Except all congressional-senate offices in the Capital , where these gyms are, have already been open for emergency meetings due to not closing up a bill that was conveniently left open for renegotiations before they closed up shop for CoViD19 in March, and then had to show up for emergency meetings in July, and hence, allowing individual employees to show up and work. The individuals who showed up with full staffs and didn’t wear masks, were Republicans. One was even positive for CoViD-19, and still mandated full staff on site, whom he then ridiculed and harassed if they wore masks.

Government offices and their facilities do not belong to Democrats or Republicans, they belong to the people, who elect officials into office, and the actual offices of those individuals, house BOTH Republicans and Democrats. It matters not one fucking bit if employees are Democratic Governors or Republican Presidents or Democratic Speakers of the House.

This applies to all buildings and facilities such as gyms and cafeterias within these facilities, whether Federal, State, County and Civic Offices, which are paid for by ALL TAX PAYING AMERICANS AND NOT JUST BY DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS WHO ARE ALL...tax payers.

I just cannot conceive that some troll who went through the trouble of creating a bullshit “media-OH MY SIDES!!!) website linked @ R1, also made the ridiculous decision to run a bullshit narrative of “faux” outrage about gyms in government buildings being “open”, when 1) Everyone knows that government is “closed” for summer recess, hence no one is actually using the “open” gyms, and that these “gyms” as well as the buildings in which they are housed, must technically maintain skeleton staffs and janitorial/custodial staffs, because that is how they justify budgeting and allocating taxpayers’ taxes, for a FULL year of operations, rather than subtracting for vacations by only the appointed and/or elected higher ups, such as their congressmen and representatives.

These “gyms” and their employees or maintenance staffs, are not paid for via private funds, or from taxpayer funds from one political party, as opposed to another political party, due to the election of a democrat or a Republican in a particular office. These things are funded via taxpayers and hence, are not subject to private business models, where a private citizen chooses to pay for a gym membership in a private gym, own privately, by a group of people or an individual.

If you work in government, these gyms are free of charge to you and available for use, as long as you hold a job in government. And in order for them to have a building to work on while higher up officials are in recess, the buildings and their amenities, such as cafeterias or gyms, must remain “technically” open, during those recesses, as their justification for budgetary funding is an annual one, and not a seasonal one.

And that some anon poster on DL, or this troll themselves, who concocted this stupid website, obviously doesn’t know this, before coming here to post this nonsense, is even an idea they seemed to be a good one, just shows me that the GOP has become a full on party of bullshit, and zero policy, good ideas, sound agendas, or even staffed with elected or appointed officials who know anything about how government works. The city of SF doesn't control federal properties. If the gyms in federal buildings are open it's because Trump forced them to be open. But nice try OP.
