I'm not attracted to Tom Cruise, ever, but damn he was hot in Top Gun. He was 23.
Celebrities At Their Most Attractive Time
|by Anonymous||reply 260||10/23/2020|
He was pleasant looking in Top Gun OP.
But it's totally impossible to look at Cruise in any timeline and find him attractive now because we know just how incredibly batshit crazy and repulsive he is.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||10/13/2020|
In that photo he looks more like 32.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||10/13/2020|
I can't decide if Cary Grant was hotter in his 20s, 30s, 40s, or 50s.

R19 From the same movie. Gorgeous.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||10/13/2020|
Taylor's face was pretty but oh so forgettable; I think it's because of his jawline - it was just so nondescript.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||10/13/2020|
Brad Pitt has been fine for so many years, his most attractive moment is simply a matter of your personal taste!

Angelina was deemed “too old”.
Beyoncé was deemed “not attractive”..... (enough?)

You ONLY found him "hot" in that ONE movie, but you're "not attracted" to him in any other movie he made around that time? That makes zero sense.

Cesar Romero had a character actors face and was definitely a more handsome man when he was mature, but I think he looked smashing in his 20s, such as in Devil is a Woman. He wasn't a handsome young man but he was so sexy with that Iberian angularity. Usually only see it in North Africa, Iberia, and Latin America. Can sometimes sneak into Ireland or France.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||10/14/2020|
also the set of the mouth, carnal
|by Anonymous||reply 39||10/14/2020|
Many pretty boys look best when they are, in fact, young, 20s-30s, but sometimes they hit a sweet spot again right before they go completely to seed. Paul Rudd, Ben Affleck, Jude Law, Jonny Lee Miller, Hugh Grant (and it was a shock, blink and you missed it). Colin Farrell is a challenging one because he's actually young at 44 and shouldn't go completely to seed until his 50s but he's been dancing back and forth for a few years. You think he's gone to seed and a fatty and then the next year, nope, and then it's gone, and then it's back.
Paul Newman and Cary Grant looked great forever.

Richard Gere was another one. Hot young stud, then meh meh meh meh and then around 60, RIGHT before old man, he was a sexy silver zaddy. He's now 71.

Robert Conrad in "The Wild, Wild West." He knew he was in amazing physical shape, so he made sure his pants were as tight as possible and that several episodes featured him shirtless. I always had wondered why the villains would routinely have him stripped to the waist when he was tied down for one reason or another. I read a story about his training regimen and he claimed he never lifted weights. He would run daily, do hundreds of sit-ups and hit the punching bag.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||10/14/2020|
RON Hudson? Really? What’s happening to the world?
|by Anonymous||reply 45||10/14/2020|
I thought Belinda Carlisle was so much prettier with her blonde hair before she started dying it red.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||10/14/2020|
Leonardo DiCaprio in Marvin's Room. He was at the height of his beauty in this film, and he had his natural dark blonde/light brown hair color which looks best on him imo.
In Romeo + Juliet he looked like a child (which is funny because it was made a few months after MR), and in Titanic his skin was already starting to look sun damaged.

|by Anonymous||reply 61||10/14/2020|
Tim Hutton and Robert Sean Leonard lost their looks after being cute twinks. Nicholas Hoult seems to be keeping his. I wouldn't throw current Lee Pace out of my bed, but his sweet spot was much younger.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||10/14/2020|
Dermot Mulroney right about here.

Aiden Quinn was a beautiful young man than kind of disappeared. Then, just before becoming a old man, he showed up being sexy on Elementary.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||10/14/2020|
Titus Welliver was NOT a handsome young man, but now he's sexy on Bosch. He doesn't even have a body! Just the voice and the late 50s face does it for me.

James McAvoy in Atonement.
|by Anonymous||reply 76||10/14/2020|
Ewan McGregor in The Pillow Book. To me he's the kind of actor who's always relied more on charisma than real handsomeness, but he was beautiful in this.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||10/14/2020|
I seem to remember a brief, gratuitous scene in ARGO, of all movies, where Ben Affleck is getting out of a shower, and he looks amazing in it. The fact that Affleck also directed the film makes the inclusion of the scene somewhat amusing, but it sure is hot.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||10/14/2020|
Chris Sarandon was so hot in Fright Night. The nightclub scene in particular.
Mark Ruffalo has always reminded me a bit of him in this, maybe that’s why I have a thing for Ruffalo as well.

Hello, dear, I don’t watch Tammy Cruise movies, however, I was watching Berlin‘s “take my breath away” video which includes clips of the movie. Take a seat.

[quote]I don’t watch Tammy Cruise movies, however, I was watching Berlin‘s “take my breath away” video which includes clips of the movie.
Umm, if you "don't watch" his movies, and your comment about TOP GUN was based only on clips that are included in a music video, all the more reason why it's so weird for you to say that you were never "attracted" to him in any other movie. P.S. Referring to him as "Tammy" is a tired joke and no longer funny (if it ever was).
On another note: R80, thank you for that Ben Affleck image :-)

Anthony Perkins, Green Mansions
|by Anonymous||reply 85||10/14/2020|
John Gielgud in his 20s and 30s was a fairly attractive man.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||10/14/2020|
Tom was gorgeous in War of the Worlds. He was 43.
Leo was gorgeous in Blood Diamond. He was 33, I think.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||10/14/2020|
Gregory Peck is probably my #1 most handsome movie star ever, and I liked the way he looked in On The Beach. It came out in 1959. He would’ve been 42 or 43 here, and I think that’s when many men look their best.
Bonus cutie Anthony Perkins and his knee socks.

Johnny kept his looks for a long time, longer than he deserved. The first time I really noticed his aging was in Public Enemies, when he was in his mid-40s.
|by Anonymous||reply 107||10/14/2020|
Tom Cruise has been hot throughout his career..at some points ridiculously hot. He’s still attractive now although in 2020 he’s had moments where he looks pudgy and bloated and at his worst, resembles Pete Buttigieg. Anyway, I thought he looked beautiful around the MI2 era with the slightly longer hair.
|by Anonymous||reply 108||10/14/2020|
R108, Pete isn't pudgy or bloated. And he isn't a walking testament to plastic surgery like Tommy Gurl

|by Anonymous||reply 112||10/14/2020|
I thought Tammy looked particularly good in Vanilla Sky; at this point he'd really grown into his face, losing the last of the baby fat that made his face look oddly-shaped. He was about 38 years old, and was aging really well, sort of like pre-Babs James Brolin.

Rhonda Fleming back in the day. She just died at age 97.
|by Anonymous||reply 195||10/17/2020|
Love this thread. So many of the pics are from the 1990s. This says something about the age of the posters and/or that was the last decade in recent memory when so many celebrities were especially good looking. Before that, it was the 1950s.

Couldn't find a good pic, but Lorenzo Lamas as a blond in "Grease".

r96 .....A Walk on the Moon...I would have run away with him leaving my boring Jewish husband way behind
|by Anonymous||reply 199||10/17/2020|
Sorry, r173, but I actually think Brendan Fraser looked the most attractive in his George of the Jungle days.
(Guess the GIF won't preview -- you'll have to click on it).
Too bad his looks hit the wall so hard.
|by Anonymous||reply 200||10/17/2020|
James Spader in 1985, in the TV film Starcrossed. (I remember seeing it as a kid and being wowed by the beauty of the actors -- Belinda Bauer looked very good in that film too.)
Too bad Spader's another one who hit the wall HARD when he lost his hair and got fat. But at least he had a good run.
|by Anonymous||reply 201||10/17/2020|
Jeff Bridges in Jagged Edge. An absolute beauty.
|by Anonymous||reply 202||10/17/2020|
Matt Dillon peaked as Sam Lombardo in Wild Things
|by Anonymous||reply 203||10/17/2020|
Young celebrities are in their most attractive time NOW, so that explains why so many pictures are stars from the 1990s. Stars like Brad Pitt and Jude Law are still around enough to be famous, but we all know they are past their peak of freshness. In 20 years, gays will be talking about when Chalamet peaked in CMBYN or Dune or something.

Tom Selleck in 3 Men and a Baby
Hot af as Magnum, of course, but I like him in this. I love big, hairy men in tank tops and tiny shorts.
|by Anonymous||reply 210||10/17/2020|
Charlie Hunnam in Pacific Rim. I couldn’t get into him in Sons of Anarchy, he was such an ass.
|by Anonymous||reply 211||10/17/2020|
Joaquin Phoenix in the very late 90’s and early 00’s. He was fucking beautiful and it’s just gone now. His role in 8MM was peak sexiness.

Charles Chaplin, age 25

Rock before AIDS
|by Anonymous||reply 218||10/18/2020|
Chaplin was never hot. And he was short, too
|by Anonymous||reply 219||10/18/2020|
Eddie Cibrian comes from a long tradition of delicious lite-acting TV hunks, aged 25-40.
|by Anonymous||reply 220||10/18/2020|
Chaplin was cute, r219, and he was truly a genius at moviemaking for a time. Did you know that he composed music too, and wrote the score for City Lights himself?
Too bad he was a pedophile. (Yes, yes, I know DL's resident NAMBLA trolls will come out and say that he was an "Ephebephile", but I won't split hairs here -- he was plain gross that way.)
|by Anonymous||reply 221||10/18/2020|
R221 - we cannot blame Chaplin for his attraction to younger partners. It wasn’t well known back then that pedophilia was wrong. People just did what felt natural, with no ill intentions.
|by Anonymous||reply 222||10/18/2020|
R222, he only married one of his wives to beat statutory rape charges. So, no, not everyone thought it was great for grown men to sleep with underage girls.
|by Anonymous||reply 223||10/18/2020|
Chaplin was an ephebophile, not a pedophile. He liked teenage girls. An important distinction, I think.
|by Anonymous||reply 224||10/18/2020|
Maxwell Caulfield back in the day. A real babe.
|by Anonymous||reply 225||10/18/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 226||10/18/2020|
Thanks for appearing right on schedule, dear NAMBLA member at r224.
|by Anonymous||reply 227||10/18/2020|
R227 - I get what you’re saying, but I think it’s much more acceptable to be attracted to a 17 year old than a 4 year old child.
|by Anonymous||reply 228||10/18/2020|
Nice ad hominem attack, R227, but my point still stands: Fucking teenagers is icky and actionable but not the horror that molesting five-year-olds is.
|by Anonymous||reply 229||10/18/2020|
There IS a difference between an ephebophile and a pedophile, hence why there are two distinct terms for the conditions. But virtue-signalers like R227 like to act like there is no difference. It makes the insults more dramatic and makes them feel even more woke. In reality, it just makes them sound like hysterical Karens.
|by Anonymous||reply 230||10/18/2020|
230 replies and not one mention of Barbra in "What's Up, Doc?" is just shameful.
|by Anonymous||reply 231||10/18/2020|
I like Tom with a young Barry Gibb vibe.
|by Anonymous||reply 232||10/18/2020|
She did look great in that movie. And she got to bang Ryan O'Neill at his hottest. Must have been a fun shoot!
|by Anonymous||reply 233||10/18/2020|
Barbra was always better in comedy roles in dramatic ones. If she'd stuck with comedy in the late 70s and early 80s instead of doing all those heavy films, she'd have had more hits.
|by Anonymous||reply 234||10/18/2020|
[quote]Too bad he was a pedophile. (Yes, yes, I know DL's resident NAMBLA trolls will come out and say that he was an "Ephebephile", but I won't split hairs here -- he was plain gross that way.)
Why are the people replying to R227 choosing to ignore what he actually wrote at R221?
|by Anonymous||reply 235||10/18/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 236||10/18/2020|
R230, calling people "Karens" is silly when you use Republican terminology like "virtual signaling"
Only Republicans herrs and fraus say stuff like that
|by Anonymous||reply 237||10/18/2020|
Christopher Walken. Don't know the year of this pic., but oh my.
|by Anonymous||reply 238||10/18/2020|
Walken was a pretty boy. He played a gigolo in a Merchant Ivory movie.
God, that picture of Zane, above. When he hit the wall, wow, turned into a different man.
|by Anonymous||reply 239||10/18/2020|
Stallone was never my cup of tea. But I thought he had an appealing physicality in the first Rocky, in those shabby little rooms it was shot in, and his shabby hangdog face, it all worked. It was a good performance, too.
|by Anonymous||reply 240||10/18/2020|
My choice Stallone would be from Cobra, 1986
|by Anonymous||reply 241||10/18/2020|
Guy Madison in “Since You Went Away, “ in the 1940s.
|by Anonymous||reply 242||10/18/2020|
Tom Cruise peaked in Jerry Maguire IMO. The perfect blend of youth and maturity.
|by Anonymous||reply 243||10/18/2020|
R242 I think that was his very first movie.
|by Anonymous||reply 244||10/18/2020|
R244 Yes. He played a sailor.
|by Anonymous||reply 245||10/18/2020|
As far as Keanu Reeves, I'm a big fan of his look in 1991, namely Point Break and My Own Private Idaho.
|by Anonymous||reply 246||10/18/2020|
Michael Schoeffling in Sixteen Candles
|by Anonymous||reply 247||10/18/2020|
With Brad Pitt, it's tough, because I think he looked other worldly in Thelma & Louise. In Fight Club he hit that youth/maturity point quite beautifully. But, then, in Troy, he ... I don't know what he did, but damn. He was 39/40 when he filmed this.

Jon-Eric Hexum at any point in his tragically short life.
|by Anonymous||reply 251||10/19/2020|
Thank you R251. I didn't even know he existed. I didn't know that story.
He got a degree in biomedical engineering, played football, and piano. He was very a-matter-of-fact about doing menial work to pay the bills. Gorgeous man. He was going to do Playgirl (with his clothes on).
I could see him doing roles in Hunt for Red October, Far From Heaven, and/or on E.R. (as George Cloonoey's role).
|by Anonymous||reply 252||10/19/2020|
Here he is with a buzz cut.
Also, he was an Olympic-style diver. Was there anything he couldn't do?
He also seemed to have a real business-mind towards the industry. He dropped the name Jerry Falwell with some degree of remove, so he may have been politically sound as well at the time.
Just tragic. And his name contained the word "hex."
|by Anonymous||reply 253||10/19/2020|
The camera loved him.
|by Anonymous||reply 254||10/20/2020|
Very glad to see so much positive response to my mention of Jon-Eric Hexum. He really was of the Gods. Such a tragic loss, and in a totally senseless way.
