It’s a wonderful gay space where writers can indulge their fantasies. But DLers generally refer to it with contempt. Why is that?
Why does everyone hate Nifty on DL?

I don't even know what the fuck that is.

I’ve never seen anyone say they hated it. Typically we just joke that a certain poster’s story has a “Nifty” quality, when guys portray themselves as looking ridiculously young for their age, or hot sex just falls into someone’s lap.
I think Nifty and gay fiction sites were extremely important for a lot of people growing up in oppressive environments, at least they were for me.

Because only losers have fantasies. Winners actually have sex.

R3 = DJT

Never heard of it OP.

I like it, OP. Anybody have favorite stories to post?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 5, 2020 2:26 PM |
If it were just fantasy stories written by, for and about adults, it would be fine, OP.
But it is a cesspool of pedo grossness.

^ I was just about to say this. Have you seen the stories posted there? Half of them are NAMBLA fantasies posted online.

That’s nifty, OP.

Nifty is an interesting site. People will straight up write novels on there. There is pure smut then there are character-driven narratives. It's impressive also how people still submit their work there and much fap material there is. Also there is a lot of extreme fetishes and pedo fantasies on there (most erotic fiction/fanfic sites have that like ASSTR, AO3 and AdultFanfiction.com) but I respect they value freedom of speech.

Josman got arrested for having real underage porn.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 5, 2020 7:07 PM |
Josman had nothing to do with Nifty but I'm curious what you know, r12. I always found his cartoons incredibly hot though and wondered where he went.

R13 a friend of mine was his attorney. Had a massive porn stash, with some really extreme videos. He went in for a while and needs to keep a low profile. If he starts drawing again he’ll get raided and he had a really hard time in prison.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 5, 2020 7:17 PM |
Oh wow, r14. For some reason I didn't think he was American. I thought he was Dutch or something. That's unfortunate.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 5, 2020 7:23 PM |
R15 I don’t know his nationality, just that he was arrested in the US. Some of his comics were out there and that probably got the police sniffing around

Honestly I rather have people write and drew weird stuff like that rather than inflict it on real people or animals. And sexual fantasies tend to be a bit weird for some people but they would never do it or want it in real life. The US freedom of speech is a bit overstated because we have obscenity laws in some places (ironically hate speech seems okay)

I liked the Josman cartoons, that's a shock to learn about him - I'd heard he died a few years ago.
Maybe it was just me, but I never had the idea that the characters Josman drew were under 18, partly how they were represented and partly because there was a disclaimer saying they were all over 18.
I stopped reading Handjobs because they had another illustrator whose sketches also covered older/younger fantasies, and his "younger" figured clearly were not of age, and it was truly vile.
