Apparently they all met in a club and Barrymore was rubbing coke into Lubbock's gums. There's some disagreement over whether Lubbock, who was meant to be casually homophobic, was just star struck or why he went back at all.

It might have been Barrymore's then-boyfriend who did the deed, but Barrymore was certainly busy cleaning everything up before the police arrived.

I met Barrymore in the 1990s and he was clean and sober. Very much so. He was hawt, too, but I was too young and inexperienced to respond to his flirting.

My gut feeling is that Barrymore is telling the truth. As he said, "'Gay orgy'? How do you have a gay orgy with four girls and five blokes, 3 of whom are straight?" I have no idea how this young man sustained injuries to his rectum, but the presence of females is a strong argument against this being a violent sex incident. Women don't usually just go along with that kind of stuff; they freak out, and they TALK.

It wasn't a small interior tear. There was plenty of bruising and bleeding. Btw, there were multiple examiners who looked at the body, not just two. Only the first one didn't claim there was a rape.

This is one of the many examples of the mainstream media clutching their collective pearls over what is unremarkable gay behaviour - it was obviously a common post-club chillout party and the guy got fisted. He was probably high enough that he didn't notice any tearing, and then he fell in the pool and drowned, he was probably completely out of it by that time.

I have met him about a dozen times in the last several years and he has always come across as honest and down to earth. I just can’t see this in his character, but then again drugs can make people do insane things or he’s just an excellent actor.

FIVE medical examiners concluded he had suffered serious sexual assault of the kind that could not have been by consent. He was still bleeding at the mortuary, ffs.

R33 the first pathologist didn't even examine the anal canal. He came in with the assumption that because he was found in a pool, he must have drowned. There's also a good chance he was paid to bungle it seeing as one of the subsequent pathologists was a drawing expert and he immediately dismissed the notion that Stuart had drowned. The second pathologist also found evidence of strangulation that the first guy "missed". And every other pathologist (and there were four more) concluded that he had experienced "serious sexual assault".

Also R33, the homophobia that played out was in first branding Lubbock as gay and then blaming his death on it. A pretty girl with the same injuries would have triggered a different reaction. Basically straight authority figures shrugged it off "as crazy gay shit" aka "misadventure".

There's been an arrest in the case!
