2015 Thread blasts to push down what is being discussed in current threads. Why is it allowed?

I know this will probably sound stupid to the majority of this board, but there is targeted strategy to gum up the works with a bunch of bumped threads from 2015 which are divisive and dead threads that do not mesh with what we are discussing now.

The person who does this signs in sometimes (Defacto) but usually posts anonymously to bump threads from 2015 that are selected to distract. It happens everyday and Muriel evidently is okay with it.

This person is an interloper and is only here to stir shit up as they dig up specific 2015 threads and reply "LOL" or " Hey OP, I don't know". They know it is a dead thread but are only trying to clog the top 20 threads or so with bullshit that chumps will be drawn to and comment on as they don't see the date.

I haven't seen this tolerated on other boards and maybe I'm just being a MARY, but get this loser out of here...pleeeeeeze!

Hear, hear

by Anonymousreply 108/30/2020

trollz gonna troll

by Anonymousreply 208/30/2020

It would be funny if that's thread was actually a bump from 2015.

by Anonymousreply 308/30/2020

Threads should be automatically locked after a certain period of time, imo.

by Anonymousreply 408/30/2020

As soon as I see a 2015 thread, I just block it ... keep doing that ...

I knew DeFacto was a cunt

DeCunto.

Is it possible Muriel is the 2015 queen?

by Anonymousreply 708/30/2020

R7 not a chance

by Anonymousreply 808/30/2020

Then why does she let it continue, r8? She's so controlling about threads otherwise.

by Anonymousreply 908/30/2020

it is weird.

by Anonymousreply 10Last Wednesday at 2:53 PM

What the hell are the top 20 threads? I’ve never seen any ranking on here?

by Anonymousreply 11Last Wednesday at 2:55 PM

And the troll was even complaining about Muriel not fixing the "Search" function. I'm hoping she doesn't if it's going to make it more difficult for DeJecto to search for and bump threads.

Oh dear.

by Anonymousreply 13Last Wednesday at 2:56 PM

Just scroll and bump the threads that expose trump for the threat that he is.

by Anonymousreply 14Last Wednesday at 3:01 PM

The question should be why are 2015 threads so much better than the garbage the obsessives post? Improve the quality of new threads and stop creating so many threads on the same subject.

by Anonymousreply 15Last Wednesday at 3:04 PM

Yes I’ve started checking dates - there have been a few resurrected from 2012. Partly it’s because of the anal retentive harpies that patrol the site and screech about previous threads

I don’t want to scroll through 10 years of outdated comments on a subject. Sometimes a new thread on a topic makes sense.

by Anonymousreply 16Last Wednesday at 3:05 PM

[quote]What the hell are the top 20 threads? I’ve never seen any ranking on here?

There are people who are paid by political operations to keep their new threads within the first 20 threads displayed. so we are talking about people's livelihoods.

by Anonymousreply 17Last Wednesday at 3:07 PM

It seems to start late at night. Suddenly all these 2015 posts are on top of the threads.

by Anonymousreply 18Last Wednesday at 3:11 PM

I was up at 3AM one night, and I noticed every single thread for I don't even know how many was from 2012. I blocked all of the ones I scrolled to , but there were so many I couldn't even block them all before I went back to sleep.

Russian time?

by Anonymousreply 19Last Wednesday at 3:20 PM

Timely bump

I kind of like seeing those 2015 threads. They last for about 10 minutes, so they’re not that much of a distraction

by Anonymousreply 21Last Wednesday at 3:28 PM

It's one or two people that do the majority of resurrecting old threads. I've had them blocked for a while - the only way I know they do it is by looking at the resurrected threads and then looking at my ignored list and sure enough, they're the ones that bring them back.

by Anonymousreply 22Last Wednesday at 3:33 PM

[quote]She's so controlling about threads otherwise.

Not really. Muriel has always made it clear that there is no active moderation here, that the threads are largely controlled by F&F flags. Every now and then, Muriel does a clean-out but otherwise, no, there's not much control at all.

by Anonymousreply 23Last Wednesday at 3:34 PM

I have wondered if there wasn't some kind of site algorithm that auto-identifies slow periods for posting or thread creation, and then bumps threads accordingly to keep those sweet, sweet advertising clicks coming...

by Anonymousreply 24Last Wednesday at 3:47 PM

It happens every time there’s bad news for Trump.

But I guess that’s all day, every day.

by Anonymousreply 25Last Wednesday at 4:48 PM

Yes, r19.

The right-wing trolling is worse in the middle of the night (U.S.) because that’s when the professional, right-wing trolls begin their workday in Europe, Australia and Asia.
