looking forward to Shapovalov vs. Fritz and Tsitsipas vs. Coric tomorrow

FAA is kicking Murray's ass. Murray is definitely not the player he once was. That's why a grinder's game is not always ideal for long term. Murray like Hewitt are nothing without their movement.
Nadal and Djokovic hit harder but they're lucky they haven't had serious leg issues yet
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 4, 2020 3:16 AM |
FAA routines Murray wow

God, the search in this page is really bad, i was looking for this an nothing appeared (i had to look on google).
Davidovich made the fourth round, not bad for someone who struggle with qualifications last year and was unable to reach second round till now. I hope he'll face Zverev, if he is inspired Zverev will get crazy.
And Alcaraz reached the semifinals on Cordenons which means that he made top 300 last week and this will he'll make top 200
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 4, 2020 7:06 PM |
Osaka survived a scare. I wouldn't be surprised if a random player won this tournament, there are parts of the draw without a single big name on them
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 4, 2020 7:08 PM |
Why Zverev-Mannarino match didn't start yet?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 4, 2020 7:47 PM |
R6 even when you search "tennis" on DL nothing comes up? I try to put "tennis" in all the titles
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 4, 2020 7:52 PM |
R8 something going on behind the scenes but no details yet. Something about Mannarino. They said it has to do with Paire testing positive the other day
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 4, 2020 7:53 PM |
R9 I used gays and tennis and the one that appeared was the previous thread. Generally with that you get the last one without problem but not this time
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 4, 2020 8:05 PM |
Well Tsitsipas-Coric match is going to have a big big delay unless they move it to another court. It's really strange what it's happening with Zverev-Mannarino
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 4, 2020 8:22 PM |
Fritz isn't a good enough athlete to last with Shapovalov unless he can consistently get the first strike
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 4, 2020 8:36 PM |
Shapo really fought which was great to see. Damn he has great strokes, and that serve!

Sasha and his beard with a dog lol
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 5, 2020 12:02 AM |
Fritz choked serving for the match in the 4th set. It was a chokey match overall though. Shapovalov choked the third set.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 5, 2020 12:54 AM |
Struff is a typical clumsy big hitter. He's not the worst mover but he's just clumsy and often caught flat footed. Djokovic just runs him around until he makes an error

Hats off to the Adidas and Asics designers who gave us these throwback shorts.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | September 5, 2020 1:45 AM |
Coric is so hot.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 5, 2020 2:01 AM |
Coric has actually raised his level for this match compared to how he's been playing. It's a shame this is only 3rd round
Tsitsipas has too much game at this point to lose if he's not making errors.
Coric once deemed baby Djokovic remains Djokovic-lite as he's never fixed his forehand and serving issues. He can have good days when both are consistent but too often he gets exposed. Still too defensive too.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 5, 2020 3:03 AM |
Marton Fucsovics is a lot hotter than Porna.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 5, 2020 3:04 AM |
Coric just asked the umpire for permission to remove his shorts on court.

If anyone is interested in post 228 in the thread im linking and wants some questions answered about 1986 to 2001 let me know. Threw it out earlier in year and then got Covid annoyingly, which is what I was trying to entertain folks at the time. Anyway fully recovered and hit me with any inquestions from post 228 on this old thread cos I've nothing to lose now lol
by Anonymous | reply 24 | September 5, 2020 3:44 AM |
lol Tsitsipas just blew a double break lead. He had 5-1, served at 5-2 and 5-4 with multiple match points. Coric is playing better but Tsitsipas became error prone
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 5, 2020 3:45 AM |
R24 OK who were the most difficult players to deal with behind the scenes?
Biggest tantrums you ever saw?
Did you ever see any heated arguments between players?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 5, 2020 3:47 AM |
Titsy is becoming a head case. How does one blow 6 match points against Porna?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 5, 2020 3:51 AM |
Omg Titsy completely fell apart in the fourth set! Unreal.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 5, 2020 3:58 AM |
lmfao from 5-1 6 match points to 5-7 that's some grade A level choketation there
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 5, 2020 3:58 AM |
R24, anything you have to share about Seles, Sabatini. Ivanisevic, Wilander, Kuerten, Grabb, Oresar, Rostagno, Blake or Krajicek? Any players other than JMG on the men's side rumored to be gay? Any rumors of doping outside of those who were nabbed for it?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 5, 2020 4:03 AM |
Tsitsipas took 7 minute bathroom break at the end of 4th set. Coric isn't happy. They're lucky there's no handshake lol It could be a bitter racquet tap

Go CORIC
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 5, 2020 4:16 AM |
R26 behind the scenes most were ok but had agents telling them what to do, but still lots of stories.
Number 1, the most difficult was lot so much sometimes the players but the group along them. We worked in London all year but got to go to Eastbourne and Wimbledon so only saw them for about 6 weeks a year. But full disclosure most difficult was absolutely Chris Evert. Towards the end of her career and then quit. I get it she was great but then pay of my job was getting them accredited for BBC and NBC. Extremely difficult. Nothing was good enough. She preferred the BBC commentary box on centre court as the NBC one had too much sun during the day and got in her face and effected the commentary.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 5, 2020 4:17 AM |
R24 did you hear any reactions of the other players when Seles got stabbed? and when she returned? Were they supportive or, like the rumors, actually indifferent/cold towards her?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 5, 2020 4:25 AM |
R26 number 2 question, biggest tantrum I ever saw? Seen more than a few. One was a player kaitlin marosi? No one famous. So at Eastbourne Ann Jones was the tournament director late 90s. This girl went utterly psycho about a point in a doubles game, her husband came down to court level about losing this point and Ann had this Labrador who just walked about the grounds and this girl kicked it on the side of the head when umpire didn't budge and then Ann just disqualified her.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 5, 2020 4:43 AM |
She kicked the dog in the head? Jesus Christ. Was the dog okay?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 5, 2020 4:50 AM |
R38 yes but it was an old dog as well. Her and her husband were mad
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 5, 2020 5:01 AM |
R37 omg disgusting! Her name is Katalin Marosi. I'm glad she never became a top player. What a piece of shit. Can you list the other bad tantrums you remember?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 5, 2020 5:01 AM |
R24 did you ever see examples of off-court bullying, head games or attempts at sabotage by players or someone in their entourage towards another player/upcoming opponent?

Coric v Titsy is absolutely riveting right now in the fifth set tie breaker.

are they having a Year Ending Championship?

by Anonymous | reply 50 | September 5, 2020 5:14 AM |
I nearly stopped watching when Titsy was up 5-1 in the fourth and am SO glad I didn’t. What a comeback by Coric!

Fritz can rest easy his choke wasn't the worst of the day
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 5, 2020 5:16 AM |
Coric 's coach should speak to him about this match. Coric stopped being a pusher when he was down 1-5 in the 4th and got pissed off that Tsitsipas kept yelling various forms/translations of c'mon. Coric then started belting the ball, both the backhand and forehand with authority. It proves he can hit hard and with accuracy when he wants to. Sure, he'll never be the biggest hitter but he doesn't have to be a damn pusher. He kept being aggressive for the rest of the match and coupled with Tsitsipas increasing errors, it paid off.
Coric would lose a lot less if he played like this
by Anonymous | reply 53 | September 5, 2020 5:18 AM |
R26 3rd question , sorry just chopping up replies to try and get each one lol

R36 honestly they were all warm. I seem to remember some headlines about Arantxa being unhappy about the ranking situation or being demoted back to 3 or 4 and some vote among the players on where Monica should be ranked. Not the case. Decision was taken by Anne Worcester who was CEO at the time about the ranking. Monica and Arantxa had the same agent group and no animosity. Steffi's group were fine with any ranking. The big surprise at the time in the office was how long it took Monica to return. From the outside yes she'd been stabbed but we were constantly being drip fed word that she'll be back for this event or back for that event then obviously it would go quiet. It was primed for her at one point to come back in Australia 1995 and play Hopman Cup I think with Jim Courier (?) then the Australian but that didn't happen either. Very glad for her that she came back at all though. She was truly robbed in her prime.

I was watching the highlights of Musetti-Altmaier and it's easy to understand why Altmaier was hyped. He has a nice game and without the injuries he probably would have a way better ranking. But he has a really annoyingly loud grunt.
There are only five players born in 2003 with enough ranking to be top 1000. I suppose there will be a bunch more if this wasn't such strange year

To be honest i had no idea what meant (i thought it was an ok sign) and i doubt nobody in my country knows it (unless they are white supremacist too), so what are the odds that he didn't know? and if he didn't know why is he doing the sign?
Rublev and Medvedev won very easily like in the previous rounds, but they have such easy draw till now that it's quite difficult to take any conclussion

R84 during Labor Day weekend, the feature matches are in the afternoon.
R86 Mannarino got to play because his team contacted DJokovic who spoke for 2 hours with NY officials and tournament officials. I guess somehow Djokovic convinced them to make it happen but yes it's not fair. Mannarino and Mladenovic were complaining about having been in an extra bubble due to contact tracing since they had been around Paire. Why these people can't understand simple science is sad though
by Anonymous | reply 101 | September 5, 2020 8:07 PM |
Mannarino was allowed to play because he was already onsite when the further restrictions were put in place. Mladenovic was offsite at the hotel in Nassau County so was no longer allowed to travel. The US Open's 'bubble inside a bubble' rules were overridden.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | September 5, 2020 8:10 PM |
They knew the rules going in, but of course they thought they'd never be enforced.
Amazingly, the French Open has no plans for a bubble and actually wants 20,000 spectators a day. The head of the federation said the virus was just the flu.
by Anonymous | reply 103 | September 5, 2020 8:12 PM |
RG is going to be a fucking mess if there's no bubble. They need to isolate players, coaches, teams and staff.
Are they going to test the fans I mean if not then hopefully no one fucking coughs or sneezes
dumb from the French
the USO rules are necessary and working

by Anonymous | reply 105 | September 5, 2020 8:16 PM |
R102 but the match almost didn't happen. Zverev said he was initially told the match wasn't going to be played but to stay there in case things changed. In the meantime Djokovic was advocating on behalf of Mannarino and it worked out.
by Anonymous | reply 106 | September 5, 2020 8:17 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 109 | September 5, 2020 8:22 PM |
R108 yes check these comments (ignore the weird ads). Djokovic is using this to bolster his attempts at a separate player's union and to cast doubt on coronavirus protocols
he's an asshole
I bet he'll love that RG won't have such a tight bubble

by Anonymous | reply 112 | September 5, 2020 8:32 PM |
R111 did you read the article? He's spewing conspiracy theories "how do we know Paire wasn't a false positive?"
and Mannarino and Mladenovic were complaining about the extra bubble they were placed in. I agree if they were negative and following the rules of their extra bubble they should be able to play. The point is they shouldn't complain about it
by Anonymous | reply 113 | September 5, 2020 8:34 PM |
Pam shriver needs help. Can one of the gays help her? Please.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | September 5, 2020 8:36 PM |
R113 It's not a question of spreading rumours, Paire himself said that he tested negative on a second test after withdrawing the US Open.
I don't agree with Mannarino or Mldenovic childish complains, i think the US Open is doing a good work, but i still think there was no reason to eliminate Mannarino without playing
by Anonymous | reply 115 | September 5, 2020 8:38 PM |
The Nassau County authorities got involved when it was made clear they were still allowing players to play despite them having come into contact with a positive case. Yes, they were put into a 'bubble within a bubble' but those restrictions didn't match up with the official restrictions. Mannarino's match was delayed while they negotiated but with Mladenovic offsite and having to travel, the restrictions forbade her from competing.
I'm not suggesting that's necessarily fair, but the US Open's rules weren't in line with official rules.

Governor of New York? Planting unfounded seeds of doubt? Sounds like he’s running for president or something, and using exactly the same playbook as Trump.

Novak didn't do it on purpose and it wasn't even super hard. Yes, he should have been defaulted, but don't make him out to be some psycho that he isn't. If this had been Serena, you can sure as hell bet there would have been a lot more screaming and crying. Novak was very professional about it all.
If they got rid of all of the lines people like they should, this would also not happen as often.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | September 6, 2020 8:29 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 182 | September 6, 2020 8:32 PM |
That's huge. Big ups to the umpire for not bending the rules. She's always very strict (Aurelie Tourte), but it's nice to know that NOBODY is above the rules, as much as this hurts the tournament in a big way.
Novak trying to convince the senior umpire by saying "you're going to default me in this situation? My career, GS, center stage?" and arguing that the lineswoman "doesn't have to go to hospital for this"?? Disgusting.
Who is the favourite now? Zverev? Medvedrug? Thiem? Berrettini? I will honestly take any of them except Sascha.
Roger and Rafa must be giggling. Meanwhile, on Louis Armstrong, Kvitova is in another dogfight with Shelby Rogers (lost to her at RG once, the score was 6-0, 6-7, 6-0). First set ended in a TB, looks like they will go three.

by Anonymous | reply 184 | September 6, 2020 8:34 PM |
It wasn’t Serena. It was Novak. The same Novak who is hated more than he’s liked. The same Novak whose cavalier attitude led to players getting COVID.
Serena threatened to slam a ball down a line judge’s throat. Novak came closer to actually doing it.
I hope the line judge is okay.
by Anonymous | reply 185 | September 6, 2020 8:34 PM |
Medvedev the favorite now? Zverev better take advantage of this default with Djokovic being on his side of the draw. Also does this hurt the tournament like a poster above says? I'm far more interested now in the tournament. I thought Djokovic was gonna cruise to the title.
by Anonymous | reply 186 | September 6, 2020 8:36 PM |
I wish there was a crowd there. The booing would have been EPIC.
Brad Gilbert needs to shut his hole. It's like he is sticking up for Novak. Love James Blake and he is the only who keeps saying how dangerous it is to hit a ball like that and not even look where you are hitting.
by Anonymous | reply 187 | September 6, 2020 8:38 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 188 | September 6, 2020 8:39 PM |
From what I recall, Serena has only been verbally abusive. Either way, she lost that match against Osaka because of her big mouth, and the fact she wasn't playing that well. But that big mouth did her in. Novak has been pushing his luck for months.
I can't fucking believe that Brad Gilbert is defending Novak. They are such a bunch of cunts on ESPN.

by Anonymous | reply 192 | September 6, 2020 8:41 PM |
lmfao
I do hope the woman is OK
so for those who missed it, Djokovic was having a tough match against PCB. Djokovic earlier had smashed a ball where no one was standing or sitting.
Then at 5-5, Djokovic fell, put his left hand down to break his fall and it seemed like his left shoulder might have been impaired
Then he loses the game getting broken. He turns his head and hits a ball that then strikes the female lineswoman in the throat. We could hear her gagging but the camera wasn't on her at the time as they were going to commercial. They decided not to cut away and we see Novak running over to the woman. She's sitting upright still gagging. I knew then he'd be tossed out
The tournament referee took way too long to decide. It should have been under 5 minutes to default him
by Anonymous | reply 194 | September 6, 2020 8:44 PM |
I wish I could read lips, the camera did zoom in on Novak talking to officials on TV
by Anonymous | reply 195 | September 6, 2020 8:46 PM |
We just heard last night that Cilic at 32 is the youngest active slam champ
now that's going to change
I'm happy we're getting someone new but obviously it sucks that DJokovic was an asshole and got defaulted and it sucks that Nadal, Federer, Wawrinka, Monfils and Tsonga are absent.
Personally I don't want Zverev, Medvedev, Thiem or Shapovalov to win. They're all idiots too.

He's always been a temperamental diva, but puts on these humble airs and gestures to try and be loved by the fans (who see through him, and always have).
He's also an asshole to have argued the way he did. Bitch, you slammed a ball and caused a human being damage. The rules state you are defaulted.
Don't smack the ball if you want to be sure you don't assault someone. He's lucky she didn't die (a crushed larynx would have been entirely possible in that situation); he'd be fighting the default in handcuffs then.
He may be the Greatest CUNT of all Time now. This makes Serena's default look like afternoon tea with the Duchess of Kent.

Former British No1 Tim Henman said: “It’s a massive shock.
“It’s the right decision. It happened to me at Wimbledon in 1995 in a similar scenario.
“That moment of frustration when I hit the ball away when not looking. I hit a ball girl in the ear.
“You look at Djokovic. He was frustrated. He wasn’t aiming for her. But you have to be responsible for your actions.
When you look at the facts, there is no alternative than to be defaulted.
“He has hit that ball aiming for the back fence, he’s not aiming for anyone. He has hit the line judge in the throat. It only leaves one option for the referee.”
According to the rulebook, “players shall not at any times physically abuse any official, opponent, spectator or other person within the precincts of the tournament site”.
It adds that “physical abuse is the unauthorised touching of an official, opponent, spectator or other person”.
Djokovic was seen driving away from the venue in his car without attending his post-match press conference. And Henman told Prime Video: "Unfortunately he’s compounding the error. He needs to face up to it, apologise and accept he made a mistake.
"By, in essence, running away, it’s going to go on longer."
Greg Rusedski, the 1997 US Open finalist, said: “I am absolutely shocked. I never saw this coming. But it was the right decision.
“Those are the rules. But when someone is injured or hurt, you have to feel sorry for the lines woman.
“You are wondering how can this happen at this moment? You feel bad for the tournament and bad for the lineswoman and Novak. But that is an automatic.
“It’s a terrible feeling. It’s a tough decision as you are kicking out of the No.1 player in the world. The decision took too long.”

It was an 'honest' mistake, every player has smashed a ball in frustration, which is why it's especially stupid of Novak to not show up at his presser.
Anyone with any emotional intelligence would have gone through the presser saying - "Yes I was frustrated, yes I feel terribly, yes my first concern is for the lineswoman, and yes I understand the rules and understand the default".
The difference is its Djoko. Psycho-Diva.
Jumping in to his car and leaving was stupid. Rafa or Federer would have gone to presser and said all of the above. And you would have believed in their sincerity.
Even if Djoko tries to give lip-service to his actions in the next few hours, the sincerity is out the window now. His prime concern in this incident, obviously, is himself. Not doing the presser confirms that.

Canadian Shapovalov, who made his way into a first grand slam quarter-final with a four-set win over David Goffin, has had a similar experience, having hit the umpire with a ball during a Davis Cup tie with Great Britain in 2017.
“First of all, it’s just super unfortunate for everybody,” Shapovalov said. “I mean, I’ve been in that situation so I know exactly how Novak is feeling.
“Of course, he had no intentions to go after the lines woman. Thankfully she’s OK. It could have ended up very, very bad.
“Luckily everybody is OK. Like I said, it’s just super unfortunate for everybody.
“Hopefully Novak can shake it off and move on. I mean, of course, he needs to grow and learn from this.
But it’s super, super unlucky as well. The ball could have went anywhere. It’s just super unfortunate.”
The 21-year-old, who now meets Carreno Busta in the last eight, has a chance to benefit from Djokovic’s exit as his half of the draw is now wide open.
“It’s definitely super exciting to be in my first quarter-finals of a grand slam,” he added.
“Obviously I had the run I think it was three, four years ago making fourth round. To kind of get over that hump, make my first quarters, it’s a huge boost for me to see that my hard work’s paying off.”

'He's got a lot of things going for him, but this is a stain that he's not going to be able to erase,' said McEnroe, who was known for his own volatile behaviour on the court.
Asked whether he thought Djokovic should have been allowed to continue to play, Carreno Busta shrugged and replied: 'Well, the rules are the rules. ... The referee and the supervisor (did) the right thing, but it's not easy to do it.'
It comes four years after Novak Djokovic bullishly dismissed concerns over his on-court frustrations in an angry exchange with a reporter.
The Serbian had hit a ball into the crowd during his 3-set win over Dominic Thiem. Months early he nearly hit an official after throwing his raquet in the French Open and he was asked if he feared his behaviour would one day 'cost him dearly'.
He laughed off his question and said: 'You guys are unbelievable. You're always picking these kind of things.'
When informed he could have seriously hurt a spectator, he replied: 'It could have been, yes. It could have snowed in O2 arena, as well, but it didn't.
'I'm the only player that shows his frustration on the court? That's what you are saying? It is not an issue for me. It's not the first time I did it.'
Djokovic had looked extremely likely to add to his seventeen Major titles before his disqualification at the US Open and had been in imperious form, boasting a 26-0 record for 2020 which may have extended to the end of this strange season.
The disqualification is a massive blow to his hopes of usurping Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, both absent from Flushing Meadows, who stand on nineteen and twenty Grand Slam titles respectively.
At the age of 33 he can hardly afford to spurn such opportunities, and being fined his £123,000 prize money is the least of it.
One upshot of the drama is that there will be a long-awaited new Grand Slam champion in men's tennis for the first time since Marin Cilic won in New York six years ago.
There appears little question that Djokovic's angry swish of the racket did not mean to injure anyone. Immediately that he saw he had hit his unintended target he gestured his apology, knowing that he was in deep trouble.
Tim Henman, who was defaulted from Wimbledon 25 years ago for a similar mishap, said Djokovic's expulsion was a 'massive shock' but 'there's no doubt it's the right decision'.
'It's the right decision. It happened to me at Wimbledon 1995 in the same scenario, You have to be responsible for your actions, when you look at the facts you have to be defaulted,' Henman said.
This time it was borne of someone who sometimes acts as if he is above the sport, as he tries to cement a legacy comparable to that of Nadal and Federer.
Djokovic has sailed close to the wind many times before, with instances of him thrashing balls away in anger that have gone into the crowd, or snatching towels from ballkids in an aggressive manner.
There was a notable incident in 2016 at the French Open when he played Czech Tomas Berdych. He hurled his racket into the clay in the direction of a line judge, and when it bounced up it was only thanks to the official's reflexes that is missed his head. He could have been gone there as well, and not gone on to win his solitary title at Roland Garros.
In a way this is an appropriate end to a lockdown summer that has badly tarnished the reputation of a highly intelligent, driven and complex man who is, without doubt, among the greatest players ever.

Breaking News: Novak is a hothead.

R380 omfg I hate how some people are really that evil and shameless. The fact that some hardcore Djokovic stans tracked down her instagram, issue death threats and make fun of her dead son is disgusting. Someone should expose their identities publicly

Once again, Novak should have gone to the presser and demonstrated the requisite concern, apology, and humility.
While every player has lunatics in their followers, Novak taking ownership of the entire incident would have gone a long way to shutting down the hate being directed at line judge.

I like this Greek chick. She's butchtastic.

Why is this Greek bitch not letting me win?!?!? I'M A MOTHER!!!!!

My SJW colleagues are tweeting about Djoko’s male privilege and violence and it’s clear this is the first time they’ve paid any attention to tennis.

Thiem needs to go back to the salon and do something about that awful frost and tip job he's sporting.
by Anonymous | reply 388 | September 7, 2020 8:09 PM |
And it's not like the headband and pink shirt are doing him any favors..
by Anonymous | reply 389 | September 7, 2020 8:16 PM |
"Isn't Thiem just begging to be served under handedly?"
by Anonymous | reply 390 | September 7, 2020 8:24 PM |
Berrettini team or Rublev team?
Tiafoe team or Daniil team?
by Anonymous | reply 391 | September 7, 2020 8:27 PM |
On the men’s draw, are there any white players with yellow skin remaining?
by Anonymous | reply 392 | September 7, 2020 8:34 PM |
Pironkova doesn't even have a ranking.
by Anonymous | reply 393 | September 7, 2020 8:44 PM |
Ubers of nadal and roger would do the same. Nadal once hit a girl and kissed her at the cheek and that was all. Nobody touched him. Later he met with her and her parents.lol

FAA is not very inspired today. he is really off. Sad, I wanted him to win. Not a Thiem fan anymore (and those highlights, gurl!)
by Anonymous | reply 395 | September 7, 2020 8:49 PM |
Same here, R395--hoping now for FAA to raise his game a notch and pull a Coric...
by Anonymous | reply 396 | September 7, 2020 8:51 PM |
R394, it is not the same case at all. Nadal was returning a serve, Djokovic had finished playing. Completely different scenarios. Video:
by Anonymous | reply 397 | September 7, 2020 8:52 PM |
Was that the first time Rafa kissed a girl?
by Anonymous | reply 398 | September 7, 2020 8:57 PM |
Oh, dear. FAA shit the bed, didn't he?
by Anonymous | reply 399 | September 7, 2020 9:12 PM |
Berrettini team.
by Anonymous | reply 400 | September 7, 2020 9:14 PM |
disappointed by FAA's level today after the first set but he's only 20. He had a good tournament reaching his first rd16
by Anonymous | reply 401 | September 7, 2020 9:31 PM |
Pironkova's squash shot forehand is as wonky and junk ballerish as Dementieva's 2nd serve. Not much pace on it but deceptively tricky spin. It's not expected at this level in tennis so it catches a lot of players off guard.
Her backhand is world class and decent first serve
Despite the long marathon with Cornet, I think Pironkova will give Serena trouble on these courts. They're conducive to shots that stay low

Domicakes hot body was showing through his sweaty shirt. It was amazing. I'm picking him to win the whole thing.
by Anonymous | reply 403 | September 7, 2020 9:35 PM |
I love Pironkova, I have to say. I thought she'd fold after losing the 2nd TB but, no! She wants it.
Serena played great today. Vintage Serena. The problem with players her age is summoning it consistently.
Should be fun to watch.

I'm so stuck on who to pick for the tournament now. I suppose Medvedev, who was awesome last year and looks great this year. But Thiem could take it, too--he's been knocking on the door for a while.
by Anonymous | reply 405 | September 7, 2020 9:39 PM |
Shapo looks great. And no one is talking about Zverev?
by Anonymous | reply 406 | September 7, 2020 9:44 PM |
Berrettini likes the FH, right?
by Anonymous | reply 407 | September 7, 2020 9:58 PM |
FAA really did poorly. Thiem was the overwhelming favorite but FAA should have done a little bit better. After the very competitive first set, he just withered. I love the way Berrettini plays, reminiscent of Del Potro. I really would like to see him live, those huge forehands are so awesome.
by Anonymous | reply 408 | September 7, 2020 10:01 PM |
The Berrettini outside fan is a riot. Let him in!
by Anonymous | reply 409 | September 7, 2020 10:02 PM |
Rublev is going to win. Berrettini's BH is too much a liability.

Am I alone in thinking that Domi has a very strange body? He's got birthing hips and that ass is just out of proportion.

[quote] If he put on a skirt, Domi could join the women's tour.
Why?
by Anonymous | reply 424 | September 8, 2020 2:32 PM |
He has the upper body of a 14-year old girl, and the hair of Miss Clairol, circa 1972
