Madge is directing her biopic - that’s right!

Madge has signed a deal with universal for the biopic she’s been writing with Diablo and is apparently set to direct it! It’s also going to be co-produced with Amy Pascal, she of Little Women.

Will this be a mess or an Oscar contender? Who should play young Madge?

Lourdes, of course.

by Anonymousreply 1September 15, 2020 7:02 PM

Narcissism at its worst.

by Anonymousreply 2September 15, 2020 7:02 PM

Madonna is starring, of course.

by Anonymousreply 5September 15, 2020 7:09 PM

Can you imagine being directed by her to play her? Worst experience an actor could have. R4 I have a feeling Madge decided to do this in response to that movie..I think it really rattled her.

by Anonymousreply 6September 15, 2020 7:10 PM

I really liked W.E., for what’s worth. It wasn’t a completely successful movie but it was a fine attempt. I especially loved the 1990s scenes with the moneyed New Yorkers looking so chic in black with matte brown makeup.

by Anonymousreply 7September 15, 2020 7:16 PM

Diablo: Madge, who should play you?

Madge: the girl who did Troy, is her baby sister available?

by Anonymousreply 8September 15, 2020 7:21 PM

God, she's really killing her legacy. I was a fan for a long time, even when her newer music stopped appealing to me (around the Music/American Life era). And now, it's like she doesn't even want any fans.

by Anonymousreply 9September 15, 2020 7:21 PM

Diablo: Madge, who should play you?

Madonna: If you call me Madge again, I'll shoot you in the face

Diablo: Fine.

Madonna: Great, you're hired!!

by Anonymousreply 10September 15, 2020 7:22 PM

The Breakfast Club film should have been it as far as this stuff goes.

Madonna has too much money, she's bored, and has nothing to do. So here we are...

I'm sure Cody will do her best to make this work, but M will still throw a monkey wrench into the mix to muck it all up. The ego is incomparable.

by Anonymousreply 11September 15, 2020 8:01 PM

Pray for Diablo. This sounds like the stuff of nightmares. Like Sunset Blvd. but without the fun.

by Anonymousreply 12September 15, 2020 8:09 PM

Hope she leans as far in as she can. This could be a delightful disaster.

by Anonymousreply 13September 15, 2020 8:10 PM

Who is the girl from The Breakfast Club? You mean the John Hughes film?

by Anonymousreply 14September 15, 2020 8:22 PM

Will she cast a non-singer like herself?

by Anonymousreply 15September 15, 2020 8:23 PM

R9, Madge isn’t investing in you for her legacy..the only thing she wants from you is your money at her shows. The stupid shit she does is to keep her name alive for the future inhabitants of the planet once she’s old and once she’s gone.

She’s investing in the future 30+ years from now when the only story will be according to her, based on what’s on celluloid and not based on DL commentary.

50 years from now, they’ll look at images of her at 62 and say, look how young she looked even then, and no one will contest it.

by Anonymousreply 16September 15, 2020 8:27 PM

I read somewhere she wants Julia Garner from Ozark.

by Anonymousreply 17September 15, 2020 8:37 PM

Madge should display her liberalism and cast a black girl to play her

by Anonymousreply 18September 15, 2020 10:00 PM

This will definitely end in tears.

by Anonymousreply 19September 15, 2020 10:07 PM

[quote] This will definitely end in tears.

Yes, Madonna in tears.

by Anonymousreply 20September 15, 2020 10:27 PM

Well this has the potential to be the unintentional campfest the new century needs!

I might actually stream this at some point, and giggle away where nobody can see me, because betcha this is going to be the most outrageous display of naked female ego since "The Mirror Has Two Faces".

by Anonymousreply 21September 16, 2020 12:06 AM

Diablo Cody, writer of Ricki and the Flash, is a hack. She got lucky with the vastly overrated Juno.

by Anonymousreply 22September 16, 2020 12:15 AM

Is there any way that a narcissist like Madge doesn’t re-write history in telling this (her own) story? She should be writing this with someone else who was there like her brother. Has she really never made up with him? This is her opportunity to get proper revenge on him by totally minimizing his influence on her career and success haha.

by Anonymousreply 23September 16, 2020 12:31 AM

Diablo Cody is a great beneficiary of that gross era in Hollywood when actresses were cast based on maxim magazine spreads and a writer could be discovered by a pervy manager looking up “pussy” online (her stripper diary popped up). Both madonna and brooke busey owe their careers to sex.

by Anonymousreply 24September 16, 2020 12:33 AM

Madonna is directing? Clearly, she wants it to be a flop.

by Anonymousreply 25September 16, 2020 12:59 AM

R14, "Madonna & The Breakfast Club" was a 2018 documentary on Madonna and her first band. It had re-enactments with Jamie Auld, who had an uncanny resemblance to young Madonna.

by Anonymousreply 26September 16, 2020 1:12 AM

R26, wow, I didn't even know that documentary was ever released. Clearly, it did well.

by Anonymousreply 27September 16, 2020 1:16 AM

I’m sure she’ll insist on playing herself, from six year old school choir cunt to current old hag

by Anonymousreply 28September 16, 2020 1:27 AM

Lourdes could play Madonna dying her obviously brunette hair blonde until age 26 or so, the year when it began going gray and falling out--from which point forward Vagina can then portray herself through the film's end.

by Anonymousreply 29September 16, 2020 4:20 AM

There is absolutely no point of this if it’s not rated R. I hope TPTB realize that. This is one of those things that needs to be done right or not at all.

by Anonymousreply 30September 16, 2020 4:22 AM

I think Rocco should play Madonna for the boy toy era when she had a little pot belly.

by Anonymousreply 31September 16, 2020 4:39 AM

I hope she won’t be like “uh, I’ll just play myself..it’s my story and I look the same” lol

by Anonymousreply 32September 16, 2020 12:10 PM

Writing is no way to make money in Hollywood or anywhere, so I can see why Diablo would be desperate.

by Anonymousreply 33September 16, 2020 12:23 PM

Her stripper diary was very well-written.

by Anonymousreply 34September 16, 2020 12:24 PM

This is ROFL! This is a first right? When a living "icon" takes their autobiography in their own hands?

by Anonymousreply 35September 16, 2020 12:28 PM

Hopefully she will add the song" Fried Fish" into her script

by Anonymousreply 36September 16, 2020 12:30 PM

Imagine the embellishments of this story, created by this narcissist. We all remember the speech she made when she said “Michael is gone, Prince is gone, Tupac is gone, David Bowie is gone, Amy is gone, but I’M STILL HERE”.

She's such an egomaniac and control freak. This will be even worse than the behind the scenes drama of the first 50 Shades of Grey movie where Sam Taylor-Johnson had to deal with micromanaging E. L. James.

by Anonymousreply 43September 16, 2020 2:04 PM

Is there anything left we don’t already know about her? Her entire life for the past 40 years has been captured on video and we were there in real time.

Is MS. Zeta Jones available? Or is she too young?

by Anonymousreply 54September 16, 2020 3:09 PM

R54, you might as well have said "PAGING JANBOT!!!".

by Anonymousreply 55September 16, 2020 3:11 PM

Madonna has had a really interesting life. I’m hoping this will be good.

by Anonymousreply 56September 16, 2020 3:11 PM

Even if Madonna were a brilliant filmmaker - which she obviously isn’t - this would be an obviously, glaringly inadvisable undertaking. She’s setting herself up to make a fool of herself - again. This one is sure to continue her historic hot streak of Razzies.

by Anonymousreply 57September 16, 2020 3:11 PM

If she doesn't writhe on a grave, I'll want my money back!

by Anonymousreply 58September 16, 2020 3:12 PM

Jesus fucking Christ. I should have aborted that fucking cunt. Attention. Attention. Attebtion! She never gets enough!

by Anonymousreply 59September 16, 2020 3:16 PM

I think an honest, forthright autobiography would be better. Don’t hold your collective breath, though...

by Anonymousreply 60September 16, 2020 3:25 PM

"Madonna has had a really interesting life. I’m hoping this will be good. "?

Sorry, R56, but Madge is directing this herself.

by Anonymousreply 61September 17, 2020 12:48 AM

They should depict her getting the biannual abortions she got in her 20s and 30s. Fucking sociopath.

by Anonymousreply 62September 17, 2020 3:32 AM

This is just so sad. She is so egotistical and narcissistic. Even Babs didn't direct a pic of her own life.

She is making a joke of her entire legacy.

by Anonymousreply 63September 17, 2020 3:35 AM

[quote] I’m sure she’ll insist on playing herself, from six year old school choir cunt to current old hag

Break out the LucyMAME filters.

by Anonymousreply 64September 17, 2020 4:11 AM

I wonder if she'll direct the scene of herself laughing when she hears one of her staff might have been drugged and gang raped? I sometimes wonder, in this cancel-heavy culture we have now, why no one on Twitter has brought that up and posted it around with the hashtag #madonnaisoverparty, or similar. And thinking about it now, perhaps that's the real sign of her irrelevance? That no one is bothering to even try and cancel her?

She has led an interesting life in many ways, and in someone else's hands, this could potentially be good. The early New York years are particularly interesting, especially considering the scene she was a part of. But I just don't think this is going to turn out well at all.

by Anonymousreply 65September 17, 2020 4:12 AM

Madonna would turn it around r65 by bringing up the fact that she was raped herself as she has claimed.

by Anonymousreply 66September 17, 2020 4:16 AM

100% agreed R60. An autobiography written by Madonna (and editorial support staff) which was brutally honest, spared nobody and where she wasn't afraid to show herself in a bad light or a situation for exactly what it was in the pursuit of keeping it factual. She is far too rich and famous to have to worry about any outfall.

THAT would be something I would buy and read and I suspect it would be a massive success.

by Anonymousreply 67September 17, 2020 5:12 AM

Do you honestly think Madonna reflects much on when she was bad (girl)? She's a means to an end person. If she gets what she wants, then all is good.

by Anonymousreply 68September 17, 2020 5:44 AM

The whole movie is going to be about how she fought against sexism and misogyny and "dared to show the world the fantasies from the point of view of a woman".

It will be two hours of Madonna patting herself on the back.

by Anonymousreply 69September 17, 2020 6:14 AM

I think the movie will never happen. She’ll die in a freak accident. It just doesn’t feel right or fated.

by Anonymousreply 70September 17, 2020 6:14 AM

It will never happen because Diablo will tire of her shit and nobody will want to release the tacky vanity project when she eventually takes over every aspect.

by Anonymousreply 71September 17, 2020 6:20 AM

If she casts Billie Eilish, it will get made.

by Anonymousreply 72September 17, 2020 6:26 AM

Billie Eilish looks like what would happen if they tried to make a yeast infection into a cartoon character.

by Anonymousreply 73September 17, 2020 6:27 AM

[quote]I wonder how many abortions and executive blowjobs it'll feature.

Ironic coming from a community who hangs out in public toilets waiting for an anonymous cock to get stuck through a hole in a stall to pleasure. Funny, no?

by Anonymousreply 74September 17, 2020 7:26 AM

It seems like this is now the new thing or at least it will be after Madonna does it...celebs making movies about their lives especially while they’re still alive. We’ve seen Rocketman, TLC movie, Bobby Brown movie, Wendy Williams upcoming movie. We’ve seen the success of Mama Mia, Notorious, Straight outta Compton, Bohemmian Rhapsody, Aaliyah movie, Whitney movie.

I think more and more celebs will start making movies of their lives while they’re still alive as a means to make the career even longer. And then they’ll all end up with a podcast...that’s the the last step.

by Anonymousreply 75September 17, 2020 3:05 PM

It's the new thing?

by Anonymousreply 76September 17, 2020 3:09 PM

Shirley MacLaine, Sophia Loren and Joan Rivers all played themselves in cheesy made for TV biopics - the concept isn’t new.

by Anonymousreply 77September 17, 2020 3:11 PM

This would be an autobiopic?

by Anonymousreply 78September 17, 2020 3:14 PM

Directed and co-written.

by Anonymousreply 79September 17, 2020 3:15 PM

by Anonymousreply 85September 17, 2020 3:23 PM

by Anonymousreply 86September 17, 2020 3:25 PM

If she had any sense she’d realize she’s setting herself up to fail - this is by definition a vanity project. I agree with someone upthread that she’ll superimpose feminist tropes over the sleazy reality of her story.

by Anonymousreply 87September 17, 2020 3:38 PM

Feminists can't be sleazy? Some love sleaze. Plenty of gay men do...

by Anonymousreply 88September 17, 2020 3:41 PM

R76 in the sense that a celebrity who is still somewhat at the top (I know, she’s far from the heights of blonde ambition) is doing this. What’s next, the Taylor Swift or Beyoncé autobiopic? Every celeb will want to tell their story on the big screen now. It used to be a thing to do when your career was ovaaaa!

Madge, as much as we hate on her and hate on her career being over, she still has more music. It can only mean that since the Elton movie, it is now cool and sensible for celebs who still have more years, health. fame and power to tell their story on screen.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they start making sequels of their life story. This could be very lucrative.

by Anonymousreply 89September 17, 2020 3:43 PM

Madonna will hide her lack of talent, interest in singing (she was only ever interested in fame), disastrous interpersonal relationships, sociopathic sexual appetite, manifold abortions, multiple plastic surgeries.

I mean, I know Diablo previously explored a female sociopath in "Young Adult." But this is beyond that level of accessible or entertaining. IT's going to destroy lives.
