$1,200 Stimulus Checks Not Included In Trump’s Executive Measures

The executive order and accompanying memoranda signed by Donald Trump are receiving a negative response because many feel that they don’t do enough to help the millions of Americans who are struggling in the midst of the pandemic.

The order itself fails to extend the eviction moratorium, doesn’t provide additional funding to help struggling renters and homeowners, and keeps millions of renters at risk for eviction over the coming months. In essence, the order passes the buck to other officials to ultimately decide whether another moratorium is necessary.

Not fair!!

by Anonymousreply 1August 10, 2020 11:56 AM

This is a huge failure. How was this left out of the executive orders?

I think the EOs were just a ploy to cut the stimulus from 600 to 300.

That’s it. That was the only point.

by Anonymousreply 2August 10, 2020 11:58 AM

This seems like a huge gyp.

by Anonymousreply 3August 10, 2020 12:09 PM

I don't understand his reasoning,

What could be better for his reelection than checks for $1,200 -- signed by Trump -- arriving in late-September/October?

Obviously not a Trump fan, but this seems politically unwise.

by Anonymousreply 4August 10, 2020 12:13 PM

He is such a loser. Can’t even do a single thing right.

by Anonymousreply 5August 10, 2020 12:14 PM

The lady at OP is having a really hard time with the news.

by Anonymousreply 6August 10, 2020 12:16 PM

This is going to comeback on the business who won’t have as many customers.

How does getting rid of the $1200 help the economy?

by Anonymousreply 7August 10, 2020 12:34 PM

Spread the word on social media because people are so confused and have no idea what is going on with pandemic aid.

by Anonymousreply 8August 10, 2020 12:42 PM
by Anonymousreply 9August 10, 2020 12:53 PM

I can't win with you people.

I give you checks for $1200.00, I get shit.

I don't give your checks for $1200.00, I get shit.

Which is it?

You people are ruining my golf game, you know that, don't cha?

by Anonymousreply 10August 10, 2020 12:54 PM

Unless you are filthy rich, do not expect a thing from this asshole.

by Anonymousreply 11August 10, 2020 12:56 PM

What's bad for the economy as a whole is good for the plutocratic lords of chaos. Shouldn't that be obvious? What did you saps think you were voting for?

by Anonymousreply 12August 10, 2020 12:58 PM

The deplorables need the money the most.

by Anonymousreply 13August 10, 2020 1:00 PM
Obviously not a Trump fan, but this seems politically unwise.

You type surprised.

His entire term has been politically unwise.

Just two examples:

When asked if he takes responsibility for the American deaths at a press conference and his response was “I take no responsibility,” can you envision Bill Clinton (or any established politician) not coming up with a way to answer that question? Even if they weren’t really answering it?

And when New York was practically begging for ventilators and trump said they didn’t need them. Any true politician would’ve said “Take what you need,” so if they complained more you would have the option of saying “Hey, I gave them everything they needed. All they had to do was ask. Now they’re saying we didn’t do enough?”

Simple shit like that.

by Anonymousreply 14August 10, 2020 1:06 PM

The Payroll tax is cut, that's money in people's pockets.

by Anonymousreply 15August 10, 2020 1:08 PM

Doesn’t the employer pay the payroll tax? The tax cut then goes to the employer?

What if you don’t have a job? How can you take advantage of the payroll cut?

by Anonymousreply 16August 10, 2020 1:11 PM

For social security, 6.2% is deducted from the employee's gross pay. The employer contributes another 6.2% of the gross pay.

For Medicare, its 1.45% from the employee, and 1.45% contribution from the employer.

So if you gross 10K between now and 12/31/20, an employee would save $765.00. If Trump ain't reelected, the employee is on the hook for $765.00.

by Anonymousreply 17August 10, 2020 1:17 PM

so that would come out to like $20 a week which is about what the extra price in food and rising gas prices eats up every week.

Now we have to by masks and gloves and all these extra expenses.

by Anonymousreply 18August 10, 2020 1:21 PM
So if you gross 10K between now and 12/31/20, an employee would save $765.00. If Trump ain't reelected, the employee is on the hook for $765.00.

Very mobster-ish of him. "I'll lets ya keep a little bit, but if yous don't vote for me, I'ma gonna need ya to send it in right away. Just sometin' to think about."

by Anonymousreply 19August 10, 2020 1:29 PM

I make 80k. If they took away the payroll taxes totaling 7.65% (6.2 SS and 1.45 Medicare) = that would give me $510 extra a month, which would be more than $1200 if it lasted for 3 or more months.

But, I wouldn't touch the money with a 10 foot pole under the assumption that I'd have to pay it back in a lump sum. Plus, my future Social Security and Medicare would be in jeopardy; or should I say MORE in jeopardy.

And of course, this wouldn't help those who are unemployed. What a clusterfuck.

by Anonymousreply 20August 10, 2020 1:31 PM

R4, Trump is so crazy that he whines about not being liked, then goes out of his way to do the exact thing that will make him LOATHED by the most people possible.

There have been countless times he could have done something crazy but beneficial to Americans and he has balked almost every single time. The first stimulus I think was the only time he actually went through with it, and then he started complaining about it immediately. It's insane, it makes no sense on any level.

by Anonymousreply 21August 10, 2020 1:32 PM

But this is all BS right? It's not even legit.

by Anonymousreply 22August 10, 2020 1:37 PM

I think he is a stooge for foreign oligarchs. If they want don’t want us to have the money, we will not get the money.

The foreign oligarchs wanted America brought to our knees. They have succeeded with his help.

by Anonymousreply 23August 10, 2020 1:37 PM

"[R4], Trump is so crazy that he whines about not being liked, then goes out of his way to do the exact thing that will make him LOATHED by the most people possible."

Trump doesn't give a fucking rat's ass whether he's liked or not. As long as he's liked by the RIGHT people, i.e. the people he played golf with this weekend, he's good to go.

by Anonymousreply 24August 10, 2020 1:54 PM

This is the taxpayers money. Not the republican’s money for them to play games with the people.

by Anonymousreply 25August 10, 2020 1:59 PM

No wonder people have to break into stores to feed their families.

by Anonymousreply 26August 10, 2020 2:08 PM
If Trump ain't reelected, the employee is on the hook for $765.00.

I still ain't voting for the ugly, fat, stupid fuck.

Can I bill him?

by Anonymousreply 27August 10, 2020 2:11 PM

Trump’s order is not the end of it. Negotiations will continue.

by Anonymousreply 28August 10, 2020 2:14 PM

Mitch will let the people of Kentucky starve but they will still vote for him again.

by Anonymousreply 29August 10, 2020 2:18 PM
Trump’s order is not the end of it.

Trump’s order is not even the beginning of it.

by Anonymousreply 30August 10, 2020 2:34 PM

How did they arrive at $1,200? And not $1,000 or $2,000 or some other amount. There is no rhythm or reason to anything this country does anymore. Well, protect the rich I suppose.

Outrageous!

by Anonymousreply 34August 10, 2020 5:06 PM

This is the people’s money.

by Anonymousreply 35August 10, 2020 6:35 PM

I hate this motherfucker.

by Anonymousreply 36August 10, 2020 6:37 PM

I don't understand Trump...but one thing is clear, his impulse is to always do the wrong thing.

by Anonymousreply 37August 10, 2020 6:40 PM

It explains the fact that people feel they have to steal to provide for their families.

What else are they supposed to do with no jobs?

by Anonymousreply 38August 10, 2020 6:47 PM
How did they arrive at $1,200? And not $1,000 or $2,000 or some other amount. There is no rhythm or reason to anything this country does anymore.

$7.50 (federal minimum wage) x 40 hrs per week= $300 x 4 weeks= $1,200

by Anonymousreply 39August 10, 2020 6:58 PM

Thank you R39!!!!

by Anonymousreply 40August 10, 2020 7:03 PM

So the republicans won’t even give people minium wage.

Vote them all out!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 41August 10, 2020 7:05 PM

R41 His retarded fans will still vote for him. He could shit in their mouths and they would love it.

by Anonymousreply 42August 10, 2020 7:18 PM

Not a peep about this in the presser.

by Anonymousreply 43August 10, 2020 10:31 PM

Because he and his people know it was just a stunt; like “the caravan” in 2018.

For example, the payroll scheme means someone earning $80,000 would get a $2500 “tax cut” between now and the end of December. As would their employer.

BUT, unless you’re betting a [italic] re-elected [/italic] TRump could convince Democrats to go along with a multi billion dollar gut of Social Security / Medicare the employees and employers would get a total $5,000 tax bill come January, on top of the combined $1,000 a month in current payroll taxes then due.

Who’d take that bet?

by Anonymousreply 44August 11, 2020 2:56 AM

Why does he keep saying it will force people to look for work, when everywhere companies are eliminating 1000s of jobs? When brick 'n mortar stores are closing en masse?

He has no idea how the real world functions, because he's been rich his whole life.

by Anonymousreply 45August 11, 2020 3:03 AM

Why aren't Americans protesting these cuts? Maybe if they were reminded they affect Black Trans Who Matter they would get off their asses and REVOLT.

by Anonymousreply 46August 11, 2020 3:15 AM
R6 The lady at OP is having a really hard time with the news.
Why does he keep saying it will force people to look for work, when everywhere companies are eliminating 1000s of jobs?

You didn’t get the nuance. He didn’t say find work. He said look for work. He knows people aren’t getting jobs.

Do you think this mutt ever had to look for work a day in his entire life? R45 nailed it.

by Anonymousreply 48August 11, 2020 2:15 PM

This sucks.

by Anonymousreply 49August 11, 2020 3:12 PM

The stimulus check approvals by Trump were never in question by anybody but extremely greedy Republican puppetmasters, Boris @ r10.

Now Trump can add stimulus neglect to the 3,000 other reasons Trump is unfit to be President.

Tell us how you're not going to lose business if most people are broke, r10. Tell us again why a deadly pandemic can't even justify borrowing money or government action, r10.

Enjoy a deeper depression, loss of business and more Republican senators and Congressmen going STRAIGHT DOWN THE SHITTER on Nov. 3, you myopic motard!
