"I insisted that I go through with surgery, a double mastectomy. At this point, I was starting to have doubts but I assured myself it was normal..."
When you are a FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD CHILD and all your family members, friends, teachers, therapists, and a team of doctors have been cheering you on and telling you how courageous you are to be trans FOR YEARS, I would imagine that the pressure is so enormous that suddenly telling them "I don't want to do this anymore" seems nearly impossible. The "affirmation only" treatment method is a disaster.
I want these people to pay for what they have done to these vulnerable kids. Big time.

[quote] When I was 13 I was put on hormone blockers, which keep the estrogen from producing. This is what was recommended and it made me happy because I thought I was sure. After this, I gained around 40-50 pounds due to hormone imbalances, making my body issues worse.
This is where her parents should have put the kibosh on this bullshit.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 13, 2020 5:41 AM |
People who even question giving children hormone blockers are called monsters by everyone. Look at Mario Lopez who had to mea culpa for a while after he just expressed some discomfort with the idea. Parents have been guilted into this by the media who has been strangely obedient to the movement
by Anonymous | reply 18 | September 13, 2020 5:43 AM |
This is a difficult situation. If I were a parent, I would want the kid to wait until the age of 18, when the child now has the legal right to make their own medical decisions. (Then, they cannot blame the parent later.) However, by the age of 18, it's too late for some of the hormones to have maximum effect.
If my kid were suicidal due to the feeling that they were in the wrong body, I would probably cave and let them go ahead and go on the hormones, though.

The kids are told by their peers (and sometimes creepy adults) online to threaten suicide to force their parents to allow medical transition.
Meanwhile, the lowest period of suicidality for trans people is while they're waiting to finish transitioning, probably because they have something to look forward to. Once transitioning is complete, suicides start creeping up again, almost definitely because the same problems that made them want to transition (profound mental illness) weren't actually solved.

But when I identified as male, I got put into chorus because my voice and identity didn’t match. My love of theatre began to fade away. I thought once I was on hormone therapy, that would change, but it did not because my voice was no longer strong and I lost my ability to belt. I went of T after just over a year and found that my voice was frozen in the “middle of male puberty”

None of this is surprising - I feel horrible for her as she does seem to be intelligent and articulate (if she wrote it herself).
The world is a confusing and cruel place for kids going through puberty, which she most likely was at age 11. You're still a child going through all of these changes, coupled with this wave of societal expectations (body, dating, makeup, etc.) and the period where there's some of the lowest levels of empathy and kindness among children.
It's difficult to treat kids and their struggles because they don't have the life experience or knowledge to accurately communicate what issues they are struggling with or how to fix it.
The echo chamber on the internet needs to be stopped.

R15 Intersex kids with XXY chromosomes who have excess breast tissue can get it removed as young as 13, if it causes them distress, so yes - it’s plausible that a kid who claims to be trans can have their breast tissue removed at age 15.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | September 13, 2020 4:58 PM |
NONE of these "trans" people in the media is intersex. They are just fans of the "Gender Identity" magical thinking notion. The chromosomal intersex conditions people may have are unique to whether they are male or female, it is not just one condition and they are chromosomally dependant.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | September 13, 2020 5:57 PM |
R53 Brittany Spears famously had breast implants at 16. Other teens have gotten them.
I am sure the FDA recommends that plastic surgeons not do work on mentally ill people for elective procedures, but it happens all the time. Think of those who become "freaks", like that cat-faced woman and the man who wanted to become a Ken Doll and is now female.
The FDA can make recommendations but these recommendations aren't necessarily followed.
We doctors use a load of medications "off label" - that is not just for the conditions for which they received FDA approval. And it can be perfectly fine. An example is to use HGH for older people who want to lose weight and retain muscle mass. It was never approved for that but is used off label. And in fact, used off label it can promote tumor growth. Still, no MD gets in trouble for prescribing it off label.

Is enabling a little child’s unrealistic expectations the answer though? They will never be happy, even if they transition, they still dont have a Y chromosome or they will never have 2Xs. Forcing everybody to conform to their world view is like living with somebody with OCD and being forced to do everything they say or else they will have a meltdown. Nothing will ever be good enough. Medical prfessionals should know better.

R59 The question is: why are intersex kids considered old enough to consent to surgical mutilation? This attitude of pressuring them to conform to one sex or the other has paved the way for “gender-affirming” surgeries in general. Not just for intersex kids but for ANY child who feels uncomfortable with what their chromosomes have dealt them. So here we are.

I was repulsed by puberty, like many kids I was happy being a child and did not welcome those changes and I wished they hadn't happened, but it all moves along quickly, and I was fine after a bit.
I am assuming a lot of the currently popular gender dysphoria eagerly claimed by parents as "trans" isn't anything of the kind. Statistically the majority of young people outgrow it after puberty and are gay adults. That's the thing the Trans Agenda never wants you to hear! They are systematically erasing gay kids so they do not become gay adults.

For those asking, of course girls have breasts at 15. (Though a few women are naturally kind of flat, and will be as adults, they still need a bra of some sort.)
Nearly all girls start menstruating during the middle school years: 11-12 years old.
Most girls need a "training bra" or a light camisole shirt (like a feminine wife beater) towards the end of elementary (10-ish).
As a 12-year old, I had a mini nervous breakdown because--as an athlete who took dance lessons everyday and swam, played tennis, etc) I didn't want to spend 3-5 days every month painfully bleeding away, dealing with cramps, and hormonal depression.
I'm so glad there wasn't some perv around whispering in my ear that if I were a man, I wouldn't have to sit out my favorite activities.

I can’t imagine not loving becoming an adult. When I was a kid, I constantly fantasized about being old enough to have pubic hair and to fuck (women, not men, interestingly—I was only interested in naked women as a kid, but as an adult my sexual orientation is 100% gay). In fact, when I was prepubescent, I was so into the idea of having pubic hair that I went to a yard sale and bought some girl’s Barbie dolls so I could cut the brown hair off them and attach it to my pubic area just to see what it would look like.
I only did it once, and I didn’t glue it to my skin or anything; I think I just held it in place and looked at myself in the mirror.
