Britney Spears's sister Jamie Lynn now in control of her $57M fortune

Britney Spears’s sister Jamie Lynn Spears has been named trustee of her fortune and is seeking to move some of her assets, according to The Blast and the Los Angeles Times.

Jamie Lynn was appointed trustee in 2018. Both their father, Britney’s conservator Jamie Spears, and Andrew Wallet, his former co-conservator who has since stepped down, agreed to Jamie Lynn taking the position, The Blast noted.

The documents reportedly stipulate that Britney is “sole beneficiary” of the money in the trust while she’s alive. It’s the trustee’s responsibility to make sure that, should something ever happen to the pop star, her children receive her assets. (She shares sons Preston, 14, and 13-year-old Jayden with ex-husband Kevin Federline.) The Grammy winner was worth $57.4 million as of December.

For now, Jamie Lynn, Britney’s younger sister, has requested that all assets of the SJB Revocable Trust — created in 2004 — be relocated to Fidelity Brokerage Services, with her as custodian.

Yahoo Entertainment has reached out to representatives for Britney and Jamie Lynn. Britney’s attorney Samuel D. Ingham III declined to comment on the pending case.

Britney’s mom, Lynn Spears, formally asked to be included in future hearings regarding her daughter’s trust last month.

The revelations come little more than a week after the “Piece of Me” star legally requested that the court remove her father, Jamie, as her conservator. He’s been in the post for 12 years, making many legal and career decisions for her, following her 2008 hospitalization for mental health.

“Britney is strongly opposed to James’s return as conservator of her person,” the star’s legal team wrote in a court document filed to the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles, per the BBC. She argued that Jodi Montgomery, who took over the role while her father temporarily stepped away for heath reasons last year, take it over permanently.

Despite Britney’s request, a judge ruled Aug. 21 that her father will remain in his post as her conservator at least through February.

Meanwhile, Britney’s fans have continued to express their concern about her through the #FreeBritney movement.

I hope that her sister can be trusted.

I'd hate to see Britney lose all that money.

by Anonymousreply 1August 27, 2020 6:15 AM

Isn't she almost 40? When do you grow-up and take charge of your own life?

by Anonymousreply 2August 27, 2020 6:26 AM

She's mentally ill, R2.

When it comes to that amount of money, her family is not just going to sit back and let her blow it all on boy toys and crazy things.

Her estate needs a capable family member to manage it.

Clearly, that's not her parents either.

by Anonymousreply 3August 27, 2020 6:29 AM

Someone who was dumb enough to become a teen mom isn't a good choice for such a huge amount of money.

by Anonymousreply 4August 27, 2020 6:39 AM

I understand that the net worths of celebrities are always massively inflated, but only $57 million?! After all these years? I ALSO know that keeping a manager, lawyers, and a complete team, AND "living to a certain standard" costs A TON...but fucking really? Only $57 million?!

by Anonymousreply 5August 27, 2020 6:47 AM

Who knows what Britney has been spending her money on for the last 10+ years, R5.

She could have just been blowing through it.

Also, there's no telling how much her parents embezzled from her.

Smartly, someone decided to have the court appoint someone else.

by Anonymousreply 6August 27, 2020 6:49 AM

"She's mentally ill, [R2]"

Then why is she shaking her tits onstage? Isn't that exploitation of the retarded?

by Anonymousreply 7August 27, 2020 6:56 AM

She is the cash cow for that family. She was put back to work quickly for 2 reasons. 1 - it might have been therapeutic for Britney - although that's arguable. And 2 - she was the cash cow - everyone needed her to be producing positive cash flow.

The 57 is what is ONLY hers in her bank accounts - so does not include all the millions that have been paid out over the years to support that family

Other stars have been cash cows. Johnny Depp for example. And he blew his part of all the money he made. But over the years, shelled out hundreds of millions supporting everyone else.

by Anonymousreply 8August 27, 2020 11:41 AM

I'm surprised the amount is as high as it is considering she hasn't been a decent performer for a over a decade now.

by Anonymousreply 9August 27, 2020 6:31 PM

$57million is shockingly low for someone like Britney Spears. I was thinking more like $400-$500 million dollars, but definitely no lower than $300 million in the bank.

What the Fuck? What happened to all of her money? And she's only 39 years old. She's going to have to downsize so her money lasts her the rest of her life, especially if she doesn't want to preform anymore. But maybe that's all this is available to her in cash. TMZ has made it a point to say for years that she has way more cash put away in various trusts that is unknown. So maybe that's just cash available to Britney to live off of, and the rest is put away in trust. I refuse to believe that's all the money someone like Britney has, that really low for her.

by Anonymousreply 10August 27, 2020 7:19 PM

Maybe she did trust dad but the cancer made them think of his mortality and it going to her greedy mom. Glad she trusts her sister...fingers crossed...

by Anonymousreply 11August 27, 2020 7:23 PM

$57 million. Now you can see why she wanted her father out.

by Anonymousreply 12August 27, 2020 7:24 PM

The sister is a spoiled bitch cunt. And no, I'm not Alexa Nikolas.

by Anonymousreply 13August 27, 2020 7:28 PM

Who thinks she ends up in a double wide by 2030?

by Anonymousreply 14August 27, 2020 7:34 PM

Wasn’t she worth over $150 million at one point?

by Anonymousreply 15August 27, 2020 7:43 PM

20K a month to Federline and I'm not sure that includes child support. I think Spear had to buy a lot of houses for a lot of people and support a huge family year after year. Cash cow for that family.

by Anonymousreply 16August 27, 2020 8:25 PM

When I first read the $57 mill number I thought: nice piece of change, sounds about right.

But now I'm listening to you queens and y'all are so right. I compare Britney to Beyoncé often. Both have been performing for about the same amount of time, similar career paths, etc.

Beyoncé is easily worth about $300-$500 mill alone. Endorsements, movies, fragrances, and royalties. All of which Britney herself has also. Where DID the money go?! I mean, it's not like we hear of her flying private all the time to stay in Cannes.

by Anonymousreply 17August 27, 2020 10:08 PM

her perfume sells well

by Anonymousreply 18August 27, 2020 10:16 PM

its licensed but still.

by Anonymousreply 19August 27, 2020 10:17 PM

[quote] The 57 is what is ONLY hers in her bank accounts - so does not include all the millions that have been paid out over the years to support that family

Not only her family.

The attorneys, agents, and other business people are probably robbing her blind.

I hope someone can stop the financial bleeding for Britney, before she goes broke.

Believe it or not, I think that Kevin Federline would actually be a good person to handle her estate.

by Anonymousreply 20August 27, 2020 10:22 PM

its only her estate after she dies, dear

by Anonymousreply 21August 27, 2020 10:33 PM

Her paid boyfriend is devastated 😂

by Anonymousreply 22August 27, 2020 10:34 PM

Please refer to me by my new name, Jam$e L$nn $pear$.

by Anonymousreply 23August 27, 2020 10:41 PM

Who cares if she spends her millions on hookers and blow? It’s her money, she earned it! If a family member told me that I wasn’t mentally stable enough to spend my own money I’d tell them to fuck off. I hope that she leaves every single one of those vampires high and dry.

by Anonymousreply 24August 27, 2020 10:53 PM

R17 Mrs Carter is not as rich as she makes out be.

by Anonymousreply 25August 28, 2020 4:46 AM

Why does her sister look 50

by Anonymousreply 26August 28, 2020 4:49 AM

Right? 50 with a dollar tree bleach! Girl needs to moisturize those ends!

by Anonymousreply 27August 28, 2020 4:58 AM

Right? 50 with a dollar tree bleach! Girl needs to moisturize those ends!

by Anonymousreply 28August 28, 2020 4:58 AM

That's a lot of money, but I thought she was worth more to be honest.

by Anonymousreply 29August 28, 2020 5:00 AM

Jamie Lynn did well for herself. We all thought she would fail after getting pregnant at 16 and her acting and singing career going nowhere. Now look at her not even 30 and a multimillionaire! What could go wrong?

by Anonymousreply 30August 28, 2020 5:02 AM

OP - It's actually $5.7M

by Anonymousreply 31August 28, 2020 5:16 AM

The figure sounds about right. Britney has not been on tours constantly for 20+ years like Beyonce. She had about 5 good years where she was extremely bankable. Im sure Jive absorbed most of the money she made since her popularity peaked very early in her career. She also must have a ton of overhead with her handlers and legal expenses. Whitney Houston had a similar financial situation, but Pat made sure Whitney never went completely broke despite all the drama.

I actually think Jamie Lynn is a good choice. Both of them have kids around the same age and they are close. Her parents are closing in on 70 and they really have done all they can do for her at this point. She needs someone who will look out her interests in the long term.

by Anonymousreply 32August 28, 2020 6:16 AM

For some reason, I think her sister is a good choice for this role as well. There's clearly a lot of animosity between Britney and her father. Jamie Lynn is also still working and currently co-starring on that new Netflix show 'Sweet Magnolias', or whatever it's called. Their brother Brian used to help manage the Spears empire a bit, but I think he had sense enough to distance himself from the chaos. Jamie Lynn was also a child star and knows firsthand the pressures that her sister has been under. So she'll be more empathetic than their father. I'm not sure their mother has the business sense to manage the $$$, but she's smart enough to know that. Also, like someone else mentioned, both parents are close to 70--if they're not already.

by Anonymousreply 33August 28, 2020 6:38 AM

You guys act as though 70 is decrepit and ready for a retirement home.

Donald Trump is 74, Hillary Clinton is 73, Joe Biden is 78, and Nancy Pelosi is 80.

Britney's parents could easily manage her money, IF they had the intelligence to do so. Which they clearly don't.

by Anonymousreply 34August 28, 2020 6:47 AM

r34, I can tell you for sure that my mom and dad, who are in the same age group as Britney's parents, want NOTHING to do with my managing my life or finances! They went above and beyond to ensure that my siblings and I had a decent childhood and college education. Their job with us ended there and they remind us all the time.

Britneys parents had the added pressure cooker of having a child mega star. They totally deserve to sit back now and actually enjoy the rest of their lives. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. All those people you just spoke of need to be mindful of that as well, you do need to pass the torch to the next generation BEFORE you get old and senile.

by Anonymousreply 35August 28, 2020 7:01 AM

[quote] But now I'm listening to you queens and y'all are so right. I compare Britney to Beyoncé often. Both have been performing for about the same amount of time, similar career paths, etc.

They are not really economically comparable when you look closely. Beyonce is a songwriter (allegedly) so she gets songwriting royalties. Also, she gets serious $$$$ in tour revenue. She and her husband soldout Dodger Stadium more than once. Britney hasn't toured or played large venues in over a decade. Britney is a Vegas performer -- the last stop for a major star when their marketability is at a low.

Still I was surprised by $57 million. I would have guessed she was worth at least twice that.

by Anonymousreply 36August 28, 2020 7:25 AM

Me too R36. Only 57 mil?? That's even less than Lisa Vanderpump with her 60 mil... What has she been doing with all her money?? If she had invested her money wisely, she'd be easily worth double that these days...

by Anonymousreply 37August 28, 2020 8:08 AM

Yes seriously. I would have thought she was worth several hundred million dollars. It’s very sad what has happened to her. Poor thing.

by Anonymousreply 38August 28, 2020 8:23 AM

A Broadway show featuring her songs was scheduled for this season. If that had succeeded and then go on tour, she could’ve pulled in about $100 million for doing nothing. How much money has ABBA made off the MAMMA MIA franchise? Half a billion?

by Anonymousreply 39August 28, 2020 8:27 AM

Agree that the sister seems like a good option. I hope it doesn't ruin their relationship though. Money usually does. Britany will have to ask JL's permission to spend her own money. Sis will have to say no whenever Britney goes off the rails and stops taking her meds. It's a lot to deal with and the sister will probably only get a small stipend to manage it.

How can family "rob you blind" when all the money is in a trust with several trustees watching each other?

by Anonymousreply 40August 28, 2020 8:28 AM

But her Vegas residency isn't bankable??? If the Drag Queens from RPDR are doing well in Vegas I can imagine Britney is pulling in decent income from that.

I agree K. Fed probably would be a decent choice. He probably doesn't want to be with Brit but I feel like he would at least set it up so the kids would be good, he can continue his decent income and she can be free to watch butterflies float all day with her babies.

by Anonymousreply 41August 28, 2020 10:38 AM

I don’t understand why Britney has a conservatorship. She’s only 38 years old and needs someone to make legal decisions about her entire life, money, career, and every little thing she wants to do? I’ve only ever heard about this for elderly people with dementia or other severe mental disabilities.

I don’t get it. She’s well enough to be on stage, perform, and travel around, It she’s not well enough to make her own decisions?

There are so many celebrities with obvious mental problems who don’t end up with lifelong conservatorships. If Brit I’d not well enough to make simple decisions then maybe she shouldn’t be on stage or in the public eye anymore.

by Anonymousreply 42August 28, 2020 11:08 AM

Celebrity net worth are wildly overinflated, Bey isn’t worth $500 million for instance. Britney’s $57 being bandied about, it actually sounds right if it’s liquidable assets. Many celebs are only rich on paper because of real estate investments that aren’t easily converted to cash.

As someone said already, Britney hasn’t toured in ages, and tours are where pop stars haul in the big money. She’s lucky to have $50 million in the bank and in various investments.

by Anonymousreply 43August 28, 2020 11:16 AM

R42 Conservatorship doesn’t mean the person has to be nonfunctional in everyday life. There are people with chronic and severe mental health conditions who function just fine in everyday life, provided they adhere to structure and treatment. People who attend community support groups and go about their day doing mundane things, you’d never know from looking at them that they’re under conservatorship. Contrary to the misconception, mental illness and conservatorship are not the images of crazy lunatics foaming at the mouth laying about at the care home. It basically protects the person against making rash decisions that they’re incapable of making with resulting, dire consequences.

If no one had stepped in at the time, Britney would’ve blown through her money in a couple of years with scum like Sam Lutfi helping her. Who knows how much of her money was lost before conservatorship?

by Anonymousreply 44August 28, 2020 11:30 AM

She doesn't write her music, does she?

by Anonymousreply 45August 28, 2020 11:50 AM

Too bad Kris Jenner isn't her manager. She'd have gone up to 570 millions in no time.

by Anonymousreply 46August 28, 2020 11:58 AM

R44, I wonder if Brit had to agree to that and if it’s something that she wants to have because she’s aware enough of her mental issues to make that decision.

by Anonymousreply 47August 28, 2020 3:42 PM

[quote] Celebrity net worth are wildly overinflated, Bey isn’t worth $500 million for instance. Britney’s $57 being bandied about, it actually sounds right if it’s liquidable assets.

Over the last couple of decades Beyoncé’s net worth like her husbands has continued to climb, by hundreds of millions of dollars. They know how to make money.

by Anonymousreply 48August 28, 2020 4:09 PM

[quote] I don’t understand why Britney has a conservatorship. She's bipolar, baby!

Although it appears her father used very poor judgment in managing her trust. Instead of increasing its value, he has depleted it.

by Anonymousreply 49August 28, 2020 4:13 PM

[quote]$57million is shockingly low for someone like Britney Spears. I was thinking more like $400-$500 million dollars, but definitely no lower than $300 million in the bank.

Top music artists make FAR more money than top actresses, so $57 million is incredibly low considering how big Britney was at her peak. You can see on the Forbes 100 how singers make lots more than actresses. She's been paying out large sums to her family for years, and she only had one big tour, so she was never as rich as Beyonce or Celine. Still she should be worth no less than $200 million today.

Her career is an example of poor management, a greedy family and mental illness.

by Anonymousreply 56August 29, 2020 2:06 AM

If there had been bets taken in '99/'00 as to who would've become a billionaire between the blonde pop princesses (Britney, Christina, Jessica, and Mandy), no one would've put their $$$ on Jessica Simpson. Sure, Britney has merchandised a lot, but so much of it has been licensed merch by the perfume companies, adverts for Sketchers, Pepsi, Asian commercials, etc. Jessica Simpson writes in her book about the good guidance she had from an old-timer in the garment and shoe business, who made sure all her contracts gave her a fair monetary value for her brand, and creative control of the brand. Sure, she farms out the design aspects, but she owns so much of her brand. Britney could've easily done the same with the same guidance. Even Liz Taylor made tons more on her perfumes and couture jewelry line than she ever did acting. It's all about hiring experienced advisors.

by Anonymousreply 57August 29, 2020 2:25 AM

Does Britney have any songwriting credits? That's where the real money is. Otherwise, she has to keep touring and performing to get new money in. It's like with Whitney Houston. She just performed the songs others wrote and when she ruined her voice with drugs she was fucked.

Some people have this false perception that the performers also own the songs they're singing and get all these royalty checks, but those go to the actual songwriters.

There is no doubt that the family took advantage of Britney all of her life. I always thought it was fucked up for he father take control when he had no fucking clue about managing money or a music talent and yet decided it was for the best for Britney to work. Clearly he fucked it all up, but kept everybody distracted with Britney's mental state.

by Anonymousreply 58August 29, 2020 2:27 AM

Brit probably didn't like working that much and enough is enough.

by Anonymousreply 59August 29, 2020 2:27 AM

R57 Jessica came from a solidly middle class family just like Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. I think her parents probably taught her a lot about saving and investing. Britney comes from a working class background and her family likely had no education in financial literacy.

by Anonymousreply 60August 29, 2020 2:30 AM

R60, Christina Aguilera was solidly middle-class? She is so white trash. I’m surprised!

Hopefully Jamie Lynn is trustworthy.

by Anonymousreply 61August 29, 2020 2:39 AM

[quote] Hopefully Jamie Lynn is trustworthy.

Sure, she will.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 62August 29, 2020 2:41 AM

Jamie Lynn has been the trustee on the trust since 2018 - this isn't new. It is the trust that will go to her sons when she dies.

When the conservatorship was put in place, her estate was down to a net worth of 45 million. Since then it has grown to $57 million. Sam Lufti was managing her money until her father and Watters took over. Every financial detail of the estate has to be given to the courts annually when the estate is under conservatorship.

For the last year, her estate has been managed by a professional fiduciary and conservator as her father asked to step down. Britney is asking that the professional fiduciary that was appointed by the court be made permanent onservator rather than having her father return as conservator.

by Anonymousreply 63August 29, 2020 2:46 AM

I wonder if the #FREEBRITNEYs will start attacking Jamie Lynn now.

by Anonymousreply 64August 29, 2020 3:20 AM

Ahhh.... thank you for that information, R63.

Now it makes sense that she would agree to conservatorship.

Clearly that Lufti person was ripping Britney off. Maybe her father was too, or maybe he's just stupid. Or both.

In any case, that's impressive of whoever it was that grew her wealth by over $10,000,000.

by Anonymousreply 65August 29, 2020 5:15 AM

The free Britney crowd doesn’t know anything about conservatorship, they go on and on about her dad stealing money from her estate. R63 is right, the financial structure and fiduciary responsibilities of trustees are stringent as well as transparent in the eyes of the courts. I know someone with severe bipolar disorder who’s been under conservatorship for over 20 years, he lives well and gets a stipend each month. The trust pays for his rent and living expenses, but when he wanted to move to Oregon last year with a new girlfriend and buy a house there, the trustees refused his request to withdraw close to $800k to buy the house in cash. Just as well because the girlfriend left him shortly afterwards.

by Anonymousreply 66August 29, 2020 5:54 PM

That's amazing, R66.

And it really shows the motivation of the hanger-on'ers.

by Anonymousreply 67August 29, 2020 8:21 PM

Well, if noted financial wizard Jamie Lynn Spears can't fix this mess, who can?

by Anonymousreply 68August 29, 2020 8:26 PM

I don’t believe it’s that low.

by Anonymousreply 69August 29, 2020 8:31 PM

R68. Jamie Lynn really has nothing to do with the conservatorship or the management of the finances. Her role only becomes active if Britney dies and then she is tasked with ensuring the funds in the trust are distributed appropriately to Britney's children as per the details of the trust.

by Anonymousreply 70August 29, 2020 11:12 PM

If a man (e.g., Justin Timberlake) were posting videos of himself, dressed like and dancing as if time froze 15 years ago, people would say: "He needs help; he needs a conservatorship."

by Anonymousreply 71August 29, 2020 11:21 PM

People have been taking her money. Hence why she only has $57 million after 20 years of work.

by Anonymousreply 72August 29, 2020 11:39 PM

Jamie Lynn has been ferociously protective of Britney since the trouble began. She’s the only one Britney ever mentions lovingly on IG.

Britney never refers to her dad, mom, or brother.

by Anonymousreply 73August 29, 2020 11:57 PM

I can just imagine poor Jamie Lynn, late at night at her desk, sleeve garters in place, with her head in her hands. She blows a few thin strands of a track of hair from her face, stares over at the fat curls of paper emptying out of the adding machine. She sighs, lifts a pencil to her lips and chews the eraser.

"Nothing." she whispers.

by Anonymousreply 74August 30, 2020 12:49 AM

I guess Jamie Lynn is the smart one... relatively speaking of course.

by Anonymousreply 75August 30, 2020 12:55 AM

R69. it was in court papers. At the time the conservatorship was granted to her father, her estate was only worth 45 million. Lufti had completely mismanaged her finances. According the the recent documents, she earned 2.5 million last year in passive income. Given all her expenses, that isn't a ton of money. Her housing expenses were 400K, she pays close to half a million to KFed in child support / other fees. She has a team of people to pay. I can't imagine too much of that 2.5 gets added to the estate. her estate is worth 57 million now so it is increasing at about 1 million per year likely from investments.

Britney made 15 million from Idol and $400K per Vegas show so close to 100 million for her Vegas residency - it isn't clear where all that money went but as noted above, the court would require financial records.

by Anonymousreply 76August 30, 2020 1:09 AM

I wouldn’t trust any of these inbred hicks with $57.

by Anonymousreply 77August 30, 2020 1:16 AM

Is it possible the $57 million only represents liquid cash in her name and does not include properties and other assets that may be ties up in trusts?

by Anonymousreply 78August 30, 2020 3:54 AM

I swear I remember hearing at some point a lot of Britney’s assets are tied up in irrevocable funds to protect them from any lawsuit judgments

by Anonymousreply 79August 30, 2020 3:55 AM

*irrevocable trusts, I meant

by Anonymousreply 80August 30, 2020 3:55 AM

People forget about taxes and agent fees. $100 million isn’t really $100 million after taxes and agents/ publicists getting a cut.

by Anonymousreply 82August 30, 2020 9:15 AM

crazy and lazy, not that ambitious. simple

by Anonymousreply 83August 30, 2020 9:17 AM

The amount going to KFat is ridiculous. He doesn’t deserve to live like a millionaire and do fuckall.

by Anonymousreply 84August 30, 2020 6:08 PM

KFed has a big dick.

That's enough to collect the cash.

by Anonymousreply 85August 31, 2020 1:12 AM

Lots of A tier celebs pay big money in child support - 30-50K /month isn't uncommon to pay to baby mamas and many also have to pay alimony or a lump sum of spousal support in the millions.

Brad Pitt paid Angelina 1.3 million in the first two years after their split plus an 8 million dollar 'loan' and she took him back to court in 2018 saying he hadn't paid enough!

by Anonymousreply 86August 31, 2020 1:26 AM

is that all Britney has left? I remember a few years ago she had around 150 million. She'd be a billionaire if she was intelligent and not mentally insane. The money she made in the 90s-2000s was a shit ton.

by Anonymousreply 87August 31, 2020 1:34 AM

This headline is completely misleading. Britney had a separate trust called the SJB created for her kids back before the conservatorship even started. No one knows how much money is in that trust. At the time of the conservatorship, Ivan Taback was named the trustee for the SJB trust. In August 2020 court documents showed that in 2018 Jamie Lynn had been added as second successor and a trustee to the SJB trust. This was all done with the approval of the two conservators at the time (Jamie Spears and Andrew Watters) and the court. Nothing new happened recently - just that the new documents mention Jamie Lynn's past appointment as a trustee on the SJB trust.

by Anonymousreply 88August 31, 2020 1:38 AM

$57 million is "not a lot?"

I'd take even one million.

by Anonymousreply 89August 31, 2020 10:50 PM

R89 Not for someone like Britney whose had the career she's had, and made the type of $$$ she's made. I think most people would think she'd be in the $400million dollar neighborhood, not $57 million.

But then again, I think the $57million is just what's available for her to live off of. I've read on TMZ many times over the years, about other trusts that are flushed with cash. Harvey Levine is always going on about how wealthy Britney is. I believe it, I don't believe $57 million is all she has. There's way more money in various other trusts under her conservatorship.

by Anonymousreply 90August 31, 2020 11:20 PM

Her perfumes have netted more than that alone. I say NET not GROSS. That figure is pure bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 91August 31, 2020 11:35 PM

Well...she's definitely bananas if she's encouraging the loons.

Hmm funny how #FreeBritney hasn't come after Jamie Lynn, Bryan and Lynn who are all supportive of the conservatorship. They'll attack her father Jamie for "enslaving her". And also blame Justin Timberlake, Federline and others for her breakdown.

by Anonymousreply 93February 8, 2021 8:38 PM

I'm shocked that she doesn't have more money.

by Anonymousreply 94February 8, 2021 8:41 PM

Britney never learned business and how to invest and endorse like Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and others have.

by Anonymousreply 95February 8, 2021 8:43 PM

Let's be honest, if Britney wasn't under conservatorship, all of her money would have been stolen by grifters like Sam Lufti. R95 she didn't learn because she can't.

by Anonymousreply 96February 8, 2021 8:45 PM

R96

Agreed. Britney's mental health resulted in her overspending. She was partying and shopping and doing drugs. She almost went bankrupt. She endangered her children multiple times. Her father stepped in and got her treatment. Put her in a conservatorship to protect her and he helped build her fortune back up. These Britney stans claim that he is enslaving her and tricking the court of California like he's some evil villain. Britney is a sweet girl and a passionate performer but she is also bipolar and probably has other issues not disclosed. Her fans need to accept and stop bullying people online.

by Anonymousreply 97February 8, 2021 8:50 PM

Her mother Lynn didn't help her daughter because she was the true greedy one. I don't think Jamie ever pushed her into the spotlight and he probably would want her to retire but Britney loves performing and probably benefits from a routine.

by Anonymousreply 98February 8, 2021 8:53 PM

I’m from Texas. White trash with money is NEVER a good idea.

by Anonymousreply 99February 8, 2021 8:54 PM

See any interview of Britney before she got really famous. She was never all there. Whether this is due to innate mental health issues or because of abuse suffered by being thrust into the limelight at a young age by stage parents, it doesn't matter. The fact is that she's mentally a child and really has no business being her father's performing puppet NOR does she deserve to get scammed by people like Sam Lufti. She's a not very smart, not mentally coherent millionaire and thus has a huge target on her back. Her situation is hardly ideal but things could be a lot worse for her.

by Anonymousreply 100February 8, 2021 8:57 PM

I think her brother Bryan would be good or an outside party at least. I'm sure it will happen this year since the court of CA is looking into this. I hope she retires too and maybe move to a farm in Louisiana because she could relive her childhood and probably feel more safe.

But she needs to be in a conservatorship as people have mentioned she is mentally ill and regressed. Freeing her would mean a lot of trouble. It's sad but it's the truth. If you really care for Britney then you would truly want the best and let her retire and enjoy her life.

by Anonymousreply 101February 8, 2021 9:02 PM

R101 The father seems toxic. Her siblings seem to have her interests more in mind than her parents.

by Anonymousreply 102February 8, 2021 9:11 PM

Wow, I'd forgotten all about Kevin Federline. Long ago, I had a gay friend from India who thought KF was the hottest guy on the planet.

by Anonymousreply 103February 8, 2021 9:15 PM

Britney's the victim of poor parents, she likely inherited mental health issues and maybe was sexually abused which led to trauma. She should retire, she can continue to dance as a hobby and maybe join a church or volunteer once the pandemic ends. I think once her dad is removed that may happen.

by Anonymousreply 104February 8, 2021 9:23 PM

^ LOL. That's so special.

by Anonymousreply 105February 8, 2021 9:30 PM

[quote]Britney never learned business and how to invest and endorse like Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and others have.

That's the job of a manager, lawyer, investment advisor etc. It's an issue of hiring the solid professionals, not the crooks.

by Anonymousreply 106February 8, 2021 9:46 PM

I agree but Britney lacked the intelligence and was surrounded by terrible people her whole life which wasn't a good influence. Beyoncé isn't very bright but she had business savvy parents and married a hustler turned businessman.

by Anonymousreply 107February 8, 2021 9:49 PM

[quote]She should retire, she can continue to dance as a hobby and maybe join a church or volunteer once the pandemic ends. I think once her dad is removed that may happen.

I always thought she should get away from Los Angeles and try to make a quiet life in a nice normal town, maybe a farm, with people who live with and check in on her. If she wants to do something in the spotlight, the simplest thing she could do is talk to people (especially kids) and educate them about being bipolar.

I crossed paths with her years ago at an event and we were both kind of not participating in everything going on around us so we spoke briefly. I got the impression that she was very sweet. I'm happy Jamie Lynn is handling things for her now. I wish her the best.

by Anonymousreply 108February 8, 2021 10:28 PM

R108, JL withdrew her petition after all the embezzling from Britney she participated in with Lou Taylor was publicized.

by Anonymousreply 109February 8, 2021 10:35 PM

Britney's relationship with her father deteriorated over the years and based on court documents, it doesn't seem like at this point he is working from a place of "Britney's best interest" but rather from a place of fearing losing control. Britney should have say in who manages her affairs and the court has been moving in that direction. Her father hasn't been her personal conservator since Sept 2019 and now the court has appointed an official fiduciary as her co-conservator for financial matters. I think Jamie is being phased out.

Jamie and Lynn Spears may have originally had good intentions - they too got sucked into the Hollywood / fame / fortune vortex and it likely changed them and made them kind of lose their original intent. The pressure from the industry and those in it to do more, make more, produce more and the fear that it will all go up in a puff of smoke if you stop makes many previously sane parents / people lose perspective. At this point it seems that keeping Jamie on board is just costing Britney a lot more money and causing everyone frustration.

by Anonymousreply 110February 8, 2021 10:35 PM

Geez, she should be well into the hundreds of millions at this point. Someone has been stealing her money.

by Anonymousreply 111February 9, 2021 2:42 AM

Jamie Lynn had some talent, she was decently funny on All That. She sucked in everything else she did though including Zoey 101.

Bryan is the only one with a real job. He is college educated and has a job as a producer. So I think he may be the best choice to take over.

by Anonymousreply 112February 9, 2021 2:49 AM

^Jamie Cunt only got the job because of her sister and Dan Schneider's perversions.

by Anonymousreply 113February 11, 2021 5:28 PM

Lynne Spears is the evil one in all of this. Britney and Jamie Lynn are messed because of their stage mother. She threw these girls to the lions.

Yet it's Jamie's fault somehow. If Lynne wasn't in the picture, both Brit and JL would be happy country girls still working on the farm.

by Anonymousreply 114February 11, 2021 5:55 PM

The internet is great because we got receipts on Lynne's shittiness...

Originally envisioned as a guide to parenting, Britney’s mom Lynne Spears’ book has instead reportedly morphed into a scandalous tell-all documenting the tabloid-worthy lives of her two daughters. According to In Touch Weekly, Lynne Spears: Through the Storm attempts to paint the Spears matriarch as a good mother despite the press’ claims of her being a terrible stage mom. Lynne claims she “never had any intention of profiting off her girls.” Lynne also discusses how she liked Kevin Federline, and that during Britney’s breakdown last year, Lynne’s “heart broke into a million pieces when she saw the look of despondency in Britney’s eyes.” That’s In Touch‘s preview. UK’s The Sun tells a much darker and incendiary portrait of Spears’ book. According to the admittedly sketchy UK tabloid, Lynne’s claims include that Britney started drinking alcohol at 13, lost her virginity at 14 and was caught doing cocaine on a private jet at age 16. At the moment, this might all just be hearsay, but we’ll find out the actual contents of the tell-all on September 16th when it hits bookstores.

Britney's father is on his way out. I wonder if #FreeBritney had much bearing on this. Maybe a wealthy angel investor listened and helped Britney's case.

I still don't think James Spears is this evil man though and I feel bad how the media and fans ruined his reputation based on rumors. I hope Lynne doesn't try to take over or worse Sam but I'm sure they are and will.
