Here’s Joan Crawford on a rocket. There were a lot of photos like this created during that era. Does anyone know who was behind this type of design? Maybe the photographer’s name? It’s pretty unique.
All I can think of is the Fritz Lang movie Woman in the Moon (1930)...

I remember, fondly, all of the Warner Brother PR staff trying to decide how to show case dear Bette’s talents through photography. They tried cheesecake, but something about Bette eating too much cheesecake caused this plan not to work. Next, they tried glamour shots, but the PR staff said something about pigs and lipstick???
Anyhow, I truly thought they captured Bette at the height of her charm when they hit in the theme of natural, organic photography. This photo from the shoot is breathtaking Bette!
