Eldergays, tell me about the 1965 Northeast blackout

Did any of you live through it?

I vaguely remembered it being the subject of one of Doris Day's final films and I think I even once joked about how she must've REALLY not wanted to be shot unflatteringly. But that's really all I know.

It seems nicely spooky that it happened around the same time as Dorothy Killgallen's death, I've just discovered.

Anything else?

I was a child but I remember it. We were used to losing power during big storms, but there was no storm that day. It was sort of fun at first but it got old quickly. Unlike in the Doris Day movie, zany complications did not ensue.
