Another twink bites the dust.

Landon Clifford, the teen dad and husband from popular YouTube channel “Cam&Fam,” has died. He was 19.

After spending six days in a coma due to a brain injury, he died on Aug. 19, according to an Instagram post by his wife Camryn Clifford and a gofundme page for his memorial fund.

“August 13th 2020 was Landon’s last day being the best dad and husband he could be,” Clifford wrote in the post. “After spending the following 6 days in a coma he passed on and donated several organs to people in need all over the country. He died saving the lives of others. That’s the type of person he was. Compassionate, loving, thoughtful, kind, and gentle. He was an amazing husband and the best father those girls could of ever asked for. It saddens me deeply that they will never get to truly know him. He was so young and had so much more life to live. This isn’t how things were supposed to go. He was meant to make it to his next birthday. He was meant to walk his daughters down the isle. He was meant to die old with me. Words can not come close to describe the pain I feel. All I can do now is make sure our girls know how much he loved us. He’s looking down on us from heaven and his light will shine through the clouds when we look up at him. May he rest peacefully.”

The couple had two daughters together, 2-year-old Collette Briar Clifford and three-month-old Delilah rose who was born in May. The family’s YouTube channel has amassed 1.29 million subscribers by posting content about their experience raising children as teenagers.

The last video the couple uploaded showed Landon trying out a simulator that mimics the pain of childbirth. That was on June 19. No videos have been posted to the channel since.

Earlier this month, Camryn posted about destigmatizing mental health struggles.

“Stop the stigma around mental health. You never know what someone else is going through so always choose to show kindness and grace,” she wrote.

He could play Ellen if he were still alive.

background on the coma and brain death, please?

by Anonymousreply 5August 25, 2020 7:12 PM

I’m guessing either suicide attempt or drugs. That’s probably why it’s not mentioned explicitly.

19 years old with 2 children already? Yikes!

by Anonymousreply 24August 25, 2020 11:12 PM

He had to be gay, right?

by Anonymousreply 30August 27, 2020 11:43 PM

Definite gayface, R30.

Which would be a huge trial for a guy who happened to be straight... but if he really was gay... stuck with a wife and kiddies at 17??? With no way to get away from the wife and kids, if youtubing was his job? If I'm right about the gayface, I strongly suspect a suicide attempt, but haven't checked out any of his videos. Does he visibly smell cookies?

by Anonymousreply 31August 27, 2020 11:50 PM

Clues are right there. TBI and his wife isn’t coming out saying it was due to sudden illness. You can have brain injury from cardiac arrest or stroke, among other things. But she’s not telling people the cause when if it was due to unexpected medical condition, there would be the expected public outpouring of sympathy. Likely the truth is a bit darker, hope I’m wrong but something seems off.

by Anonymousreply 32August 27, 2020 11:56 PM

I haven't watched but my impression from reading about them is that their YouTube channel (Cam and fam I think?) was about how great they're doing as super young parents. Second baby born just a few months ago.

by Anonymousreply 33August 27, 2020 11:58 PM

Yeah, well, everything people post on social media and youtube is fake, calculated to impress rather than to tell the truth.

If anyone posts on social media or youtube about how perfect their family life is, you can bet your last dollar that they're miserable and feel trapped and desperate.

by Anonymousreply 34August 28, 2020 12:02 AM

Why is their channel popular? Do people really encourage this stuff? He was probably a homophobic Christian.

by Anonymousreply 35August 28, 2020 12:02 AM

did he off himself?

by Anonymousreply 36August 28, 2020 12:10 AM

^^^That’s the unspoken rumor

by Anonymousreply 37August 28, 2020 12:26 AM

R32, you can have brain injury as a result of cardiac arrest, but it wouldn't be traumatic brain injury. Violent (traumatic) injury to the brain strongly suggests either an accident (e.g. car accident or fall from a high place) or deliberate injury, typically a bullet. If there was an accident, that would likely have been prominently mentioned in the announcement. The combination of "traumatic brain injury" and lack of explanation strongly suggest suicide or foul play.

by Anonymousreply 38August 28, 2020 12:44 AM

R38 You could get TBI from cardiac arrest, had a patient who suffered TBI from knocking his head on the floor after he suffered cardiac arrest. So while the trauma is from the fall, the reason for the fall e.g. medical problem was cardiac arrest.

by Anonymousreply 39August 28, 2020 12:55 AM

Very sad. But wait, wait, wait, wait, wait..... This twinkie is straight? He fucks girls? I’m sorry but his looks say otherwise.

Landon Clifford dies at 19: YouTuber's wife reveals his cause of death in emotional video

YouTube star Landon Clifford, who was declared brain dead on Aug. 18 following six days in a coma, died by suicide, his wife revealed Friday. He was 19.

In a new YouTube video, "My Husband Passed Away | Telling His Story," Camryn Clifford opened up about her husband's battle with anxiety, depression, ADHD and addiction.

"This is definitely going to be the hardest video I've ever had to make," Camryn, 19, began. "It took a while for me to obviously get over the initial shock… and to just gather my feelings and my thoughts and to feel like I'm ready to tell his story. It's a very important story to be told and it's my job to tell it, but it's not an easy story to tell, at all."

Camryn explained that Landon "started falling into a depression" when she got pregnant with their second daughter, a pregnancy the couple planned. Camryn and Landon, who married in June 2019, share daughters Collette Briar, 2, and Delilah Rose, who was born in May. The couple rose to prominence documenting their lives as teen parents on the YouTube channel Cam&Fam, which has garnered over 1.3 million subscribers.

"Behind the scenes, he was always just kind of going through his own stuff," she said. "He has had mental health issues for as long as I have known him."

According to Camryn, Landon fell into a "vicious cycle" of abusing his "highly addictive” ADHD and anti-anxiety medications that were prescribed by a psychiatrist after he "did the right thing" to seek help.

"It was a lethal mixture of these two very strong, heavy drugs… He just kind of fell in a hole," Camryn said. "He just kept taking more and more for his body to feel the effects. It was very unhealthy."

Camryn said she "wasn’t even aware" of her husband's struggle until he was "heavy in his addiction." The young mother said she was also battling depression around the same time throughout her second pregnancy.

After Delilah was born, Camryn said they were "really happy" for a while before slipping into another bout of depression as the adjustment to two children "hit us hard." She said they took a break from their YouTube channel because it was "mentally exhausting" only showing "the good parts" and went to stay with their respective families to heal.

"When we felt that we were ready, we went back to Austin (Texas) together, back to our home," Camryn said, adding that Landon continued taking his anti-depressants but had stopped taking ADHD and anti-anxiety medications. "It just really seemed like things were looking up."

On Aug. 13, however, Camryn said she "could tell something was wrong" after he apologized and "put a lot of blame on himself" for everything they had went through.

"I gave him a hug, a kiss and I told him I love him and that it's okay and that no matter what he ever did, I would always love him," she recalled. "After that he seemed okay."

Landon went to take a bath but she realized the bathroom was empty when she went to check on him 30 minutes later. After looking through all the rooms in their house, Camryn said she found Landon unresponsive in the garage.

"There's no words to describe how I felt at that time," she tearfully said. "Very few people will ever understand."

Camryn said Landon was declared brain dead on Aug. 18 after spending six days hospitalized in a coma. Camryn said he was registered as an organ donor and donated his organs.

"He donated everything. He wanted to save as many people as possible," she said. "He always put others above himself. Even in death, he was caring about people."

Camryn added: "If he knew everything that would follow after he did what he did, he wouldn't have. That's why I am here to tell his story because there are so many people out there who need to hear about what comes after."

On Aug. 21, Camryn shared an Instagram photo that appeared to show her hand resting on Landon's chest in the hospital. She revealed that her husband died on Aug. 19.

Camryn wrote in her post that she is saddened her daughters "will never get to truly know" their father.

Camryn capped off her post noting that she will "make sure our girls know how much he loved us."

"He’s looking down on us from heaven and his light will shine through the clouds when we look up at him," she added. "May he rest peacefully."

On Tuesday, Camryn posted a photo of herself with her older daughter to her Instagram Story, writing that her husband's memory lives on through their children.

"The best parts of him are still alive in them," she wrote. "whenever I miss him I just give my girls a big hug."

by Anonymousreply 47August 31, 2020 5:55 AM

Married and a parent too young. Over-exposed on social media. Probably had out of control depression and other mental health issues. It looks like the girl was the driver in the relationship. She needs to get off the stage now and pay attention to the kids.

by Anonymousreply 48August 31, 2020 6:14 AM

Like I said, EVERYTHING you see on social media and youtube is fake, it's what people want you to believe about their lives. The truth is always, always, always, uglier.

by Anonymousreply 53August 31, 2020 9:47 AM

Probably closeted, got in way too deep with the girl and two kids at 19 and saw no other way out. Could never live his truth. Sad.

These people who live their lives on YouTube are awful. Those who subscribe and watch are worse.

by Anonymousreply 54August 31, 2020 9:55 AM

With a million + YouTube subscribers shouldn't they have been raking in the dough? Why would she need a Gofundme?

I hate to say it but she'll probably be dating again by the middle of next month.

by Anonymousreply 55August 31, 2020 10:08 AM

I wondered the same about the GoFundMe. I think they can probably afford his funeral costs.

Poor kid.

by Anonymousreply 56August 31, 2020 5:20 PM

As for the GoFundMe... I presume the youtube channel was their chief means of support, and that's gone now, the same people who want to coo over cute kids with cute babies won't want to watch a youtube channel about a teenaged widow struggling to raise two kids and/or trying to find a new man.

So maybe she's got some money in the bank, maybe she hasn't, either way she's a kid of college age who doesn't have a college degree and who's got to raise and support two kids. There's no way she has enough money in the bank from a youtube channel that she'll never have to work again, so the GoFundMe is the last-gasp chance to squeeze some money out of the busted youtube balloon. Maybe she'll get enough money to go to college, but what are the odds that someone who had two kids by 19 has that much success.

by Anonymousreply 57August 31, 2020 5:44 PM

When your teenaged babydaddy has severe mental health issues, great iime to pop out yet another kid.

Ugh! That girl just likes to hear the sound of her own voice and d r a a a a a g s o u t her narrative WAY TOO LONG.

I’d have offed myself, too, if had to spend the rest of my life with her.

by Anonymousreply 59September 1, 2020 12:23 AM

And oh god the jump cuts.

by Anonymousreply 60September 1, 2020 12:33 AM

I’ve seen this discussed elsewhere. On Reddit, where there was very brief, very veiled mention of his possibly being closeted gay. Not even the merest suggestion on DM.

I don’t watch the show, but just googling, all you see are articles and interviews by the widow/baby mama. She comes across as a greedy and unpleasant shrew. My involuntary thought was “no wonder he killed himself!” I’m sorry for him, hopefully he’s at peace now.

by Anonymousreply 61September 1, 2020 1:24 AM

Watched a couple of their videos, not that I'd recommend it. He looks desperate and too people-pleasy. She's cold - narcissistic or sociopathic. The whole spiel about his drug addiction is covering her ass - she talked about their last night together - she went out partying with a friend lol. Came home, and he "apologized" (for babysitting all night?) Then she thought he was taking a bath (after an emotional break-down apology?) and finally, when a kid made noise, she checked on the kid and thought she'd look in the bathroom because he'd been there so long, then found him in the garage, hanging. Points out she then went to the kitchen to get a knife to cut him down...

Eerie stuff. Her eyes look so dead in every video/photo. Poor guy - trying to find himself and snared by a black widow... ugh.

by Anonymousreply 62September 1, 2020 1:26 AM

Do-overs!

by Anonymousreply 63September 1, 2020 1:36 AM

This story is the horrors of heterosexuality in a nutshell. People end up having babies because they want to feel loved or are desperate to be straight or think it'll give their life meaning or they just get careless... and find they're trapped. There are no good options, when you've become a parent, and you find that being a parent hasn't made you feel loved, or straight, or given your life meaning, or whatever it is you wanted out of the sex and/or pregnancy.

And this is why the quote about "lives of quiet desperation" won't go away, everyone remembers it for a reason.

by Anonymousreply 64September 1, 2020 6:54 AM

If you still want to party, then don’t have kids.

You can certainly see the first child being an “oops” but then to have another so quickly. . . crazy.

Awww, I did a rabbit hole of them last year and found him so sweet and engaging and put up with her vocal fry just to see him. This is very sad and I hope that talk and resolution that she would love him no matter what is true, and he at least felt that before hanging himself. All I could think of was poor Judy force feed those amphetamines to get her up, going and on in the morning and the barbiturates at night to put her to sleep. It makes me question what psychiatry looks like and functions in conservative Texas. I hope he’s at peace, she does seem, and has always come off as a work horse of strength so I hope that’s true and she can power forward. At what point though does she hide those videos as her kids become tech savvy and then introduce them to her daughters?
