The guy on the right in OP’s pic is Fernando Rivera. He made several McDonald’s commercials, in English, Spanish, and both over the course of a few years in English, in Spanish, and bilingual. The one completely in English got a lot of airplay a few years ago. Fernando played the manager who opens and reads out loud the college admission letter received by”Sebastian,” a cute young black employee who inexplicably brings the letter to his McD’s manager after receiving it instead of, oh I don’t know, his mother, a teacher, etc. Fernando’s hair was cut down to just a shadow in that commercial, as compared to his medium length hair in the Descovy ad.

By the way, I only learned Fernando’s real name because I looked it up to settle a non-serious disagreement my partner and I had after seeing the Sebastian ad for the umpteenth time. My partner said the actor playing the manager was white. I said he was Latino, which turned out to be correct. The one thing we agreed on is that Fernando was cast in the part because he could pass as either and that most Latinos of hi particular ethnicity would spot him as one of their own.

Don't blame the ad or our pharma masters for using the nonsensical "gender language" that the usual suspects have been forcing on all of us, just be thankful that these companies still see a difference between "transman/FTM" and "actual gay male." I'm a big believer in adapting the less-ridiculous gender language in order to more precisely and "non-offensively" draw the line between homosexuality and heterosexuality-with-extra-steps.

There are no contraindications for Women and Emtricitabine and Tenofovir which are the ingredients in Descovy. The Company were just too cheap to do full trials on their branded version which is primarily targeted at Men.

No r36, it's women, but they don't want to trigger the Trans people by saying that. I've worked on a couple of anti HIV med campaigns and have learned that a lot of women (particularly black women) have high HIV transmission rates because of a lot of things- drugs, rape, no sex with condoms.
