I think the theory Dataloungers seem to have that Madge has serious issues about her age is way off. Or, at least debatable.

She refers to her birthday as "Madonna Day". She'll run little contests or posts on social media asking what people will be doing on "Madonna Day". (Silly, yes.). The point it, she highlights her birthday. She begins posting and asking friends what they're sending her for her birthday, etc. This isn't someone in age denial. I'm somewhat in age denial. I'm late 40s and can't bring myself to admit it to anyone. I don't want to get old. So what. Maybe Madonna's the same way but I don't think she has this psychotic break from reality about her age that so many of you have made her out to have. A narcissist? No doubt. Self-absorbed and all about her self marketing? True. But self-loathing about her age? I don't think so.

And remember, this is a pop star. ALL she knows is being all about her. She grew-up being a rebel in a house full of kids. She was no doubt a massive pain in the ass. My sister was our family's Madonna. From her teenage photos, you can see that Madonna was all about Madonna. I think it's who she is. She never quite suffered in the way she claims as she was always pretty, always had boyfriends, and people interested in her. Plus, she had an ego that pushed her. So really, her entire life has been one giant mirror in which she's lost in. There is nothing different about this woman compared to the Madonna of 1992, only age and an increasing sadness in seeing her star fade.

So lighten-up on her already. She's kind of awful, so just don't follow her if she irritates you so much. I check-in on her because she's a product of my chid/young adulthood. She's no Dolly Parton, Briney Spears or Mother Theresa, but she never claimed to be. So I don't get the rage against her.
