One study, involving tape-recordings of gay and straight men, found that 75 percent of gay men sounded gay to a general audience. It’s unclear what the listeners responded to, whether there is a recognized gay “accent” or vocal quality. And there is no hint as to whether this idiosyncrasy is owed to biology or cultural influences—only that it’s unmistakable.
-New Yorker
Yep, I certainly sound gayish. I'm embarrassed sometimes to hear back my voice recordings.

[quote] It's hard to summarize, but findings from experiments on the brain in the early 1990s showed that a cell cluster in the hypothalamus of gay males was closer in size to that of straight females to that of straight males. "...because AIDS was still largely a gay disease, it was possible for the first time to do detailed neuroanatomical studies on the bodies of known gay men." (Lesbians were not included because they weren't victims of AIDS.)
An experiment was later done on sheep because they are among the animals that practice homosexuality. There were similar findings, in other words, it was always knows that the brains of men and women were hard-wired differently, but this proved gay men were hard-wired differently from either.
This is a rather old article so it says studies are to be conducted within a year to see if a gene can be linked to homosexuality (this has been done, right? Not sure.)
The illustrations have captions that cover other studies. It was found that gay men have hair whorls (pattern on the back of the head) that tend to go counterclockwise, while more straight men's whorls go clockwise. "Gay men and lesbians have a 50 percent greater chance of being left-handed or ambidextrous than their straight counterparts." "Gay men and straight women have an increased density of fingerprint ridges on the thumb and pinkie of the left hand."

*sorry, none of that was supposed to be in quotes. I tried to summarize the article as someone asked me to.

"The index fingers of most straight men are shorter than their ring fingers, and for most women they are the same length or longer. Gay men and lesbians tend to have reversed ratios."

Sorry, I thought it would be an interesting thread. Oops. lol

It IS an interesting thread OP. Nice change from all the politics and shit about vacuous "stars". Damn interesting article too
Checked my index finger, and yeah its longer than my ring finger, slightly more so on my left hand
I'm also the third born of three brothers, older two are both straight.
My gaydar is still a piece of shit though

R6 my hands are like a straight guys, in that picture, I also have an incredibly deep voice, so deep that people have a hard time understanding me when I talk, also because I don't enunciate at all and I talk in a monotone voice
Most straight guys have higher more feminine voices than me
I'm also gay as hell, I love that dick

Thanks to those who like the thread. Interestingly I have the straight man's head whorl and straight man's index and ring finger.
Wonder what else they've discovered in the years since this article came out?
