For me it's "Conspieacy Theory". You can't beat Julia and Mel together.
Damn it that should read "Conspiracy Theory".

I agree, OP and Gibson was better than Roberts in it.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 29, 2020 9:18 PM |
She's magnificent in everything. But she gave her best performances in August Osage County and My Best Friend's Wedding. She's also very good in the underrated Mona Lisa Smile. Charming in Steel Magnolias and wonderful in Erin Go Brockovich.

I'm partial to Mystic Peacy.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 29, 2020 9:24 PM |
Another vote for Mystic Pizza, because it has Annabeth Gish in it.

Mystic Pizza. I kind of had the hots for the sleazy cheating dad.

r16 Julia's homeliness is really obvious in that picture.

R17, while Julia Roberts and Andrew Dice Clay look very similar, she wasn't in "Blue Jasmine."

Steele Magnolias. But she sucked in it

Everyone under 50 loves Julia. But this is Datalounge. So most posters are 75 year old Judy and Joan fans. Lost in the neverending roadshow of their private Boys in The Band bitterness. Julia is grunge and sunlight and the anti movie star, who has more personal wattage on screen than anyone since silent films. She's irresistible to people who can't even stand her movies. Charisma. Uniqueness. Talent. The casual beauty who never tries to hard. A talented actress who has so much charm that we forgive her weaknesses. Someone who is unafraid to live her life and to ignore her career. Aging on screen as in reality. A real woman. That chick, our brown eyed girl. So you just know that Cinesnatch and that weirdo Matt and the one with shit on her shoes are all over 70. charlie must be in his eighties? Did he die? But he's more fair minded than most of the ancient hate filled mongrel racist deserted holes that post here on a Saturday night. Julia Roberts is lovely, she's always been uniquely lovely. She's a moving actress and a sensitive one. She's not made of sugar water. She's grown up as a woman and a performer. Charming and just a bit spoiled along the way. A hippie, earth mother, happily married woman who lives a private life with her children. Someone who has progressed as we're meant to - if we mature. Julia is also, and most undeniably - The world's last great MOVIE STAR.
Those of us under 40 think she is forever that girl. Just amazing. She would have made a great amazing Amy too, a few years earlier. Miss Roberts will win many more accolades, because she is not resting on anything but a happy life. When she works, she always has something new to show. WE LOVE HER.

I liked "Something To Talk About". But I agree with r6; "August Osage County" is her best performance so far.

My favorite performance was when she pretended she didn't call the paps for lunch at the Ivy.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 29, 2020 11:03 PM |
Most people don't know that her big break was playing a coke whore on Miami Vice. Those who remember say she was typecast for years.

So what R28? Roberts fell in love with a married man. It happens. They're still together 20 years later, raising their three teenage children. Leading a very private life.
You spent your life on your knees sucking off married man dick through a hole in the wall.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 29, 2020 11:09 PM |
Ha, Julia can play gorgeous very well. She's not a glam girl, but she could play one on screen. That's a great shot of her r29. Thanks.

Julia is one of the most greatest stars ever. She also had a lot of pain and struggle throughout her life. Despite that, she had a good heart, which is hard to encounter in Hollywood. At a time when gay people were oppressed beyond belief, they identified with her struggles, and she theirs.

r2 Check out Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She's only in a few scenes and she dies at the end. Plus, countless shots of Sam Rockwell's naked ass, courtesy of straight, heterosexual pussyhound George Clooney!

Some of these posts read like they're from The Julia Roberts Frau Fan Club.
I like her earliest roles the best - Satisfaction, Mystic Pizza, Pretty Woman, Sleeping with the Enemy. She charisma and sex appeal but then she started taking herself too seriously (Dying Young) and she lost a lot of what made her so appealing, although some of it came back in My Best Friend's Wedding. She was completely pointless in Ocean's 11. Not sexy, not funny. She looked horrible in that movie when she should have been dazzling. It needed someone like Michelle Pfeiffer.

Julia Roberts is the least frau movie star ever. Find yourself a new insult from somewhere relevant - preferably in this millennium, that is not so obviously misogynist R38.

"Notting Hill" took me by surprise. I loved the sweetness of the film , and the surprise chemistry with Hugh Grant. The wonderful supporting cast was the icing on the cake. I just love that movie.

Cannot think of one. Has she been in good movies? A few silly box office hits and some ok flicks. Not much more.

Love Julia in “Closer” .
Saw her in person at the Givenchy fashion show held in nyc 9/11/2015 . Absolutely stunning with that megawatt smile = she radiates the energy of a movie star.

I just started watching “Notting Hill” for the first time. Am I going to like it? I just find Julia and Hugh Grant both incredibly mannered and annoying. His sputtering and her smiling. All I can think is “that’s Hugh Grant! That’s Julia Roberts!” Will it get better?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | November 26, 2020 2:32 PM |
No favorites. Everything she's in is ruined by her enormous mouth, her screen-greediness and her lack of talent.
