Just my opinion, R44, but I absolutely believe it is a scam. I've had a few of guys on Grindr do the same with me -- send me a message saying they like my profile, then after I respond, ask me for my phone number because they can't chat on the app for some reason. I did once and after sending my number to the guy, he disappeared. I believe it's just a way to get your number for spam phone calls. Of course, since that time (a couple of years ago), anytime it happens, I immediately delete and block.
