All I know is the cops aren't shooting gay men down in the streets due to homophobia but Black men are definitely getting murdered because of racism. So calling someone a faggot is not truly equal to racists using the N word. It seems homophobic assholes have a bit more self control than outright racists. Also gay pride does not seem to garner the same kind of suspicion and mistrust as BLM. No one is hanging any agenda on the gay community, except maybe the trans community.

It's disappointing that almost all of the commenters at r19 link believe that protesters are to blame for the violence. During the riots after George Floyd there were numerous videos that showed the violence was organized and that protesters were not participating.

The best way to destroy our right to protest is to send agitators out into the streets to create destruction and discredit the movement.

This actually happened to a roommate of mine back in the 90's.

He worked retail, and one of his co-workers was a black woman who was very homophobic and hated him for being gay.

One day they got into it and she called him a "fucking faggot".

He responded by calling her a "n*gger bitch".

Of course, she immediately ran to their boss and reported him and tried to get him fired. (It didn't work. He didn't get fired, didn't even get in trouble).

She felt completely entitled and justified in calling him a "faggot", but him retaliating with a comparable slur against her was, in her eyes, over the line.

She started it.
