, was adorable. Fit nerds are sexy, IMHO.

by Anonymousreply 466December 18, 2020 9:13 AM

I still can’t believe Will was on America’s Next Top Model and came in 2nd. Watching him I never thought wow he’s model hot. But I guess you just have to be 6’6 and bone thin. I’ll take Gary and the hot gay nerd Leo.

by Anonymousreply 467December 18, 2020 9:35 AM

If the homos get married, it won’t last. How do they not annoy each other?

by Anonymousreply 468December 18, 2020 11:18 AM

How does James land a hottie like Will?

by Anonymousreply 469December 18, 2020 1:20 PM

Are we to believe Will carried that engagement ring during the whole race? Did he pick it up in the Philippines when Will wasn't looking?

by Anonymousreply 470December 18, 2020 2:13 PM

R470, Will had Imeda Marcos on speed dial. Mabuhay!

by Anonymousreply 471December 18, 2020 2:18 PM

Off topic, but I hate it when gays get down on one knee and present a ring. Does that make them the top?

by Anonymousreply 472December 18, 2020 2:21 PM

Are Will and James female? They sure act it.

by Anonymousreply 473December 18, 2020 3:19 PM

It is hilarious that Will and James are so hated here, I would roughly estimate they accurately represent about 70% of all the gay people I have ever met. While I am a gay man, I am nothing like Will and James but they didn't bother me. In fact none of the teams bothered me. It is a TV show, if you didn't care for the people on it, I don't know why you bothered watching it.

by Anonymousreply 474December 18, 2020 5:01 PM

I always root for the gay team, but when they were in the lead and uturned the Nerds just for spite, I changed my mind. I find them obnoxious and unlikable, having nothing to do with their being gay. They also ruined the entire show with the alliances.

by Anonymousreply 475December 18, 2020 5:19 PM

Go away, Covid. Give us back our real TAR!

by Anonymousreply 476December 18, 2020 5:27 PM

R475, did they really U- turn them out of spite though? If I remember correctly, they seemed to be under the belief that the Nerds were threats for some reason -- which I don't really get. Maybe they thought they would be dangerous in puzzle-type challenges?

by Anonymousreply 477December 18, 2020 5:28 PM

I liked that the male nerd said at the finale, how could he love a team so much that had u-turned him

by Anonymousreply 478December 18, 2020 6:01 PM

The male nerd reminded me of a hotter, skinnier Johnny Galecki as Leonard from "Big Bang Theory" but with facial hair

by Anonymousreply 479December 18, 2020 6:53 PM

I’m glad the gays are getting all the hate. They deserve it. Snd just because they are gay, that doesn’t mean they have to act like stereotypical homo queens. No wonder the straights are grossed out by fem homos.

by Anonymousreply 480December 18, 2020 7:01 PM

That’s who they are. They don’t have to butch it up to spare you embarrassment.

by Anonymousreply 481December 18, 2020 7:15 PM

Maybe some straights hate them, but all the other teams had tears in their eyes, of course except for the beard bros and the married Asians, but everyone else was thrilled that they won

by Anonymousreply 482December 18, 2020 7:35 PM

Totally agree r475!

*I*liked Will and James, they played hard, they made friends, they used the advantages at their disposal and they won with KING CAKE!

R453 [quote] Looking back: there have been some HORRIBLE winners...

What happened to Freddy and Kendra Amazing Race?

They tied the knot on May 27, 2005 and had two children together before divorcing. Freddy's since remarried, to a woman named Ginger in 2015. Kendra's appeared to have moved on as well, as her Instagram page is full of date night photos with an unidentified male who seems to be the father of her younger children. (Jun 27, 2019)

Where is Flo from amazing race now?

Florinka is currently the director of public relations for Gucci. Zach also works in the company as a production assistant. She started out on the Amazing Race season (3.Oct 12, 2020)

Are Jonathan and Victoria still together?

On October 6, 2006, Victoria gave birth to their daughter, Trease Alynette Baker. Jonathan & Victoria have since divorced sometime in January 2010.

At least DL is equal opportunity when it comes to it's hate of gays.

by Anonymousreply 486December 18, 2020 9:10 PM

Where are Charla and Mirna?

by Anonymousreply 487December 18, 2020 10:17 PM

Jonathan and Victoria!

THE WORST OF ALL TIME!

I wanted to reach through the TV and yank Jonathan's scraggly hair and kick him in his nuts. What a spastic, abusive, ridiculous son-of-a-cunt.

by Anonymousreply 488December 18, 2020 10:57 PM

I disliked - not hated - W&J the same way I dislike annoying young blonde teams. All histrionics. Everything is over the top and at a high pitch. Has nothing to do with them being gay, just annoying. I never liked the clowns either, and they were straight men. Danny and Oscar form season 2 were even femmier gays than W&J but I loved them.

*Danny and Oswald

Goodbye homos. We know you won’t last.

Which season is the most exciting?

[quote]Which season is the most exciting?

Season 2 had the most exciting finish. Literally a couple dozen yards separated the final teams at the finish line in San Francisco.

Season 2 also features a solid cast (including "villains" Wil & Tara and gay best friends Oswald & Danny) and a really interesting route (Brazil, South Africa, Namibia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Oceania, Hawaii, and Alaska).

by Anonymousreply 494December 19, 2020 9:23 AM

I met the infamous Oswald once at TARcon. Danny and Oswald were the Will and James of their day:

Oh please! Everyone loved Danny and Oswald, everyone hates Will and James.

Which season did one of the final teams never get out of Australia on the final leg?

by Anonymousreply 497December 19, 2020 12:47 PM

Oswald was SO cute. And I thought Chip was quite good-looking as well. (Better than Reichen.)

[quote]Which season did one of the final teams never get out of Australia on the final leg?

Season 4. "Best Friends" David & Jeff were in first place leaving the pit stop in Queensland, but they ended up stuck in the airport in Sydney. They hadn't booked a connecting flight to Hawaii, thinking that they could get one upon arrival in Sydney. They were wrong. The other two teams -- Chip & Reichen and Jon & Kelly -- did not make the same mistake.

I never saw seasons 1 or 2, so I'm watching them on Hulu.

Season one is SO unpolished. No Phil at the mat, lots of focus on travel and airports, lots of "find x" instead of actual tasks. I feel like I'm getting to know the racers a lot better, but I like the current iteration more. There was so little urgency.

by Anonymousreply 500December 20, 2020 8:50 AM

The boyfriends were so irritating. I wanted Hung and Chee to win.

What I really disliked about the episode though was the digging through the king cakes. It was so wasteful and a huge mess that someone had to clean up. Each person went through what, about 50 cakes? I hate throwing away food and to see it on display like this is really a shame.

by Anonymousreply 501December 20, 2020 2:45 PM

r501 I literally wept.

by Anonymousreply 502December 20, 2020 3:19 PM

All those cakes! Hundreds of cakes--ruined! That could have been a nice little in-between snack for someone!

by Anonymousreply 503December 20, 2020 4:01 PM

Oh please R503. They sent the leftovers to Chrissy. She was in hog heaven.

by Anonymousreply 504December 21, 2020 6:23 AM

Do those king cakes taste as dry as they look?

by Anonymousreply 505December 21, 2020 6:25 AM

Those beignets looked delicious

by Anonymousreply 506December 21, 2020 6:33 AM

They’re kind of like an Entenmann’s Danish.

by Anonymousreply 507December 21, 2020 6:46 AM

Those looked like basic cinnamon swirl king cakes, which can be dryish. But king cakes come in many varieties. I've had fancy flavors: chocolate, cream cheese, Chantilly cream and berries, goat cheese and apples, orange, pecan and bourbon, pralines, fillings. These were all from bakeries. Last year we tried a coconut one from James Beard award winning bakery, Dong Phuong, which was delicious, but the wait in line was brutal, once was enough. I don't love the sprinkles on top or the frosting, I usually poke it off, however, Dong Phuong's frosting was different than other king cake frostings and tasted great..

TL;DR? Good king cake is very good, though the grocery store kinds can be a little blah.

by Anonymousreply 508December 21, 2020 4:12 PM

They should've just put Chrissy at the end of the long tables and thrown the mushed up cake in her direction to keep the tables clean. Any missed plastic babies would join the rest of accidentally-consumed non food items shoved in a pocket at the bottom of her small intestine.

by Anonymousreply 509December 22, 2020 2:29 AM

Homos are the least deserving winners, ever.

by Anonymousreply 510December 22, 2020 2:56 AM

Listening to Gary & DeAngelo’s podcast, Will & James winning margin was about 3 hours over Hung & Chee, with the Beard Bros coming in 30 minutes later. And DeAngelo cried at Will & James’s proposal.

by Anonymousreply 511December 23, 2020 2:12 AM

I want to watch a season with people who have never been overseas trying to cope - that would be entertaining.

by Anonymousreply 512December 23, 2020 9:27 AM

HA! We can thank those nelly ass bitches Will and James for this. Thank you TAR for realizing this is a problem that needs to be corrected.

Wow, they really were the best team this season. That’s a very convincing win.

Who were the most obnoxious teams ever, other than the obvious Johnathon and Victoria.

I vote for Brendan and Rachel
