Why do some Twitter links open on DL and others don't?

It's not the only site that behaves this way but it's the most commonly posted.

Doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it-- video/no video, copying URL from browser versus getting "copy link" URL from Twitter?

I'm pretty tech savvy and I'm at a loss.

Anyone?

(And yes, I've considered it's just a way for Muriel to fuck with us.)

By "open" I mean clicking from within the thread, sometimes they will open up in a new window, other times nothing happens.

If you turn off "Show Link Previews" then the links work all the time, but it's a suboptimal experience to keep Link Previews off

For me it's the DailyMail links that don't ever open.

Seems to me it also depends on if the person posting them uses desktop Twitter or mobile Twitter.

I have had it work both ways when I have posted from desktop Twitter.

YouTube is similar. Sometimes you see the preview. Other times it is a black screen

I notice this a lot in my own posts when I include a link, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for it.

Yes indeed, we too use "cookies." Take a look at our privacy/terms or if you just want to see the damn site without all this bureaucratic nonsense, click ACCEPT. Otherwise, you'll just have to find some other site for your pointless bitchery needs.
