[QUOTE]Everything changed when Bob Rafelson cast Nicholson as the lead in his next film. Earning four Oscar noms, including Nicholson’s first for Best Actor, Roger Ebert called it simply “one of the best American films,” full-stop.

I was just thinking about him the other day. Does he still make movies or is he permanently retired now?

I love this movie. I had such a crush on Billy Greenbush when I first saw it in a high school film class. Such a goofy-hot hick. And he’s the dad of the twin girls who played retarded Carrie on Little House on the Prairie!

The acclaim this hammy monotonic actor who always plays himself in everything he does is a mystery to me.

My sister took me to see this film and I was too young. I HATED it. I hated every sleazy character and couldn't grasp why Nicholson was such an asshole to his siblings.
Now, 50 years later, I understand the film better, but I still think J.N. is a rotten human being.

I maintain that Jack Nicholson is the kind of guy who will snort your last line of coke, punch you in the dick, fuck your sister and laugh whilst he exits your trailer. And that's why I like him.
