While Timmy does have a huge fanbase, and most of it is not Charmie, so he can just ignore them. Armie's following roles never got so much attention, he is still linked mostly to CMBYN. While Timmy's following roles got attention, and his movies are talked about (even if no role was as much praised as Elio's) at least by his own fans etc.

If they had to stop interacting publicly, why would Timmy mention him in London, comment with that thirsty emoji to his quarantine haircut pic etc? He tends to be very careful to never offend anyone and tell people what he thinks they want to hear and that's probably what he was doing in London with those fans.
