Anderson Coopers’ stupid glasses

Does he wear them as a fashion statement? Does he think he looks smart? He never used to wear them back in the day when he used to be somewhat sexy.

His vision has deteriorated with age and he can't see without them now. He doesn't want to wear contact lenses, so spectacles are needed. I don't care for his choice of frames but at least they're plain and simple.

I don't understand what's so stupid about them. Plain black-rimmed glasses. Some people begin to need them with age, OP. When they have to read a teleprompter, for example.

That aside, I've also been thinking about Anderson these days. What's new with him? Has he gotten rid of that gutter rat Cohen yet?

by Anonymousreply 3August 23, 2020 5:07 AM

Anderson seems like the type to wear them because he thinks they make him look fashionable and smart.

by Anonymousreply 4August 23, 2020 5:19 AM

He IS fashionable and (somewhat) smart.

At first the grey hair and the dark-rimmed glasses looked hip and attractive. Now he looks very much like a senior citizen. I wonder what he would look like without the grooming and the makeup. I sincerely hope that he stays away from plastic surgery.

OMG, people age, R6, even the famous and the beautiful. Just accept it and move on ffs.

by Anonymousreply 7August 23, 2020 5:58 AM

Father, when you go off to do the news could I stay with one of the housekeepers? That muscled up ex-boyfriend/bartender scares me.

by Anonymousreply 8August 23, 2020 6:10 AM

Why would he stop the plastic surgery now, R6?

by Anonymousreply 9August 23, 2020 6:12 AM

No lenses? But how about when he's having hours long fucking sessions?

by Anonymousreply 10August 23, 2020 6:14 AM

I don’t like them either. They are too effeminate for my taste. They remind me of Iris Apfel or Carrie Donovan. Too gimmicky. He had rimless or some other kind previously that looked better. I mean, yeah it’s hard if you insist on wearing glasses. Some are very aging, so he thought the chunky plastic hipster route would be better, but these are too round or something. Like goggles. They make his eyes look bigger and I think he’s sexier with the smaller, squinty wolf eyes look. Hunter eyes, google it.

The important thing is that he likes them, OP.

by Anonymousreply 12August 23, 2020 6:21 AM

[quote] The important thing is that he likes them so little after hearing our complaints that he drops them off in the nearest donation box and gets something better.

Fixed it for you, r12!

R1 Nails it!

OP is obviously young, but wait, that silver clock hanging on the wall that ticks for us all will come for you too.

At some point everyone's eyesight starts to go. Those who were nearsighted for most of their lives get a short period where things even out and they don't need corrective lens (contacts or glasses) much or at all. This is part of the natural transition everyone goes through from normal vision to farsighted.

Most people don't notice change at first except for little things such as they cannot read with their contacts in, or if they had perfect vision now need "reading glasses". Some can see perfectly well close distance without glasses or corrective lenses, but need glasses for distance or in some cases to read.

In any event as we all age tolerance for contact lens usually begins to wane. You'll notice now that so many famous baby boomers are hitting their middle to late 50's into early 60's you're starting to see more and more famous faces wearing eye glasses all the time.

Andersen Cooper likely cannot read teleprompter and or even papers in front of him with out glasses. So there you are....

What an excellent post, R14.

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in fact.

They're more fashionable and stylish than those NASTY narrow little glasses so many men wore in the 90s and 00s or whenever it was.
