Why Are All of These Young Men So Muscular Today?

Seems like every young guy is some sort of bodybuilder, or trying to become one. Are girls attracted to this look?

by Anonymousreply 279April 14, 2023 11:05 AM

Diet and exercise play a part, but that particular look is the result of roids.

Anybody who says otherwise IS FULL OF SHIT!

by Anonymousreply 1August 11, 2020 10:52 PM

Ick. It looks like that grotesque Alves Brazilian tranny.

by Anonymousreply 2August 11, 2020 10:54 PM

Gee we've never spoken about this before. *eyeroll*

Men are objectified as much as women are now so men are more aware of their appearance. Blah blah blah blah blah for the fiftieth time.

by Anonymousreply 3August 11, 2020 10:58 PM

Well who is objectifying them, R3? And why respond by embracing and conforming to this image rather than fighting it the way women do?

by Anonymousreply 4August 11, 2020 11:04 PM

I know a lot of teens who are getting steroids they are easy to get.

by Anonymousreply 5August 11, 2020 11:12 PM

R4, it's men and women who objectify men now. You'll see "straight" bros commenting on thesee people instagram accounts saying stuff like "nice lats bro" and just commenting on different aspects of their body.

by Anonymousreply 6August 11, 2020 11:13 PM

"Please comment on my totally subjective view of the world based on the social media that I look at."

by Anonymousreply 7August 11, 2020 11:16 PM

Gurl you have to be buff prostitute yourself on Onlyfans!

by Anonymousreply 8August 11, 2020 11:17 PM

[QUOTE] You'll see "straight" bros commenting on thesee people instagram accounts saying stuff like "nice lats bro" and just commenting on different aspects of their body.

So it’s peer pressure that’s driving them towards this?

by Anonymousreply 9August 11, 2020 11:19 PM

When I was lifting weights, before it was trendy, I got noticed. Some pursued me uncomfortably.

I know plenty of men who look like the OP's image who do not take steroids. Ever. Some people have a genetic code which makes them able to produce muscle quicker and with less effort in the gym. I was always jealous of the guys whose outer pecs were cut so beautifully. I tried for years and could not achieve that particular look.

by Anonymousreply 10August 11, 2020 11:20 PM

R9, yeah, a lot of times. There's a big increase in steroid usage among men.

by Anonymousreply 11August 11, 2020 11:21 PM

Most of them do claim to be natural, R10. I don’t think you need steroids to look like this.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 12August 11, 2020 11:23 PM

Plus there’s more outlets to show off your body and get positive feedback in return. Believe me guys who look like OP’s photo are 1 in a 100, it’s just that there’s so many places that they can show off their bodies. Most guys still have the same bodies of the guys that you went to high school with. Whatever decade.

by Anonymousreply 13August 11, 2020 11:24 PM

R12, a lot of the times I think they want to look good for instagram.

by Anonymousreply 14August 11, 2020 11:25 PM

Also the guy I used in OP claims to be natural.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 15August 11, 2020 11:25 PM

R15, it's possible, he looks 18 so it's much easier to build muscle when you're younger.

by Anonymousreply 16August 11, 2020 11:28 PM

They're not. People are more likely to be overweight than ever. You're just drawn to the hot ones while ignoring the fat or scrawny ones

by Anonymousreply 17August 11, 2020 11:33 PM

R12 probably eats a low-fat, high-protein diet, or he dehydrates to achieve the veiny look. This is entirely possible without adding chemicals to the mix.

by Anonymousreply 18August 11, 2020 11:35 PM

Who is in the OP's pic?

by Anonymousreply 19August 12, 2020 12:08 AM

I wouldn't mind looking better; not as roidy as OP's pic, but I'd like my pecs to jut out ever so slightly over my tummy. and have some biceps

I'd like that IN a guy; I should be able to give it back.

by Anonymousreply 20August 12, 2020 12:14 AM

OP, holy fuck, that stud is smok’n hot.

by Anonymousreply 21August 12, 2020 12:20 AM

Claims to not use steroids is not the same as actually not using them. Some of you are easily fooled.

by Anonymousreply 22August 12, 2020 12:25 AM

Social media. If they want to stand a remote chance of getting laid they have to be post worthy (sponge worthy,if you are of a certan age) . A friends daughter has the face of a gargoyle, but an admittedly smoking hot body ,and every guy she posts on her face book have been nothing less than 9-10s. Ever. I doubt she even has ugly friends, though shes ugly herself.

by Anonymousreply 23August 12, 2020 12:26 AM

R23, there's always that one ugly girl in a group of "hot" girls that everyone talks shit about lol.

by Anonymousreply 24August 12, 2020 12:30 AM

[quote]Are girls attracted to this look?

Of course we are

by Anonymousreply 25August 12, 2020 12:34 AM

Women like a muscular look but not overly so. I think gay men are more turned on my overly muscled men than straight women are.

by Anonymousreply 26August 12, 2020 12:42 AM

Is this another one of those threads in which the OP feigns great concern about muscular young men and the impact of bodybuilding on their health? In other words, another transparent excuse to post endless photos from his Instagram teenage wank bank...?

'But, but, why do they do this, do people find this attractive?' C'mon.

by Anonymousreply 27August 12, 2020 12:43 AM

[quote] When I was lifting weights, before it was trendy, I got noticed. Some pursued me uncomfortably.

Why were they so uncomfortable when they pursued you? Was their underwear riding up their cracks?

by Anonymousreply 28August 12, 2020 12:44 AM

No, most women don't like that roided-out look and it's somehow down to mental illness of those monsteroids.

by Anonymousreply 29August 12, 2020 12:46 AM

I don't like it. Because it more than likely means these boys aren't cultivating their brains just as hard. And the last thing we need are roided up idiots roaming the streets.

by Anonymousreply 30August 12, 2020 12:48 AM

I think a lot of men who try to achieve OP's body are gay.

by Anonymousreply 31August 12, 2020 12:58 AM

Can no one identify this man's name or social media?

by Anonymousreply 32August 12, 2020 1:04 AM

Google Image search doesn't work.

by Anonymousreply 33August 12, 2020 1:04 AM

If they weren't getting laid because of it they wouldn't do it.

by Anonymousreply 34August 12, 2020 1:08 AM

They will drop of heart attacks before 40.

by Anonymousreply 35August 12, 2020 1:10 AM

I mean is this really that much of a mystery? Teen guys see images of hot muscular bros all over social media. Some of them decide they like the look and want to get in the game. So, they start hanging out at the gym after school if they’re not already there for organized sports. They throw around weights and they get results. They want more. A few are genetically gifted and just keep on growing. And those who are not, start using some enhancements. These guys realize that their body is currency that gets them noticed in person and on social media. And they get laid. Yes, there are a lot of gay guys who decide that they like the look, and if they want to get muscle boys in the sack, then they need to be a muscle boy (with a few rare exceptions).

by Anonymousreply 36August 12, 2020 1:11 AM

ten years ago, I was amazed at what I could accomplish by doing cardio and eating on a portion control plan; even cheating here and there, the weight melted off -- actually, it came off gradually; 40 lbs. in 1 year three months; new clothes; self-esteem soared; the next step was weights (and more situps)

then I took some professional hits and fell back into old bad habits; lost it all; so now, how to begin anew in a covid world when metabolism isn't as great and can't do cardio as often (plantar faciitis sp?)

by Anonymousreply 37August 12, 2020 1:17 AM

[QUOTE] No, most women don't like that roided-out look and it's somehow down to mental illness of those monsteroids.

So you’re saying these guys aren’t getting girls? If women were so repulsed by, I’m pretty sure they’d stop doing it.

by Anonymousreply 38August 12, 2020 1:20 AM

These guys are narcissists. They are not interested in women. They may be interested in other guys like themselves.

by Anonymousreply 39August 12, 2020 1:25 AM

because they get better only fans?

by Anonymousreply 40August 12, 2020 1:27 AM

😂 R39 they’re horny young men, and most of them are heterosexual. Believe me, they want women. And women want them. The myth that girls don’t like guys with muscles needs to die already.

by Anonymousreply 42August 12, 2020 3:33 AM

[quote]Believe me, they want women. And women want them. The myth that girls don’t like guys with muscles needs to die already.

So then why did you ask at the beginning of the thread if girls are attracted to this look? You already had your answer.

by Anonymousreply 43August 12, 2020 6:04 AM

Why are these young men so muscular today? Because they can easily buy steroids online. Many of them will be dead of heart attacks before 40.

by Anonymousreply 44August 12, 2020 6:31 AM

Just because steroids are easily available doesn’t explain why these kids are so eager to use them.

OP, it seems like you don't actually care to listen towhat others are saying. So why post this thraed? Troll.

by Anonymousreply 46August 12, 2020 4:18 PM

What people are saying so far doesn’t make any sense, R46. And a lot of it is contradictory.

by Anonymousreply 47August 12, 2020 4:27 PM

R45, what is your point? They ARE USING STEROIDS. End of subject.

by Anonymousreply 48August 12, 2020 7:43 PM

Why a new thread when we have huge longterm threads on this topic?

by Anonymousreply 49August 12, 2020 8:46 PM

"Just because steroids are easily available doesn’t explain why these kids are so eager to use them."

It's quite easy to explain: despite outward appearances, deep down, these little twats are desperately insecure and just as desperately seeking the validation of others. They have the emotional development of an 11 year old.

by Anonymousreply 51August 12, 2020 9:10 PM

R51 - Bravo. I hope that shuts up OP stupid question

by Anonymousreply 52August 12, 2020 9:12 PM

Too skinny and muscular. I like muscle, but I like a guy that doesn't look like they are starving themselves.

by Anonymousreply 53August 12, 2020 9:12 PM

I've been bodybuilding for over 20 years, and I know a steroid user when I see one, (like every day at the gym). But, they are in the distinct minority there. That guy on OP's post doesn't look like he uses steroids. Attend a "natural" bodybuilding show in your area, where they take blood samples on all of the contestants. There are some amazing-looking musclemen on those stages. They pride themselves on being enhancement-free, and the audiences give them a lot of respect because these guys didn't take any shortcuts.

It's clearly the value of hard work.

by Anonymousreply 54August 12, 2020 9:54 PM

Bodybuilding--the gayest sport known to man. Yet it attractls the most homophobic men.

by Anonymousreply 55August 12, 2020 10:00 PM

"the gayest sport known to man."

Gay or straight, it's not really a sport. It's more of an exhibition of exhibitionists.

The IOC has repeatedly denied bodybuilding a place at the Olympics because (a) its seriously seedy underbelly and (b) rampant drug use. The IOC knows it could make a lot of money by including BB in the Olympics, but the risks to its already greatly tarnished reputation are far too great for even a extremely corrupt organization like the IOC to take on.

by Anonymousreply 56August 12, 2020 10:30 PM

Exactly. It’s not always perfectly clear who’s using steroids or not. Can we definitively say that this body can’t be achieved without steroids?

If I were a straight woman, I would allow these brutish alpha beast, who are built-like-a-shit-brick-house, large and in charge, cornfed and alpha as fuck to gangbang me for my entire earthly existence! I would take on wrestling squads, rugby teams, American Football teams and whore myself out in frat houses and gyms. But only the muscliest guys would get to pump their strong seed in my cunt!

by Anonymousreply 58August 13, 2020 9:17 AM

This should be encouraged. These young men need to earn money and muscles make them more marketable. Would you rather they starve to death?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 59August 13, 2020 12:18 PM

R57, that's steroids. The lack of fat under the skin the tell-tale sign.

Also, severe starvation will do that

by Anonymousreply 60August 13, 2020 1:11 PM

How about you all shut the fuck up until you can name the guy?

by Anonymousreply 61August 13, 2020 1:13 PM

97% of the posters on this thread are obese effeminate 70 year olds who have never exercised a day in their life and haven’t talked to a young person in 40 years.

This thread is wonder, but for all the wrong reasons.

by Anonymousreply 62August 13, 2020 1:33 PM

by Anonymousreply 63August 13, 2020 1:42 PM

R62 is part of the 3% of the posters on this thread who hasn't got a pot to piss in because he spends all his shop bottom wages on gym memberships, gym bunny outfits, supplements and "gear."

And he'll keel over a die of a heart attack before he's 50.

by Anonymousreply 64August 13, 2020 1:50 PM

Bitching about the young and the muscular will not get anyone to touch your repulsive carcass...it will only turn them off more r64

by Anonymousreply 65August 13, 2020 1:59 PM

I don’t find it attractive. Guy in OP pic looks terrible. Give me a dad bod anyway, I find average is more sexy than roided up gym bunnies, who invariably come across as self obsessed and more than a little narcissistic.

by Anonymousreply 66August 13, 2020 2:09 PM

Who's bitching, R65? We're all laughing at your complete, total stupidity and seeming cluelessness.

Also, a grown man pretending to be a 12 year old, middle school mean girl is really grasping at straws.

Hissssss.

by Anonymousreply 67August 13, 2020 2:13 PM

The thing I find the most off putting about the guy in the OP is the eel like appearance of his skin.

by Anonymousreply 68August 13, 2020 2:28 PM

Getting fit can be done at home, with daily effort.

Getting muscular takes more dedicated effort, but its also technically possible at home.

Getting very muscular takes up your time, more facilities, and perhaps some 'help'.

None of this stuff is particularly hard for someone to plan for if they really care to.

This thread is just an excuse for OP to post guys' pics though.

by Anonymousreply 71August 13, 2020 3:18 PM

Gyms are everywhere these days. Gym culture is a thing now. 99% of humans like a fit muscular bod. On a man or a woman. It's no wonder you see huge bodybuilder bods on 11th graders.

Yes, if the bod is huge it's mostly due to steroids. Steroids are the shortcut that works (unlike all the snakeoil "supplements" out there). Very few guys have that mesomorph type bod that packs on muscle in all the right places "naturally". And it usually takes years to get that kind of definition, so you used to not see it on guys younger than around 25. Now you see it on 15 year olds.

by Anonymousreply 72August 13, 2020 3:26 PM

[quote] This thread is just an excuse for OP to post guys' pics though.

Isn't that true for almost every thread on Datalounge?

by Anonymousreply 75August 13, 2020 4:13 PM

R58 if I could erase one type of comment from the DL, it would be that.

Have you ever actually spoken to a straight woman before, and listened to her thoughts on men? With a handful of exceptions they don’t like the scenario you presented happening in real life - it’s a fantasy for many, true, but in the flesh another story.

Even the sluttiest sorority girl, who has fucked multiple jocks (some of them at the same time), still isn’t looking to be brutally gangbanged and used as a cumrag by meatheads at the gym all day every day. That’s a violent horrific plot from rape-porn.

Shocking as this sounds, female bodies and brains don’t actually respond very well to men who could - physically and mentally, taking roidrage into account - crush their head like a grape. Biologically it isn’t even advantageous no matter what Chads say, because all that working out doesn’t change the quality of genes imparted or improve the personality of the potential mate. But you knew all that.

by Anonymousreply 76August 13, 2020 4:48 PM

R76 I don't want them to 'destroy' me. I would want them to be gentle to me, caring, sweet and cute, but still a bit alpha. They will finger me to several strong squirting orgasms!

by Anonymousreply 77August 13, 2020 4:50 PM

R76 = the frauiest frau who ever fraued ! Probably never put her mouth on a dick in real life "eeewww, that So gross!"

Straight women cunts, like r76, ruin everything with their literal minds, entitlement and their penchant for hysteria.

Why would I need an excuse to post pics? I could make a thread posting random pics without saying a word. In fact there’s many threads like that on here, and I’m not a participant in a single one. There’s a reason for that, R69.

I post the pictures to visually contend points during discussion and exemplify my overall concern. I don’t like the way things are and I’m speaking out. If you’re fine with what’s going on and/or you’re incapable of engaging in a sensible debate, then maybe this isn’t the thread for you. The same goes for R27.

by Anonymousreply 96August 13, 2020 10:03 PM

by Anonymousreply 101August 14, 2020 12:22 AM

Unless you've met a bodybuilder, you really don't know what he is thinking. I know an opera singer who bodybuilds; the exercise keeps his lungs in top form and he can endure long series of words in a single breath. He told me steroids would alter his singing abilities, so he doesn't use them. A man currently working on two patents says steroids would alter his moods and concentration; therefore he doesn't use them. Another man I know is a body part model, "hands, feet, eyes..." Taking steroids would change his skin and the amount of water he naturally carries. So, he doesn't use them.

I know these three men from working out with them for over a decade. Their bodies look dynamite. Someone may assume no results are achieved unless steroids are used. They haven't met the real people whose lives are affected by the fitness choices they make. It diminishes all of their accomplishments, physically and professionally, to say every damn one of them is on the juice.

They're not. If anyone wants to challenge this, go to a gym for a month and talk to the guys who are there. Then tell me you can flatly say all bodybuilders, no matter how their physiques look, are on steroids.

by Anonymousreply 102August 14, 2020 2:48 AM

The aging fat queens who are bitching about these guys being on steroids have not set foot in a gym for their entire life r102. You know it, I know it, they know it. The fatties are not going to have a conversation with any guy who looks like the OPs pic because they might as well be two different species. Your post is well thought out, but you are pissing into the fat envious effeminate wind.

by Anonymousreply 103August 14, 2020 3:50 AM

Obviously R103 your gym regime isnt producing the result you wanted because instead of being out on a hot date with some other gym bunny your on here pointing out other peoples supposed faults. I guess nobody ever told you that a hot body doesnt necessarily override a fuck ugly mug.

by Anonymousreply 104August 14, 2020 4:06 AM

“Gym bunny” is only used by obese effeminate 70 year olds

by Anonymousreply 105August 14, 2020 4:13 AM

by Anonymousreply 106August 14, 2020 4:22 AM

Lulz ^

You are arguing with a faceless stranger on the internet. If you think that you’ve “hit a nerve” and it comforts you from your confessed self hatred, by all means, you keep thinking that.

by Anonymousreply 107August 14, 2020 4:40 AM

Yeah - steroids are rampant for sure. The sad reality is that you only look great for just so many "cycles". They take their toll on your body. 10 years ago I had a couple buddies who were both very handsome and sexy athletes who decided to start "bodybuilding". Neither needed to change a thing and I wish that they never did. One was a closeted fuck bud and the other a straight acquaintance - both in their early 20's at that time. Did they spend more time in the gym to bulk up and sculpt? I would say marginally yes...maybe - but the primary change was that they started anabolic steroid cycles. For the first couple of years they looked noticeably sexier - lean, ripped, bulging in all the right places, guns, buns, abs and very much hotter than ever. The change was obvious and I have to say was a jaw-dropping improvement. Fast forward a few years later and neither were looking the same. Both were getting puffy, had bad skin, thicker ankles and wider hips (not in a good way) and I noticed that they were facially different - thicker necks and more jowly. They had left the Adonis level and now seemed more "fit fat" and looked a lot older. Now 10 years later - neither are very attractive at all. Both suffer from Gynecomastia which is not attractive in the least. Both have gained weight in all the wrong places and the body changes appear to permanent. The straight one stopped working out all together after he and his wife had 2 kids. He easily gained 60/70 lbs and is a far cry from the stud that he once was. That said, he seems happy and settled into being a dad. The fuck bud still lifts but looks flabby and thick (even at 6'3"). I have to assume that both guys would still be achingly handsome had they just avoided the juice to begin with - but those 2/3 years of being an Adonis must have been worth it? I won't even start on how anabolics changed their personalities; that story has been told thousands of times and doesn't bear repeating.

by Anonymousreply 108August 14, 2020 4:41 AM

My third friend has been using anabolics for 15 years and seems to have none of these side effects. He is still ripped and lean. So like every drug - it all depends on the user.

For those that don’t know what these guys are doing to themselves, here is an enlightening article on Zac Efron and male body shame:

[QUOTE] Efron even knows his body isn’t the norm. In his “Hot Ones” interview, Efron stated, “That was actually a really important time to do Baywatch because I realized that when I was done with that movie, I don’t ever want to be in that good of shape again. Really. It was so hard. You’re working with almost no wiggle room, right? You’ve got things like water under your skin that you’re worrying about, making your six-pack into a four-pack. Shit like that — it’s just not — it’s just stupid.”

[QUOTE] To remain perfectly defined, Efron had to worry about everything he put in his body, down to how much water he drank each day. That routine does not create a healthy mindset, which certainly took its toll on Efron.

[QUOTE]Efron reiterates this in in Episode 4, titled “Sardinia,” when Efron and his costar, lifestyle guru Darin Olien, travel to Sardinia, Italy, to explore why so many of the region’s residents live to become centenarians. They find that one reason is because of the local diet. Locals eat far less protein than Americans and more whole, unprocessed carbs and vegetables. For example, pasta is a staple in their daily lives.

[QUOTE]Efron got emotional, seeming to nearly cry, while eating the pasta he had cooked alongside the locals. “I’m so glad I’m eating carbs again. Like, I went years without eating carbs. When I was shooting Baywatch, I didn’t have a carb for like six months. I almost lost my mind. You-you need this,” he said. Carbs are an essential part of the human diet and avoiding them completely is considered a form of disordered eating. Limiting a vital piece of the human diet is far too restrictive. The path to a healthy diet is moderation, not excessive constraints.

R157 = Triggered

by Anonymousreply 162August 16, 2020 12:35 AM

I stopped working out at the age of 50, R143. I've never used steroids. I'm now sixty and I have gained weight, enough to say I have a pudgy belly and my nipples fell four inches when my chest got smaller. I don't miss the workouts anymore. If you asked me this fifteen years ago, it would seem unheard of to me.

I had my share of gorgeous men asking me out, wrestlers who expressively wanted to pin me, creeps who won't take "no" for an answer, old men at nude beaches who walked over to say hello and compliment me. I was very proud of my body, especially since I was a geeky, nerdy, thick-rimmed glasses wearer in school. I enjoyed the looks on their faces when I walked into my 25th high school reunion.

I had my fun. I enjoyed the attention. But I realize I have a more challenging path in life. I will never look that way again, and it's OK.

I do have to share that when regular gym members got married, we never saw them at the gym again. Babies were born. Their careers were more serious. Their priorities change. So, don't give these guys a hard time. Ten years from now, they will probably be pudgy and their bodies will start to slip downward, just like all the rest of us.

My biggest regret, a Playgirl photographer once asked me to pose for him. I said "No!" I wish I could see those pictures now.....

by Anonymousreply 163August 16, 2020 12:58 AM

R163 Please tell me about those brutish wrestlers! What age were you when they wanted to pin you? How old were they?

by Anonymousreply 164August 16, 2020 8:01 AM

R163, I was in my 30s. Most of the guys were farm boys. "Wanna'r Wrassel?" I never took them up on it. One guy followed me out the door and then he suddenly appeared aside me in his car. "I see you'n a singlet, big cock an' thick pubes I want to pull on." I turned around and went back into the bar, ready to call the police if necessary. Luckily I never saw him again.

by Anonymousreply 165August 16, 2020 11:53 PM

There are plenty of ripped married men in their 50s and 60s at my gym. Just because they are older and married doesn’t mean they don’t wanna be buff

Genetics play a huge part but men, in general, are in their sexual prime in their late teens - meaning the highest levels of Testosterone. So they can pack on muscle.

by Anonymousreply 172August 18, 2020 3:10 PM

They might be able to pack on muscle quickest in their late teens, but men are most muscular in mid to late 20s. If you lift regularly and continuously from teens, you Can get bigger each year throughout your 20s.

by Anonymousreply 173August 18, 2020 3:16 PM

my nephew is like that - is his obsessed with being ripped. He works out constantly and watches what he eats, preps his meals for the week on sunday and works out twice a day. He is 15. I had a talk with my sister about him - I wanted her to get him checked for body dysmorphia but she said all the kids are doing it and brushed it off. I am expecting his only fans page in 3...2...

by Anonymousreply 179August 19, 2020 3:04 PM

I was always fit but built big muscle mass from about 38 and stayed that way for about 10 years or so. I was never ripped like these guys - didn’t want to be - but had a flat stomach, big muscle ass, lots of power, a really good physique. I used to really enjoy going to the gym.

But what happens is like what R163 says, something happens. Marriage, kids, business travel, etc. In my case, I had serious health issues at around 49 and lost about 70% of my mobility. For about 2.5 years, all I did was remedial exercise and rehabilitation. I fought my way back from there and I still exercise but nothing like programmes I used to work. I’ve had some success occasionally to work a programme for about 7 - 10 weeks, stringing together some sessions but, y’know, stuff happens. I couldn’t afford my luxury gym anymore and it was just challenging to replicate what I’d been doing for 10 years at a budget gym.

I’m still in it though. I just turned 54, still recovering from a bad bout of COVID (I was hospitalised for a month). But I still have great form and amazingly retain about 80% of my strength. I’m not out yet, it’s worth the effort to maintain your health and fitness while you can.

But, of course, these guys won’t look like that forever. I think they stymie their growth potential by starting too soon and all those supplements do mess up their body’s natural metabolism.

by Anonymousreply 180August 19, 2020 4:27 PM

It’s difficult to be swole and ripped at same time

by Anonymousreply 181August 19, 2020 4:55 PM

R176 no not an abundance but I teach at a European STEM university :). But there is a huge general university in my city and yes more boys than ever are muscle heads, but it's hardly the majority, at all, for university boys.

R182 You should call those muscle heads in your office!

by Anonymousreply 183August 19, 2020 7:56 PM

I think there's more use of HGH (human growth hormone). There's also a lot of use of creatine, which makes the muscles bigger but is natural. Steroids are used a lot, at least a friend of mine who's a gym rat tells me about many cases of people who use tham.

by Anonymousreply 184August 19, 2020 8:03 PM

Something like a new, modern day version of the old Schwarzenegger movie “Pumping Iron.” What’s interesting is that film was about grown men in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. Very few young men were trying to be bodybuilders back then, whereas a contemporary remake would be populated by teens.

[quote]There’s no such thing as too much muscle mass when it comes to these guys. This dude probably looks in the mirror and thinks he’s scrawny.

I worked out in the '80s and '90s. I never saw myself as anything approaching hunky or muscular, even though I gained 17 pounds of muscle over that period. Years later, I would run into people I knew back then, and they would say something along the lines of "Yeah, you were quite a hunk those days."

This always surprises me. It's not like I suddenly became any more popular. Neither Eric (definitely gay) nor Jeff (maybe gay) from the Dupont Athletic Club seemed to even notice I existed. I got more attention from Louis (definitely straight, but the best-looking guy in the gym).

I had a few boyfriends those days, but people were, I suppose, afraid to have sex. None of them became the great love of my life. Of the three guys I was that attracted to during this period, two never set foot in a gym.

R223 is correct. I know of many dudes with boulder Shoulders who are natty. They consistently lift heavy at least five times per week. You can tell Who doesn’t lift heavy consistently by the ridiculous assertion every swole guy is juicing.

Your guy is hot, R224.

because muscles look and feel better. That's why we do it

lazy fat, average and skinny slobs don't understand that though

by Anonymousreply 227August 20, 2020 5:52 PM

R227 Damn, fuck me, you alpha!

by Anonymousreply 228August 20, 2020 6:00 PM

Once you become buff, you become addicted to how your body looks and feels. I love how my physique looks in clothes and how people compliment me about my physique. I love how hot people pay attention to me. I love the attention from both men and women, sometimes at the very same time.

by Anonymousreply 229August 20, 2020 6:45 PM

I also love dating buff people. I love how his ripped abs feel pressed up against my back, how his hard muscles surround me, how his muscled bubble butt looks in my bed, how he flexes for me.

by Anonymousreply 230August 20, 2020 6:47 PM

That may be the most interesting insight of all, R229. I can imagine the attention one gets walking around looking like this guy, say at college or maybe after the last bell at high school when you can take your shirt off and hang out in the student parking lot. Perhaps that euphoric feeling becomes addictive.

R229 R230 How does one feel having so many big muscles? Want to post a pic? Would you ever hate-fuck a non-muscled bottom?

by Anonymousreply 232August 20, 2020 7:04 PM

Maybe it’s not really about girls at all, but the looks of respect and envy from other men that’s craved most by the musclebros.

The problem with being buff is it is never enough. I have known enough buff guys in my time. Each one wasn't happy with something (like a tiny piece of fat on their waist that no one else could see) and they would absolutely obsess about it.

Having taken it -testosterone is easy to get and you only need to inject once a week for gains. HGH is much more expensive and causes the jaw, nose and brow to grow - hgh abuse is easier to spot.

by Anonymousreply 246August 22, 2020 3:34 AM

And what about the side effects of testosterone, R246?

This is silly. Don’t engage with them, pervos.

I really don't get it - almost all the young guys in this thread and most other threads on DL are of this skinny six-pack muscle variety. I think their stomachs look like crayfish. Give me dad bods, linebackers, beefy Max Gail, anyone other than these thin gym rats. Whenever I post guys I like, though, there's ALWAYS a "why are you posting fat guys" response.

by Anonymousreply 257November 22, 2020 10:05 PM

Can’t you make a thread for fat guys, R257?
