The BBC Archive thread
There's some really cool stuff that pops up in the BBC Archive's Twitter thread and we've had a few threads here on various things they have shared. I thought it would be nice to have a single thread to share as they come along.
To start this one I will repost the one I shared last year when it was first posted - was supposed to be a typical "person on the street" interview but this woman has some fabulous things to say about TV and its impact.

We had a great thread about that video OP posted a few months ago:

That was already posted here about a year ago, OP, but thanks for reposting. It is pretty fascinating.

Yes, I was the OP of one of those earlier/ original threads!
I thought of it to kick this one off, just because I find the stuff BBC Archives shares to be very interesting.

Why do Scottish men toss capers? It doesn't seem like it would be worth the effort.

More unappetizing British baking. No wonder they're thinner than Americans.

This is Yorkshire TV rather than the BBC, and it's a bit long, but I thought this documentary on Hannah Hauxwell , spinster farmer, belonged here.

R21, I just remember Take Art and I used to watch it just to see Tony Hart working his magic. His voice is very soothing. It seems funny to think that Morph started with Tony Hart and I suppose was the initiator of Wallace and Gromit.

Whoops! R22 here. The show I was thinking of initially was Vision On and the Take Hart came later.

Madame Cedec's shop looks FABULOUS.
And she looks like an honorary DL'er. Or a DL'er's exotic French aunt.

I would send R26's link to my husband as I think he would enjoy Mme Cadec's store. But I won't because it will just encourage him to drop a ton of money on all new copper pots and pans of the very expensive kind.

I do love those sorts of stores too, R27. They've been cannibalized over the years by chains like Williams Sonoma and Sur la Table, but the cute local shops, especially ones with substantial food offerings, are great.
