Once Upon a Time in the Valley
A web series about Tracy Lords and the porn industry as it went to video.
I am finding it fascinating to listen to. She may have been the biggest manipulator of all time.
The movies are illegal in the US but not in Europe. I bet a lot of people buy them here when on vacation and take them back.
The fact that they are illegal also explains why the porn stores all have a huge DVD of Traci Lords even now almost 40 years later.

Hello, pedo troll.
You know what this means...

Hu?
Are you so stupid you think that listening to a podcast can make one into a pedo?
Btw, the word pedo does not apply to those who have gone through or are in puberty so .....

Her plan to make one legal video that she owned on her 18th birthday, then come out as underaged in all the other videos, making hers the only one legally available during this press frenzy about her, was fucking brilliant.

I remember seeing her in Those Young Girls with Harry Reems, circa 1985, and Harry was quite buff and in a speedo the whole time - incredibly sexy. Shame they had to pull it.

R3 which is why everyone in the porn business thinks she planned the whole thing.

Seriously? She was underaged and doing porn. By definition, she’s being abused. Doesn’t matter how many fake IDs she presented, it was a crime to film her doing porn.
Then she turns it all around on the abusers and make the videos they shot worthless, makes cash for herself, and semi-legitimizes her name going forward.
She’s a fucking genius.

While the reason she went to the trouble of getting a fake ID may have been due to child abuse. She CHOSE porn at this age. She went after it with a gusto.
Fake ID, Fake Passport, all chosen by her. I say that she chose abuse then.
Genius...maybe, cunt without question.

How sick do you have to be to say that a minor chooses to be abused?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 10, 2020 6:58 PM

I wonder if she'll ever tell the truth about her childhood, because anyone who chooses a career in porn at such a young age has probably suffered years and years of sexual and emotional abuse.
Someone take a good hard look at her father.

Dear idiot at R10 she CHOSE porn as a career. If you choose it is it abuse?
I know men who choose to be subs, who choose abuse, beatings, cages etc.
Not everyone is a minor in the same way. There is no magic switch that goes on at 18.

Who cares if she screwed over a bunch of sleazy pornographers?
They got what they deserved.

I always thought she was the one who ratted herself out to the FBI, and based on the interviews in the podcasts with her co-stars, I'm now convinced of it.
On the one hand, I admire her brilliance. On the other hand, the fact that she was such a nymphomaniacal little twat who never met a cock she didn't like, then tried to convince the world she was an innocent victim duped into porn really pisses me off.
It's a great podcast series. Christy Canyon is a hoot!

It is a great podcast, the interviews with the other porn stars are hilarious. Traci played them like a fiddle, respect.
I am curious what the new episodes will be about as I thought the story was over. Maybe the sister will tell her side of the story.

R15 Exactly. I'd have much more respect for her if she had just said, "I was an ambitious teen girl with a hot body and killer set of knockers who loved sex and used all of it to my advantage."

"I know men who choose to be subs, who choose abuse, beatings, cages etc. "
Do you know any kids of 15-16 who've chosen those hobbies? No, you don't, because those are things you get into after you've had enough experience to discover your full sexual self and what you like. No kid in their mid-teens should have that kind of broad and varied experience, it takes too long.
And R16, people don't get into prostitution or porn because they love sex, they get into those things because they've got nothing else to sell, or they think that sex is the only thing other people value them for. Now a kid of 15-16 shouldn't need to be thinking about what they have to sell to survive, they should be in school and not worrying about what they have to sell to survive. It's far more likely that any kid who goes into porn at 16 has been treated as a sexual object since a frighteningly early age, and has not only accepted their role as sex object, but has been at the sex object thing long enough to learn to exploit and control that role. Anyone who's in porn at 16 has been in exploitive relationships far longer, and that means child abuse happened.

Traci has always lied about her time in porn (amongst other things). She was a very shrewd for her age. She was not in a position where she had to do porn. She procured a ID so convincing (the same one she fooled the porn industry with) that the US government issued her a passport without question. That and photographer Suze Randall having the foresight to photograph her holding up her (phony) ID is what got everyone off the hook and showed that she misrepresented herself and fooled pretty much everyone.
Even one of her sisters called her out after her book came out and pretty much said she lied frequently, her lies hurt many people over the years and not no one really bothered to try and check out her claims. Too bad it took this long for it to happen.

Before this 'abused' child was 18 she had her own production company, meaning it was self abuse.

Won’t someone think of the poor pornographers!
They got played by a teenager they had been filming being raped. (Legally, fucking an underaged girl is rape, and you know it)
She’s such a meanie, to treat those poor men this way!

R24 Yes, technically she was raped, but based on the recollections of her co-stars and peers, she was quite good at it.

I listened to the podcast after finding this thread.
I think being poor, sexual abuse, having an abortion at 15 and living in Redondo Beach with basically no parental supervision made her grow up fast. Maybe she did go into porn with a plan, or maybe this boyfriend she started her company with was the mastermind. It didn't seem like he was mentioned much.
Also, I can't stand the female narrator, she sounds like a fembot with vocal fry.

R28 I love Ashley West's voice, though. He sounds so proper with that English accent, even when he's explaining what double penetration means.

Again, none of her co-stars were prosecuted because she presented herself as Kristie Nussman, an adult woman in her early 20s at the time. With a valid state ID she herself acquired. She not only fucked her co-stars, but make-ups arists, crew, extras, the peoples house they rented....
They should've tracked down the real Kristie Nussman and have her give her feelings on having her identity stolen by Nora/Traci.

I don't think her boyfriend she started the company with, Stewart Dell (who was in his early 30s at the time), has ever spoken about the whole thing. Probably since he and Traci were still involved as late as the early 90s, professionally at least, because he directed her 1990 workout video. It's another big hole in her story. If she was so victimized by everyone, why stay connected to Dell years afterwards.
I'd be very surprised if they got him to talk.

Yes, she was sexually active. So what?
Yes, she schooled the pornographers in their own game. Good for her.

I loved Sharon Mitchell in this. When the District Attorney asked her if she thought Traci Lords was underage when she was in films with her, she said, "Honey, I couldn't tell the difference between 16-year old tits and 18-year old tits. Could you?"

The idea that you are helpless and incapable of making decisions until your eighteenth birthday, then on that day you are magically imbued with savvy and maturity, springs straight out of the Puritan playbook. In particular when it comes to women.
I guarantee you most of the scandalized posters in this thread are fraus who will turn a room upside down in their search for someone to judge and feel superior to.
